View 1 RepliesI've looked for this and I can't find it, so I hope I'm not being stupid . All I want to do is reset the call timers and packet data sent on a monthly basis on my HTC Desire so I can tweak my monthly usage if necessary and not exceed my quota. I can't find a call usage summary anywhere on the phone; all I can find is individual times etc per recipient called.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyone know if there is a way to have the Nexus automatically go to Edge when WiFi is enabled? Seems like that would be a smart way to try to maximise battery life...
Maybe it's already doing this, I don't know, since the WiFi symbol blocks the 'E' or '3G' symbol...
But if it doesn't - I propose it as a feature for a future update...
Is there a page that allows Nexus users to propose features? iPhone had this way back...
I was using a treo755 and holy !*!%!#, why did i wait so long to upgrade. Anyhow, I'm using Chomp and as far as I can tell there is no way to call a sender of a text while in Chomp. If this feature doesn't exist then, is there an SMS app that has it?

Ive just noticed today that with the phone locked, upon recieving a call the phone switches to being unlocked even after the call is finished. i do look after this phone much more than i have done with other mobiles, but it strikes me that if i do misplace it, the first thing i do is get a mate to ring me to see if its under somthing or at someones house ect. it seems that doing this unlocks the phone for anyone to use or to have a nosey through your personal stuff..is there an autolock after call feature? or an app that does this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes the Dinc have a way of ending the call automatically when the other party hang up without me having to physically push the end button. I guess this is useful when talking while driving and you know the phone will end the call when you set it aside instead of having to look on the screen. Is there a way to display while calling if the call is connected or the other party still has not picked up the phone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had the proximity sensor problem which was fixed after firmware update/blowing on the sensor. However, now neither the flip to silence the phone on an incoming call feature (the setting is on) OR the flip to activate the speakerphone when in a call now works. The flip to silence the phone on an incoming call was working before the firmware update.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhy do I have a "Slide" to either answer or not answer every Phone Call? The problem is that it only started doing this when I just turned the phone off and back on. I have had the phone since release and it has never done this before. Does anyone have any idea how to disable this slide to answer or reject feature. I don't want it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an android application which has a service running. After 20 mins from that service and other systems (such as GPS) starting I would like it to automaticly stop. I assume I need to use a Timer for that?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI found this code for Android timers.
CODE:.......
I need to understand one thing... the comments say that this method runs in the same thread as the Ui does it mean that this method will keep running even when the screen is turned off or the activity is pushed to the background for eg. in case of an incoming phone call ?
There are few built in ways to invoke a timer using the Android stack, A good example is the Chronometer. (http://developer.android.com/reference/android/widget/Chronometer.html) I would like to integrate piece of code (A thread)that implements timer using the Thread.sleep() method. I plan to have a Service tat invoke this thread and communicate with it. Are there any disadvantages of using the sleep() method over Chronometer?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need a time tracking app. There is a lot of time trackers on Google Play and I've tried a lot of them, but in every app I missed one important feature: parallel timers for different clients and jobs.
I need:
- to define my clients, to define my jobs I do for the clients, to define projects.
- to simply choose client, project and kind of job and then start the timer
- to simply start and stop MULTIPLE timers (start and stop one timer, while second timer is still running)
- to export all data in usable form (for billing my clients)
Example of what I mean:
- My job is phone support. I am sitting at home and answering phone calls. I am payed for hours, so I need to start timer and leave it running almost all day untouched (except of lunch time).
- Because I spent most of the time by waiting for calls, I simultaneously do other jobs. I write articles, compose music and do some other work for other clients. So I need to start and stop timers according to actual work - but the "phone support timer" has to be also running. When I am - for example - writing an article and someone calls me, I need to stop "writing article timer", pick up the phone and solve customer's problem. When I drop the phone, I need to start "writing article timer"... etc...
This kind of app with parallel timers I've used on my Psion PDA back in 1998, but I can't find similar app for Android phones.
I like to add numbers to a reject list, and never deal with those numbers again. Anyone know if its available on the Epic, or if there's an app that will accomplish this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm just wondering if the "X" being the latest Hi-End phone has some of these "Basic" features, and how to make them work.
My Oooold Moto Razr & old Blackberry Perl there were (1) different ring tones for text, alarm, incoming-ring, etc. You could also set different levels of volume for each.
(2) You could lock individual applications (password protected), like text, recent calls, phone book, etc.
(3) You could also set a timer for phone to SHUT Off, and Turn ON - and pick weekdays, or weekends, or each day.
I haven't been able to figure out these BASIC things on the X yet. Can I download any apps for this, incase Moto Droid forgot to include these basic features on their hi-end phone?
I have a TimerTask task calling a function onTimerComplete() in its run()
onTimerComplete() looks something like this:
CODE:...............
I make a Timer t and I schedule the TimerTask with t.schedule(task, 2000);
The problem is, when the timer is up and the task runs my onTimerComplete() but that function does not finish. It runs myFunc1() but never finishes it nor does it ever call myFunc2()
However, if I call onTimerComplete() directly, everything works.
Is is possible to remove the call feature from a phone, leave the MMS/SMS and Data modes? Basically I have a couple of older gen phones which are pretty crap for anything but media purposes, I use them whilst training or at an OP in Afghan. I just throw my headphones on if im running, as if I drop them.. I dont mind much.
Id like it if I could whack my sim in one, but remove the call function for OPSEC purposes. Still remain useful for SMS and Data(internet) usage whilst im away or even home. I've done this with certain devices (Wildfire, this was only used for Beats and Net, I removed the SMS and call function)
I have had to program some applications that require large amounts of timed tasks to occur. However, I'm afraid to create so many timers because I haven't been able to figure out how they are handled by Java. Is there a problem with starting large quantities of scheduled tasks? If so, what is the better alternative?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI like to have the power button on my N1 end a call that's in progress. That works great. I also have my screen blank out after 1 minute. And sometimes I need the screen to turn back on so I can toggle speakerphone or bluetooth or whatever. But the problem I run into is that the only way to turn the screen back on is to hit the power button, but then that ends the call! I have the power button setting changed for now, but I really like it enabled.
View 11 Replies View RelatedAt about 5-10 seconds into a call (either outgoing or incoming), my transmissions are muffled for about 10 seconds. Thereafter, I have occasional intermittent similar problems. I can always hear the other party perfectly; they just can't hear me. It happens with either the built-in mic or the corded headset or bluetooth.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThere is probably a simple setting that I am totally missing, but it is starting to frustrate me that I can't access my phone whilst I am on a call. The only way I can see to activate my blank screen is to press the power button which ends my call. Is there a setting somewhere that I can change?
View 4 Replies View RelatedOk, so I went into my call log and saw that it has every call made, missed and gotten since I received my phone over a month ago. Wow, thats a long list. I know on my Blackberry if I didnt clear my logs and messages, the OS would slow down. Is it the same as on Android?
Is there a way to keep the 10 most recent calls and message conversations instead of clearing all?
I'm running 4.4.2 on nexus 5. All I'm trying to do is put a custom carrier logo image in the top left of my status bar. I used the method in this thread- [URL] to do it. Although this is for ICS roms specifically, I compared both status_bar.xml's from KK and ICS and they are VERY simlar. So I figured this would work. I like to do most of my themeing with the use of zip themer so I built a custom image (yes, its the correct size) called "carrier_logo.png" and stuck it my drawable-xxhdpi folder and added that line of code to my status_bar.xml and flashed the update.zip. When I reboot, the phone is in chaos and I get a repeated message over and over that systemUI has stopped, plus my status bar is completely gone lol. I'm assuming that line of code is just not compatible with KK systemui. So...how do I go about calling an image from my drawable-xxhdpi folder into the status bar's top left corner from my status_bar.xml?

View 8 Replies View RelatedSometimes when im trying to make a call or send a text it wont go through. mostly with texting. I can see on the 3 icon that it gets stuck on sending. I have to turn the phone of and on and then wait a few secs and try again. Not a full shut off but a quick tap of the power button. It is very annoying. started happening last week. I havent done a complete reset of the phone cause i dont want to go through the whole reinstalling apps thing.

I tried this a few times and when I do, I end up having the music play in my headset while i am still in a call or it will stop playing music while I am in a call and bring it back after my call is over.
