One gripe I have that I have been unable to fix (I looked through the forums a bit) is about the 4 touch-sensitive home buttons at the bottom. The backlight fades out after only a few seconds. Is it possible to edit the amount of time the backlight stays on for?

View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have a problem with the backlight on the Home/Menu/Back/seach buttons. On my Incredible sometimes they come on when I bring it out of sleep and stay on. Other times they don't come on at all. Sometimes they just come on in the middle of doing something on the phone.
Have added some apps from the market but can't remember if it was like this from the start. Did a reboot and battery pull but it's still occuring.
I have also had a couple phantom reboots when in sleep mode so not sure if it's related.
So I searched and hope this isn't a repeat thread. So I never upgraded to the new version of launcher pro and just about ten minutes ago I hit my home button and it automatically takes me to launcherpro.com and says that my current version is expired and to download the new one. Problem is I can't get to the market because my home button doesn't work. So all that works is my browser, 4 physical buttons, and I can pull down my notification bar. So I really need to figure out a way to get to the market or switch to touch wiz.

There is a big pretty button on the left that has a green dot with a phone icon that you would think would answer it but it doesn't. Is there a setting somewhere, or a fix for this? Red button on the right with the phone icon hangs up, so you would think the green button would answer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought my captivate a few days ago and so far I love it. However it has started acting up more and more over the last couple days. I have my settings to "vibrate" whenever I click buttons. Sometimes after I click something the phone vibrates over and over again and I have noticed that the "home" button flashes when doing so. Eventually it stops but whatever application I am in crashes. Anyone know a fix for this problem or should I go exchange it for a new one?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had my Captivate for a couple of weeks now and love it except for one major issue. I keep dropping calls -- The back light comes on randomly and then my chin hits the end call button or other keys and I lose the call. I have had no success figuring out how to disable the backscreen from coming on during a call or if there is another solution that would work. I do not want to return the phone. Can anyone think of a solution?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm on my 2nd captivate and both of these bugs have happened on both phones.
First being the backlight remaining on unless I lock the phone manually. This will happen even with the backlight auto turn off set to 30 seconds. This has happened a handful of times, and I can make the backlight turn off if I want by using the lock key, but it will never auto turn off. This is fixed by power cycling the phone.
Second, my notification volume. I've noticed a few times that I'll have a text or something waiting on my phone for which I didn't hear the notification tone. When I go to the phones settings I find that the notification volume is down around 25% instead of the 75% or so I keep it set at. This seems to happen randomly.
My phone was working just fine and randomly the lock button stopped working and the home button brings up the power screen!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have found the settings to adjust the delay on the screen itself blanking, but when using the phone in the dark, the backlight behind the home, menu, back, etc, keys turns off too quickly. I might be reading and email and want to go back, but by the time I have read it, the keys are dark.
Is there a way to adjust this setting?
i focus my eyes on /sys/class/leds/button-backlight/, however, i can just turn off the backlight.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI downloaded and installed the Lock 2.0 free trial program. Upon install, when I clicked on the "Home" button on my Samsung Moment, a pop appeared with 3 choices:
Complete Action Using:
1) Home (go to home)
2) Lock icon (meaning to lock the phone) - also with a warning - do not use this as default - you had (sic) been warned.
3) a checkbox to use either choice 1 or 2 as the default always.
This made me curious. First of all if I accidentally remapped the Home button the Lock app, how would I be able to remap it to the default "Home" action? Looked in settings and do not see how I can remap Home button. I don't like how a 3rd part app can intercept the Home button and yet I can't figure out how to undo the damage if I accidentally remapped the Home button to the 3rd party app. Anyone here know if this is possible to restore the Home button if you mess up and a 3rd party app maps it by default?
So I did an exchange today hoping for the magical GPS fix. Instead, I got a phone where the home button works maybe 10% of the time I tap it. Anyone else having this issue? I'm going to exchange this one tomorrow.

New to Android as of the release date of the captivate...came from a 3g and am enjoying the switch so far.When the home (soft key?) key gets pressed the phone used to take me to my middle page (set for 3). View 5 Replies View RelatedOne thing that has been bugging me is the 4 buttons at the bottom and the lack of sensitivity. I find myself pushing them 2, 3 times to get the expected response. Sometimes I know it's OS lag, but other times i really think/thought it was an issue with the buttons.I changed my default keyboard from Samsung to Android and I think the buttons work great now. Can anyone else confirm? Maybe it's just in my head.

So if I hit the home button it scrolls all the way to the right screen. btw I was an avid iphone supporter but have converted so I'm also a noob to the Android scene but so far I regret making this decision so late in the game!!
