I just loaded up bugless beast 0.4(2.2) and noticed that for the default messaging app I was getting a pop up window every time I got a text. I found no way to disable this. So I finally decided to just load Handcent and use that. So I disabled all notifications for the default app, and set up Handcent. The pop up options are not selected yet I still get this stupid popup!

How to disable the automatic 2.1 popup that is constantly displayed every time I unlock my phone? I imagine it would be something like renaming a certain file, but I guess I'd have to know the name of the correct file first.

View 1 Replies View RelatedNot sure which app or setting is causing this, but I'd like to get rid of it.When I get an SMS a pop-up is displayed,I have no idea what is causing it and would like to disable it.I had Handcent SMS installed, but uninstalled it. It had a pop-up, but a different one.I also have Missed Call installed, but do not have SMS configured, nor do I think it even has an option for pop-windows like this anyway.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy battery drained all the way until the "red" and a popup came up that said "Battery is less than 5 percent. Connect to charger" So I connect to charger. An hour or so later, the battery icon is "full" and green, I disconnect my charger and it immediately shoots down to red with the popup appearing again. I have tried charging it on numerous Motorola chargers, even overnight and it still happens? Anyone have this issue?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried the apps "Handcent" and "Sms Popup" and set them to automatically display a popup on the lock screen when there is a new sms (similiar to the iPhone).Both apps, however, only display the popup after the lock screen.I guess this has something to do with this "great" touchwiz overlay Samsung is using. Any way to fix this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedAs soon as the 2.2 update was leaked for the Droid, I downloaded it and applied it to my phone, rather than keep waiting for Verizon to push it out weeks later. The update process went smoothly, and I have been running Froyo for a couple weeks now.
The problem is, now my phone bugs me with the OTA update notification constantly, and the only options I have are to install, or install later. I have no option to decline the update. Is there any way to tell android to stop attempting to apply the OTA update? I am surprised it is even trying, as its already running 2.2 so why would it still try and update? If it matters, I have rooted my Droid.
I use Task Killer to free up memory throughout the day. I notice that everytime I launch it, certain apps keep reappearing. For example, CNET Bar Scanner it would show up so finally I just decided to uninstall it. I use corporate calendar, but not the regular calendar - any way to disable it? Same with the standard messaging app - I use Handcent. Another example is Verizon Visual Voicemail - I don't use it but it's there all the time. When my Droid starts getting laggy, I just know to launch Task Killer and kill the apps that I don't need.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just received my new Droid X yesterday and so far I'm loving it. I discovered that there are problems with WiFi on many Droid X's and it mostly stems from what type of encryption is being used on the router. My Linksys router was set up with WPA2 Personal with AES encryption. I found out that by changing it to TKIP could alleviate the problem so that's what I did. Now WiFi seems to work just fine. The only thing that bothers me is that whenever WiFi is enabled, it doesn't seem to disable my 3G connection. All of the data is going through the WiFi connection but the 3G icon stays on the notification bar not doing anything. I thought 3G was supposed to be disabled when connected to a WiFi hotspot?

I have a huge problem where I constantly hang up on people (usually my girlfriend) and that doesn't go very well . If its possible for the end buttonor volume button to wake the screen instead of the proximity, that would save me a lot of hassle. Is this doable, either standalone or through a rom setting?

It doesn't have an option to "don't remind me again" and after calling Verizon they didn't know how to disable this constant reminder. I had my BB configured to disable all LED notifications while in its holster as my wife really has a big problem with flashing lights while we are sleeping. (yeah, i dont get it either...close your eyes and goto sleep!) Anyway, since getting the Droid she has started that old complaint again about my phone flashing at night...soooo...is there any way to disable LED notification for e-mails and SMS? A locale plugin would be great, but I'll take whatever I can get to keep the peace!
