Motorola Droid :: Disable Screen Lock
Jan 19, 2010it is a pain to turn the phone on on top and then slide to unlock. I have the shake app but that doesn't work very well.

Aug 29, 2010It was an awesome feature on 2.1 on the droidx... now in froyo it's gone?Am I the only person that doesn't have monkeys in my pocket accidentally activating my phone? When I turn it on, I want it on, not "ready to be unlocked".

Aug 19, 2010How do you do it? IMHO it's one big pain in the xxx! Just makes one more thing to do to bring it up from sleeping.Guess I will see what happens with accidental screen touches.From what I see you'd have to hit the on/off button(unlikely) or the home page button(more likely) to get it to come out of resting. Screen touches do not wake it.

Sep 28, 2010Not sure where to post this but i am gonna do it here and hopefully it is helpfull to someone.Just watched this video over on the dailymobile.se website and some guy goes through how he has customised his nexus with different apps and there is one for diabling the lock screen and using the power button to wake it up without having to swipe to unlock.He uses an app called "No Lock" and i am now using it and it saves me valuable finger swipeing time.How to customize your Android phone with different apps (video)Also there are a load of other customisation he has done but he goes through that aswell and names all his apps etc.

Dec 8, 2013 I'm on a Samsung G3 and just updated to 4.3. Enjoying it for the most part but the new lock screen is giving me some trouble. I preferred the one from 4.1 but I'm trying to adapt. Downloaded DashClock and added weather, email, and SMS extensions but I keep getting the stock Messaging widget popping up when I get a message (see image). I do want my phone to vibrate and the screen to turn on when I get a message, I just don't want to deal with the extra widgets.
DashClock is my default widget (got rid of the standard one and dragged DashClock to the right). Is there a way to disable all these extra widgets?
By the way, I did try disabling multiple widgets in the settings after setting DashClock to be my default and it kicked DashClock out and reverted back to the stock lock screen.
General :: Automatically Disable Screen Lock At Home Or Work
Oct 21, 2013Is there a simple setting that will automatically disable my screen lock when I'm at home or at work? If not a setting, is there an app you recommend?
Long version: I'm fairly new to "devices". I got my first, a wifi-only Samsung tablet about 6 months ago and use it sporadically, mostly when traveling, but also it's become my semi-permanent music player at home. I got my first smart phone, a MotoX about 2 weeks ago. Love the MotoX and feel it's exceptionally well designed, easy to configure, and useful, but I have nothing to compare it to other than my wife's IPhone 5.
I have done a web search for this information. I have also searched and scanned around these forums, but didn't find anything I felt comfortable with in terms of how fussy or current the set up steps are or how current the app recommendations are. The two apps I've come across are, IIRC, called "Delayed Lock (trial or paid)" and "Unlock with WiFi".
My question is - today, mid-October 2013 - how do you recommend disabling screen lock while at certain locations. I imagine I'll be using it strictly at work or at home, both of which have wifi I connect to automatically. I might want to disable screen lock while driving, but so far have found my MotoX's Assist driving mode to work very well. I might get a Bluetooth device and at that point would probably want to disable the screen lock while that bluetooth device was connected.
