Nexus :: Camera Area Rattle / Need To Fix
Apr 1, 2010
I don't know if any of you guys are having this problem, but i hear a really annoying rattle around the camera area of the phone. every time i set my phone down somewhere i hear a rattle, and it is very annoying. i wanted to know where it was coming from so i shook the phone next to my ear, it is definitely coming from the camera area. anyone else having this problem? is there an easy fix?

How amazing is the desire I absolutely love it, best phone ever. Had to get that off my chest to fellow desire owners. Anyways when I put my phone down it makes a slight rattle, after inspecting closer I noticed that when I tap around the camera area it also makes a slight rattle. I have looked around and found that people are having the same problem with the Nexus one and Hero and apparently its the auto focus.

Has anyone noticed a slight rattle sound at the top of the phone? I first noticed this when the volume was turned up on calls. But tapping on the back near the camera lens also produces the noise. Trying to decide if I need to exchange.

I have been playing with Android for a couple of months, so I'm still kindof newbie on this. I've looking for previous questions like mine, but I was unable to find any proper solution. So here goes my question:
I'm trying to draw a Camera Preview in a certain part of the screen (for instance, square upper-left). So what I suppose I should do is the following:
CODE:.............
And on the Preview Class I have the following lines:
CODE:....................

In the Camera app there used to be a bracket that showed where the focus of the picture is going to be and I could move it around to choose where I want it to focus, but I no longer see that. It still autofocuses, but does not show the bracket at all. Any ideas on why this is?

I have just recently noticed than when I use my desire there is a click/tick from the camera lens area. It happens about 5 seconds after I turn the camera on and when I move the camera around the room.
Does anyone know what this could be.

I received a new N1 after I swapped over by warranty but I don't remember is the camera flash was working on this new one before I put Desire and Cyanogenmod and on both the camera flash doesn't work, installed FlashApp and a couple of other apps that manipulates the flash but it still doesn't turns on.

When you start your nexus without a SD card inserted and start the camera, what does happen? Does the camera start and you can see but can't capture, or doesn't start at all and crashes?

right away I am doing an app for an festival, and I want to make a area map / area plan. I have got a picture (bigger then the screen) and I want to be able to move it up/down and to the left/right. Further I want to place smaler icons (like the stage, you should be able to click on it and see who is playing) or doing the same in de big picture and get the touch with a x/y request.but I haven't got an idea how I could realise this,

Firstly just wanted to say how useful this forum has been in keeping up to date with all the latest goings on for my HTC Hero (well, T-Mobile G2 in my case). Anyway. I'm having some problems with the speaker on my phone, the one you hold to your ear, rather than the one that plays music, loud speaker etc. I think I've found a solution, so wanted to share that with you guys, but also find out if anyone else has had a similar problem.
My phone has started crackling a lot when making calls. Other people can hear me fine, but their voice seems to crackle and fizz if it gets too loud. If I turn the volume up on my phone it gets even worse. At first I thought it was a blown speaker or something, but looking at the sim card holder, it seems to be that that's causing a rattle, it gets vibrated when the sound comes through the speaker. When I tap the back of my phone, gently!, it makes a slight rattling sound. I can eliminate the problem entirely by taking the back off the phone and firmly holding the top of the battery, thus stopping the sim card holder rattling around. However this isn't an ideal solution for everyday use!

My volume buttons seem loose. Is that normal you think? Perhaps its a petty thing to think about, but play (I can hear them rattle a bit if I shake the phone gently) in my experience leads to quick wear.

Mine feels a little loose, and it make a rattle sound, am i the only one with this? its like the plastic isnt tight or something, but when you press it its nice and firm to "click" up or down.
also the bottom of the screen/whole left side where the KB is kind of dips down about a hundreth or tenth of an inch wen you press something on the screen on that side, im guessing thats normal for a slider.

Just got back from my hols where I used my (stock) N1 camera a lot. Got some great pics but a few certainly highlighted just how important touch-to-focus is to me. Was quickly reading a review of the Desire and read it has touch-to-focus. Was just wondering if anyone who is actually running the modaco desire ROM on their N1 can confirm whether this works? I'd also be interested to know if I could just use the desire camera app on a rooted N1 with Cynanogen? I'm rather partial to the stock appearance and not massively inclined towards Sense UI.

Noticed since I work in a rather quiet environment. During office hours I need to keep it on vibrate mode. When the phone vibrates during a call, it causes a severe rattling noise when the phone is in my hands or if the bottom is not resting against a hard object. Removing the battery compartment cover and repeat, and the rattle is non existent. With the battery cover on, the rattle can be diminished by pressing firmly on the top section of the cover.

Anyone else have an issue with the camera "store location" not getting the correct GPS (if at all)? I just noticed that I was taking pics and saw that the GPS location was from the last place I had used the GPS some 50 miles away (time stamp too). it wasn't the only one.
just wanting to know if I'm going crazy, I don't see this being on the support forums so I'm also asking there too.
oh, and yes I was out doors, opening up maps will update gps and then camera will be accurate.

I took my kids to the California Science Museum next to USC and the Coliseum stadium.I got great 4G service both outside and inside the museum with my EVO. I was impressed with the great download speed. I also was impressed because I know other people were having trouble getting reception with their IPhones (3G and 3Gs) inside the first floor cafe.I hope they will be able to roll out 4G service city wide soon Surfing the web and watching Sprint TV was pretty cool.

The same thing happened on my Hero, so it's Sprint related. I rarely leave my house. When I do, I'm never more than 3 miles from home. My entire surrounding area is in Sprints coverage area. Ninety-eight percent of the time I'm steadily on the 3G. Every now and then though, while still at home, my phone changes over to roaming for no rhyme or reason! I know Sprint won't throw a hissy fit over the calls and data (unless over the 300mb), but why is my phone doing this? I just checked my account and it says I've used 7760kb of data while roaming.
