There is probably a simple setting that I am totally missing, but it is starting to frustrate me that I can't access my phone whilst I am on a call. The only way I can see to activate my blank screen is to press the power button which ends my call. Is there a setting somewhere that I can change?

When I'm on a call and a 2nd call comes in, my phone doesn't ring or anything. Is there anyway to change this so that I know when I have a call waiting without having to look at the screen (which is usually pressed up against my ear)?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWith the old 1.6 software on my X10, the lack of an automatic screen lock when in an active call was mildly annoying, as not all areas of the screen were active. However, with the new 2.1, just about anywhere on the screen becomes active (especially when juggling two simultaneous calls). What are the chances that we'll see a 'lock screen' function for phone calls? Those of us who actually use the phone for phone calls whilst holding it would surely appreciate it. Other android devices have had this for years.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I receive a text message while on an active call, it plays the message tone at full volume - making it rather hard to hear the other person! Granted, this only happens occasionally ... but when it does it can be quite annoying. I've searched other threads and had a (what I consider to be ) a thorough look through the phones' settings, but I can't seem to find a way to stop it. Is this just an omission on the developers behalf? Or is there something I could change?

Now that the update is out (2.2.1. frg83) I wanted to update and still have root access on stock. I was not able to update because I had deleted stock apps like amazon, twitter, etc., with titanium. I had to flash a stock ROM and then update to 2.2.1 worked, but no root access.
I even unlocked the bootloader to see if that would give me instant root but it didn't.
How can I go about getting root access on my n1 with 2.2.1.? I want to run a stock ROM and use rooted apps like titanium. Also to get future updates like gingerbread OTA. I do not want a custom ROM like cyanogen. Just stock 2.2.1. with root access. Whats the easiest way to achieve this? I tried installing amon ra, and it still wouldn't give me root access, couldn't install superuser,busybox, etc.
I got this notification today " restricted access changed. Data services blocked" After this I don't have access to data in mobile.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried to root my Nexus 4, and well I'm not too sure if it is rooted but after unlocking the bootloader and wiping the data, I got it to boot back up and then since then when I turn it off and try and go into recovery mode it has a dead android with a red triangle and says "No command." I can use the phone normally but it just wont let me get into recovery mode.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI like to have the power button on my N1 end a call that's in progress. That works great. I also have my screen blank out after 1 minute. And sometimes I need the screen to turn back on so I can toggle speakerphone or bluetooth or whatever. But the problem I run into is that the only way to turn the screen back on is to hit the power button, but then that ends the call! I have the power button setting changed for now, but I really like it enabled.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a Nexus one and I have made a bit of a mess of it when loading a custom rom. Previously I'd rooted (without unlocking) the stock (2.2) rom before loading Cyanogen 6, later Cyanogen nightlies and finally eViL-NXSense-v1213. I was rather enjoying the last one but had severe stability issues which I think was due to using Titanium Backup and restoring data. I was in the process of re-imaging to eViL-NXSense-v1213 after clearing the SD card, data and various caches when something seemed to happen to the recovery image. I can get into the boot loader but if I select Recovery it shows the Nexus One logo indefinitely and doesn't respond to the power button being pressed, the same happens if I turn it on from cold.
Is it possible that the recovery image has somehow been corrupted? If so what can I do to restore a recovery image that will enable me to install a custom rom. I would prefer not to unlock the boot loader but will do it if necessary.
My contacts weren't backed up to google+. I really need to access my phone through my laptop to copy my contacts atleast? In can access recovery mode and wipe it but I really want my contacts off of it and some text messages. How I can do this? My replacement nexus 4 through device protection plan just arrived and I need to send the broken one back.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAm new to my Nexus 4. After seeing many Nexus with custom roms, i thought to have one as well. I rooted my nexus using Nexus root toolkit and installed TWRP. Today i tried to install Beanstalk Rom in my phone. I installed the Gapps as well. I dint format the phone before flashing custom rom. When the phone started with the custom rom,i was getting a message like the rom is not stable and u need to clear the partitions. So i tried going back to the recovery mode and wiped everything except USB OTG. Now am stuck at google screen at startup. I cant access the phones memory to put the Rom and flash the same again.

I am not new to android: i have had the G1 which i did not root, the T-Mobile pulse, which i rooted and the HTC Legend and now the Nexus one.

With the legend i am am awhere of the Sence UI ? i liked how facebook contacts synced to my phone and when i rang i saw there display pictures, does the Nexus one do this?
SMS, is there a similar app to the legend, where you see threaded messages with a picture of there facebook dp?
I can't hear the phone when it rings, its so quiet, the volume is on max, is there anyway to increase this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI dearly dearly miss the the separate call button in my prior phone, that I could access no matter what app or screen I was in. With android, it is huge step backward, where you have to first click the home screen to get to the call button. Please tell me I am overlooking something very simple because I cannot imagine Android missing out such a big part. Or please tell me if there is a better home screen replacement that does exactly what I mentioned above. Will really appreciate any responses.

I would like to access it before it is transmitted to the other party.
At about 5-10 seconds into a call (either outgoing or incoming), my transmissions are muffled for about 10 seconds. Thereafter, I have occasional intermittent similar problems. I can always hear the other party perfectly; they just can't hear me. It happens with either the built-in mic or the corded headset or bluetooth.

I'm running 4.4.2 on nexus 5. All I'm trying to do is put a custom carrier logo image in the top left of my status bar. I used the method in this thread- [URL] to do it. Although this is for ICS roms specifically, I compared both status_bar.xml's from KK and ICS and they are VERY simlar. So I figured this would work. I like to do most of my themeing with the use of zip themer so I built a custom image (yes, its the correct size) called "carrier_logo.png" and stuck it my drawable-xxhdpi folder and added that line of code to my status_bar.xml and flashed the update.zip. When I reboot, the phone is in chaos and I get a repeated message over and over that systemUI has stopped, plus my status bar is completely gone lol. I'm assuming that line of code is just not compatible with KK systemui. So...how do I go about calling an image from my drawable-xxhdpi folder into the status bar's top left corner from my status_bar.xml?
