View 1 RepliesOMG, this thing freaking vibrates rough! I don't care, except that when I'm on the phone and get a notification, I can't hear the person talking because of the vibration. Any way to turn the intensity down?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWell the vibration that my phone is on right now is kind of bad so I decided that I wanted to change it, but I couldn't change the level of the Vibration Intensity because its grayed out for some reason. Grayed out meaning that it's un clickable. Any way to fix this? I'm pretty sure that I'm going to end up looking stupid.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis screen is unnecessarily bright in total darkness- is there a better screen brightness app that can bring the backlight down more than the settings allow?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI set auto brightness off and turn it all the way down cause the screen itself is bright already. but sometimes my brightness setting keep changing. i think an app does that?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI set the phone to not set brightness automatically and I put the brightness to the minimum. Every time I bring down the notification bar, the brightness automatically raises nonetheless and it's starting to really p.m.o.
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I use one hand to use the phone I often accidentally adjust the brightness by holding down on the notifications bar. Is there anyway to disable this feature?
View 7 Replies View RelatedCurious if any of the captivate owners are experiencing this. If you set your brightness to max, and turn off power saving mode. Have you noticed, when your battery starts to get really low, the phone ignores your max brightness setting, and reverts to a lower brightness?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI set the brightness to the lowest.i turned off the automatic brightness adjustment and i also disabled the power saving mode on my captivate. however, the screen goes back to the brigthest sometimes. is anyone having the same problem?
View 16 Replies View RelatedIf you swipe your finger on the notification bar (with the panel still up), you can change your brightness, anywhere that bar is present! Useful when auto brightness isnt on and you need a quick brightness change. I'm not sure if this is a touchwiz feature or an android feature.
View 14 Replies View RelatedJust curious what brightness setting everyone is using? I'm talking normal, run-of-the-mill settings not what you crank it to when you're outside, and not what you turn it down to for playing games in the dark. I want your normal setting. Anyone have an idea of how much power usage is impacted? (Like, does 100% Brightness use 50% more power than 10%, or does it use 400% more power?)
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have the Auto-Brightness turned off and am using the Power Control widget but from time to time, the settings on Power Control goes to min. without my actually touching the control (its on a different home screen, not the main one, so its not that Im touching it by accident).
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat is the difference between "automatic brightness adjustment" and "power saving mode" which has the description "save power by adjusting image and adjusting LCD brightness"? Which one should I have on to conserve battery? It sounds like the do the same thing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to control the brightness of the 4 bottom buttons, the home, back, menu and search buttons? I use my phone to watch movies in bed when I can't sleep, and in a dark room those 4 things are really bright, and never turn off, it gets distracting.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOne thing that has been bugging me is the 4 buttons at the bottom and the lack of sensitivity. I find myself pushing them 2, 3 times to get the expected response. Sometimes I know it's OS lag, but other times i really think/thought it was an issue with the buttons.I changed my default keyboard from Samsung to Android and I think the buttons work great now. Can anyone else confirm? Maybe it's just in my head.
View 18 Replies View RelatedAnyone know how to keep the lights on the 4 buttons at the bottom? It gets annoying that they go off after like 5 seconds.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAnother thing (beside LED notification) I cannot find on the body of my Cappy: the button to start camera instantly. I came from Motorola Milestone (left to my wife) where button dedicated to camera was obvious.Anyone knows if any of outside buttons can be used as bringing camera in?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I'm using NexBeast v1.1 on my Droid and noticed in the clock app there is a brightness button that dims the screen even further (similar to the bedside app I'm guessing). Unfortunately the screen dimness only lasts while in that app. I was wondering: is there a way to set the overall phone brightness itself that low or keep the screen that dim outside of the app? The lowest brightness in the Droid settings is still a bit too bright for me.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had my Captivate for a few weeks now. I've noticed since day one that the search button 'hard button' on the lower right of the phone, mysteriously 'pressed itself'. The first few times I figured I pushed it on accident with my pinky or something. That Is Not The Case. I know I'm not going crazy but every once in awhile, the hard button lights will go on and the vibrate (I have vibrate set to on) will go on and the search will pop up. All on it's own. This happens at least 5 times a day. If not more. It doesn't do it on any one specific page, it does it no matter what I'm doing on my phone. Sometimes I'll literally watch it just laying in my hand when my phone is on and the search will pop up.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI dearly dearly miss the the separate call button in my prior phone, that I could access no matter what app or screen I was in. With android, it is huge step backward, where you have to first click the home screen to get to the call button. Please tell me I am overlooking something very simple because I cannot imagine Android missing out such a big part. Or please tell me if there is a better home screen replacement that does exactly what I mentioned above. Will really appreciate any responses.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I searched and hope this isn't a repeat thread. So I never upgraded to the new version of launcher pro and just about ten minutes ago I hit my home button and it automatically takes me to launcherpro.com and says that my current version is expired and to download the new one. Problem is I can't get to the market because my home button doesn't work. So all that works is my browser, 4 physical buttons, and I can pull down my notification bar. So I really need to figure out a way to get to the market or switch to touch wiz.
View 8 Replies View RelatedOne gripe I have that I have been unable to fix (I looked through the forums a bit) is about the 4 touch-sensitive home buttons at the bottom. The backlight fades out after only a few seconds. Is it possible to edit the amount of time the backlight stays on for?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having this problem? When I press the power button to turn on the screen sometimes it doesn't happen. This happens maybe once a week. I'm guessing it's a software issue possibly because when I push the button to put my screen to sleep it always works. Also, the same thing happened to my old iPhone 3g all the time.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI used to have a Samsung Omnia HD and to unlock the phone, you would just hold down the unlock button. Is there any app that would enable this for the Captivate?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyways, I've had this phone for almost two weeks now and I love it. The only two things that have bothered me is: 1) the battery icon, it'll look like 80% when really it's 60% and 2) when I press the button sometimes I'll have to hit it a couple of times to make the back button work.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else notice the back/return button not being as responsive? I have a screen protector on at the moment but noticed some issues prior to it as well. Is there a way to adjust sensitivity for the bottom buttons?
View 18 Replies View RelatedWhen I receive a call on my Captivate, I have to use the home button to answer. There is a big pretty button on the left that has a green dot with a phone icon that you would think would answer it but it doesn't. Is there a setting somewhere, or a fix for this? Red button on the right with the phone icon hangs up, so you would think the green button would answer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFirst off, I love the Captivate. I just recently swapped it out with the HTC Aria, and haven't looked back since. However, I do miss certain aspects of HTC's Sense UI...
Anyways, my main concern with this phone is the 4 Soft Keys below the Samsung logo. I will address my issues/concerns/questions in the following list:
--How bright are your soft keys when backlit? (In comparison to other Captivates or other Android devices)
--Mine seem to have a slight yellow/brownish tint to them. Anybody have pure white, or anything different?
--The Home button: is your roof slightly different sizes when comparing the left to right. (Yes, I am aware this is nit-picky. not worried or bothered, just curious)
--Finally, my responsiveness on any of the 4 buttons is spotty at times. Especially once pressed when they are no longer lit. Have many others experienced this, and if so, which button(s) in particular give you trouble?
Is there not a browser 'home' button, or do you have to open a new window every time?
