right away I am doing an app for an festival, and I want to make a area map / area plan. I have got a picture (bigger then the screen) and I want to be able to move it up/down and to the left/right. Further I want to place smaler icons (like the stage, you should be able to click on it and see who is playing) or doing the same in de big picture and get the touch with a x/y request.but I haven't got an idea how I could realise this,

The display area of my SGS has been reduced there is now a black line (approximatively 1 millimeter thick) around the display now anything that should be displayed has been centered (a kind of)i have noticed that after press-holding the HOME BUTTON (to get to the task manager).even when the phone that black border is still there and it look like the screen has been pushed down the display is not now at the same level as the top-cover (or screen cover).I have used the factory reset but nothing has changed.My phone look horrible now.

Detecting roaming doesn't solve the problem since the user may still be in the same network with a different area code. I thought about getting the user's coarse location to find the city he's is in but this approach needs Internet access and might not be fast enough (this is done as the user is making a call and needs to finish before the call is made). Is there any way I can do this with just the info from the cellular network?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have HTC Evo and installed Graffiti some time ago with no problems. Yesterday I did an update of several apps including Graffiti, which required a manual update to a new version. Ever since the updates were completed, I have an ad show up in the text input area. This shows when I'm either doing a google search, text message, etc. It's always an ad for Netfront Life Browser (which I don't have installed). It's really irritating because I have to tap the ad to make it disappear which makes Graffiti think I'm hitting the screen to input punctuation. So I have to tap it again to remove punctuation mode before I can enter text. The ad also will pop up in the middle of inputting the Graffiti text. I'm not sure if the updated Graffiti is forcing the ads in, or if it's another app that is causing it. Any ideas on how to fix this? I hate to lose Graffiti but something has to give - it's now much slower to use Graffiti than regular keyboard.

From what I understand, FLAG_NO_CLEAR, should also prevent the notification from being cleared by pressing the Clear button, this is also not working.
Does anyone know of an app that achieves the display of recently used apps in the notification dropdown area?Essentially, performing the same function that a long press on the home button does, but obviously eliminating the need to press a button. I've been looking for something like this for a good while, and was pleasantly surprised to see HTC had included this very function in their latest version of Sense.... when I went to the HTC London meet last week. unfortunately, the HTC guys demoing informed me there is currently no way to obtain this feature for current handsets.

How do I get that Eclipse screen area to have vertical orientation, not horizontal (inside Eclipse - it correctly shows as vertical in the emulator)?
In my class I have an OnTouchEvent and when a certain area is clicked, it will play a sound (Not sure if this is the best way to go about this?). However I have been running into bugs using the MediaPlayer. Sound will double play and then eventually sound will stop completely. I am wondering how to efficiently play 5 sounds. The user will be clicking the screen in different areas and different sounds will be playing. I have the attached code below but it only has the first area. Say I add in another area how would I go about changing the media player to play a different sound.

Sometimes I have a button in my UI that it is so small that it is difficult to click. My solution so far has been to add a transparent border around the button in photoshop. Just increasing the padding on the button does not work, since this will also stretch the image. Since it is kind of a fuss to open photoshop each time I want to change the clickable surface, is there any way to do this programmatically? I have tried placing a framelayout behind the button and make it clickable, but then the button wont change appearance on touch as it should. Ofcourse I could also add a ontouchlistener on the framelayout which changes the buttons appearance, but then it quite some code if I have several of those buttons.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an ImageView, and I want it to be clickable. The image itself is only 32x32 pixels, but I want the clickable region to be larger so it's easier to hit. I was hoping I could set the layout margin values to increase the size of the imageview's clickable area:

That doesn't work, what I could do is just recreate the image resource to have a larger transparent region around it. That's a bit annoying because it's hard to tweak if I ever need to change the clickable region. It's not just a single png either, it's a statelistdrawable so I have to resize 3 different pngs if I ever need to tweak the clickable area.
Anything else I can do?
