Samsung Captivate :: Home Button Goes To Launcherpro.com

So I searched and hope this isn't a repeat thread. So I never upgraded to the new version of launcher pro and just about ten minutes ago I hit my home button and it automatically takes me to launcherpro.com and says that my current version is expired and to download the new one. Problem is I can't get to the market because my home button doesn't work. So all that works is my browser, 4 physical buttons, and I can pull down my notification bar. So I really need to figure out a way to get to the market or switch to touch wiz.

I know there are several threads already about each of these apps but I'm not sure which (or if either) of them is the main culprit here (although I suspect its my failure to set them up properly that's to blame rather than either of the apps themselves).I have LP and QD installed (and love both of them btw). I have QD set as the default home app and in QD have set LauncherPro as the default app to launch when pressing the home button. I've also set QD to launch on long-press of the search button. By default, QD is set to open on double-tap of the home button but I've set the home key timing in QD configuration to 1ms so that is effectively disabled.The issue I have is that if I exit an app using the back button, I have to press the home button twice to go to the desktop overview (or get back to the main home screen if I'm not currently on it). However, if I exit an app using the home button then I only need to press the home button once to get to the overview. I'm sure that before I installed QD I didn't have this issue.Anyone else noticed this or know why it's happening / how to resolve it?

One gripe I have that I have been unable to fix (I looked through the forums a bit) is about the 4 touch-sensitive home buttons at the bottom. The backlight fades out after only a few seconds. Is it possible to edit the amount of time the backlight stays on for?

When I receive a call on my Captivate, I have to use the home button to answer. There is a big pretty button on the left that has a green dot with a phone icon that you would think would answer it but it doesn't. Is there a setting somewhere, or a fix for this? Red button on the right with the phone icon hangs up, so you would think the green button would answer.

I just bought my captivate a few days ago and so far I love it. However it has started acting up more and more over the last couple days. I have my settings to "vibrate" whenever I click buttons. Sometimes after I click something the phone vibrates over and over again and I have noticed that the "home" button flashes when doing so. Eventually it stops but whatever application I am in crashes. Anyone know a fix for this problem or should I go exchange it for a new one?

My phone was working just fine and randomly the lock button stopped working and the home button brings up the power screen!

I'm new to Android and smart phones and so I'm trying to figure it out. First of all I have an unrooted HTC Aria. I would like to customize my phone. I downloaded LauncherPro from the market but I've heard of another app called Open Home. Are they similar apps? For instance, does one need both on their phone or just one or the other? From what I can tell Open Home allows for much more customization?

Having an issue with Launcher Pro. I've got an EVO.Whenever I hit the Home key (the hard button) my EVO resorts back to the stock launcher/home screen. I have set it as the default via Home Switcher and it still has the Home key bug. Everything else works fine with LP as far as I can tell.I have tried un/reinstalling the app. I have restarted my phone and the 'Home Switcher' app doesn't offer any relief. Don't know what else to try at this point.

pardon me if this has been asked before.for the apps launcherpro, how do i configure to have more home screens instead of the default 3?tried setting it to 5 on the default display and reinstalling launcherpro, it doesn't help.launcherpro doesnt has an option for me to configure settings.on a sidenote, anyone has a link to the 'historyeraser.apk'?

I downloaded and installed the Lock 2.0 free trial program. Upon install, when I clicked on the "Home" button on my Samsung Moment, a pop appeared with 3 choices:
Complete Action Using:
1) Home (go to home)
2) Lock icon (meaning to lock the phone) - also with a warning - do not use this as default - you had (sic) been warned.
3) a checkbox to use either choice 1 or 2 as the default always.
This made me curious. First of all if I accidentally remapped the Home button the Lock app, how would I be able to remap it to the default "Home" action? Looked in settings and do not see how I can remap Home button. I don't like how a 3rd part app can intercept the Home button and yet I can't figure out how to undo the damage if I accidentally remapped the Home button to the 3rd party app. Anyone here know if this is possible to restore the Home button if you mess up and a 3rd party app maps it by default?

So I did an exchange today hoping for the magical GPS fix. Instead, I got a phone where the home button works maybe 10% of the time I tap it. Anyone else having this issue? I'm going to exchange this one tomorrow.

New to Android as of the release date of the captivate...came from a 3g and am enjoying the switch so far.When the home (soft key?) key gets pressed the phone used to take me to my middle page (set for 3). Woke up this morning and it's now taking me to the 3rd page, and I can't find a setting that pertains to the behavior of those keys anywhere. It's hugely annoying and I need help.

It's nothing special but I got my 5 Droid X home screens set up, for now, using LauncherPro and figured I'd take capture a few screen shots. I like to keep everything simple and clean with apps put in seperate "sections" without having a bunch of widgets in the way. Feel free to ask any questions and if you want screen caps of certain things let me know.

One thing that has been bugging me is the 4 buttons at the bottom and the lack of sensitivity. I find myself pushing them 2, 3 times to get the expected response. Sometimes I know it's OS lag, but other times i really think/thought it was an issue with the buttons.I changed my default keyboard from Samsung to Android and I think the buttons work great now. Can anyone else confirm? Maybe it's just in my head.

Another thing (beside LED notification) I cannot find on the body of my Cappy: the button to start camera instantly. I came from Motorola Milestone (left to my wife) where button dedicated to camera was obvious.Anyone knows if any of outside buttons can be used as bringing camera in?

When I press on the home button lightly a "complete action using" option comes up and tells me to choose either A.HOME or B. TwLauncher. What does this mean? And why is it showing up? I haven't noticed this until today--I now have to choose one when I press on the home button.

I have a samsung vibrant and so does my aunt. I barely noticed that both of hours have a very small light leakage on top of the home button. Is this a wide spread problem. It has to be very dark and you have to look closely and tilth phone upward. It doesn't bug me but i just wanted to share with you guys.

Is there something I am not finding, I like to have Google as my home page and at times I want to bounce back to the home Google page to start a new search, I have to go back to my favorites and pull the google page back from there. Is there a trick to make the browser go back to the established home page from within the standard browser interface so that it is not a multiple click task?

I had a black background on my captivate and when I turned my phone on earlier the home screen was a carbon fiber look but the app screen is black. How do I get the home page to be black also? Phone is rooted and cant remember how I got it black origionally.

when I first got it I noticed that I had home screens on both the left and right of the center screen now it seems my "home" screen can only be on the right. So if I hit the home button it scrolls all the way to the right screen. btw I was an avid iphone supporter but have converted so I'm also a noob to the Android scene but so far I regret making this decision so late in the game!!

I've downloaded Launcher Pro, I currently still have ADW installed as well. When I use LauncherPro my home screen (and other screens) are not set up the way I currently have them. I spent a lot of time setting my current screens so they are exactly the way I want them. Any way to save that config when switching to LauncherPro? It does seem faster so I want to give it a shot, but I'm dreadig setting everything up again- widgets, apps, etc.

I've had my Captivate for a few weeks now. I've noticed since day one that the search button 'hard button' on the lower right of the phone, mysteriously 'pressed itself'. The first few times I figured I pushed it on accident with my pinky or something. That Is Not The Case. I know I'm not going crazy but every once in awhile, the hard button lights will go on and the vibrate (I have vibrate set to on) will go on and the search will pop up. All on it's own. This happens at least 5 times a day. If not more. It doesn't do it on any one specific page, it does it no matter what I'm doing on my phone. Sometimes I'll literally watch it just laying in my hand when my phone is on and the search will pop up.

I dearly dearly miss the the separate call button in my prior phone, that I could access no matter what app or screen I was in. With android, it is huge step backward, where you have to first click the home screen to get to the call button. Please tell me I am overlooking something very simple because I cannot imagine Android missing out such a big part. Or please tell me if there is a better home screen replacement that does exactly what I mentioned above. Will really appreciate any responses.
