Mar 31, 2014I recently got the M8 upgrading from the Galaxy Nexus. I am a design student, and I HATE, I mean HATE the current clock set up with that damn weather icon and how it all looks uneven. Are there any widgets/apps or anything which I can change this?

Is there anyway I can change my current clock or SOMETHING. I do know that I can add a new widget page and have a new clock, but I can't make this my default lockscreen. Sliding across on the lockscreen seems pointless to me - i want this visible when i double tap my phone.
Samsung Captivate :: Lock Icon On Camera Screen?
Aug 26, 2010My wife and I have had our captivates for just over a month and have loved the device despite the few minor issues that we've experienced with them. I check the boards daily to see all the latest, but didn't see anything on one issue that i am experiencing.
When using the camera to take pictures of my infant son, if i try to take a picture, then another and sometimes a third (infants are hard to keep still for a picture) without closing the camera application, a few times i haven't been able to press the take picture button and have noticed a "lock" icon on the camera screen, then can not exit the camera app at all and need to power off the phone, then bring it back up. Does anyone know what causes this and if it's something that i am doing unknowingly when bobbling the phone trying to positing him for the picture?

Seems that I had the phone on in my pocket and the camera Icon got oddly stuck partially visible off the bottom of the screen from an inadvertent pocket long press. Then the camera icon went away altogether.
Now when I try to add an icon in the spot where it was (lower right stock position) a black circle appears and swallows up whatever I put there. It's like a folder, but it is invisible until I try to place the camera icon or any other icon there. Acts like a black hole. I can add the camera Icon back to any home screen, just not to that far right spot on the favorites tray.

Dec 12, 2013Just upgraded nexus 5 to 4.4.2and the flash control is greyed out even with HDR+ deselected. I tested the flash by sheilding light with my hand and it works (on auto) just greyed out cant change from auto to manual. Pretty ordinary if you ask me. would like to force flash on on occasion.

Sep 3, 2010I have a video thumbnail and when you click on it, the video starts playing in the YouTube player. This works great, but It's not so clear that you have to click on the thumbnail to play, so I have a play button image that I want to draw over the thumbnail in the bottom right corner. How would I go about this? I currently have the thumbnail in a Drawable object and the play button in my drawable resource directory. I tried stuff with bitmaps and canvas but it's quite hard and I don't know if this is the way to go.

Nov 2, 2010I am using relative layout to superimpose one smaller image on top of a larger one. I want the bottom-right corner of the smaller image to coincide with B-R corner of the larger image. Im using margin parameters in my layout xml (specifying measurement in dips) but this doesnt seem to work for all devices and resolutions - in some cases the small image is shifted by 4-5px from the border. Is it possible to specify the position of the smaller image without pixel values? Ie with gravity or something?

Aug 8, 2010It was earlier this evening in fact. I went with my friends to check out the iphone 4 for the first time. So i decided to try and see the reception problem for myself. I took out my nexus one and did a side by side comparison. However to my surprise the iphone 4 was already at 2 bars the moment i picked it up, no idea why as my nexus one (Which was on the SAME carrier btw) had more bars on it at the same time. I carried on with the test anyway. You guys can guess the result.
The bars didn't drop completely as the coverage in Singapore is much better. But that doesn't mean it had better reception than my nexus one.
But the interesting thing was the lady beside me noticed us and asked "what are you trying to prove?". So while her daughter plays with the ipad, I kindly explained to her the whole issue with the iphone 4's revolutionary antenna having a ******ed flaw by which it loses signal when you cover the bottom left corner of the phone, unlike my phone which did not suffer as much as a drop. She then proceeded to saying "But they fixed the problem if you use the bumpers right?". Thats when i explained that you should not rely on a silly bumper case to improve reception when the actual problem lies with the antenna's design itself. But again she said "but the problem is fixed with the case right?". With one of the store sales person watching us the entire time, i still carried on and said "no it doesn't solve the problem, it only prevents it from happening". So we continued playing with the phone and she asked "you all are not fans of apple are you?". Trying not to be so direct, i just said "I actually used to have an iphone, but i didn't like it so i got this instead *shows nexus one*".
Ive never done this kind of thing before, so it was kinda thrilling. Especially when you know the staff is looking at you pseudo-promoting a rival phone. After looking at the iphone 4, i really think it does look beautiful, but it will still be crippled by the limitations of the OS regardless of how you jailbreak it. When i left the store i kinda hoped i shed some light into that lady's decision on whether or not to buy an iphone 4 or any other phone (Android or non-android).

Brand new S4 received yesterday, stock OTA 4.4.2 pushed by Verizon about 5 minutes after my phone was activated.
After playing a bit more, I found that if I swipe to the second lock screen page, then back, if I tap on the message notification it will open, but tapping before that yields nothing.

All seemed okay so let it get on with it.But when I thought it was ready I cannot get further than the four moving coloured circles. I have tried to factory reset and delete cache but has made no changes. I have been in contact with google play who now say there is no more actions that can be done so will need replacement.

Mar 11, 2014Since few weeks my battery life get drained by my screen. My screen brightness is on his lowest and still draining like 20-30% battery life each hour. Sometimes my screen even drain in stand-by mode... Every other draining apps/things are off.
And then we have random reboots... My nexus 4 just reboot without any reason. Sometimes its reboot in stand-by mode and sometimes when I use my phone. But both without any reason to reboot...?
