How to disable the automatic 2.1 popup that is constantly displayed every time I unlock my phone? I imagine it would be something like renaming a certain file, but I guess I'd have to know the name of the correct file first.

I just loaded up bugless beast 0.4(2.2) and noticed that for the default messaging app I was getting a pop up window every time I got a text. I found no way to disable this. So I finally decided to just load Handcent and use that. So I disabled all notifications for the default app, and set up Handcent. The pop up options are not selected yet I still get this stupid popup!

I had my BB configured to disable all LED notifications while in its holster as my wife really has a big problem with flashing lights while we are sleeping. (yeah, i dont get it either...close your eyes and goto sleep!) Anyway, since getting the Droid she has started that old complaint again about my phone flashing at night...soooo...is there any way to disable LED notification for e-mails and SMS? A locale plugin would be great, but I'll take whatever I can get to keep the peace!

i updated it to .62 only to find it couldn't be rooted, so i downgraded to .58 using the wotan server and re-rooted and all is well but the stupid update prompt is always there.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm somewhat new to smartphones and have a Motorola Droid with 2.1. About 2 days ago I continue to receive a nag screen or notification to update to 2.2. It doesn't have an option to "don't remind me again" and after calling Verizon they didn't know how to disable this constant reminder. Since I don't want to update to 2.2 (maybe a few months later) is there any way that I can block or disable this message?

View 4 Replies View Relatedok so i rooted my droid a whlie ago to 2.2 but now i'm getting 2.2 froyo update. So i decided well might as well get the official one right? so i tried to install it but then it goes to the rooted reboot screen and i just press reboot now. couple days later i get the update in the notification bar again.
Help please! should i unroot(already overclock though and don't really want all my data to be deleted)? and get the ota update? what should i do?
Anyone else? Bueller? How long should I wait before I just bite the bullet and force install?

I used the advanced task killer before I actually clicked on anything and the update disappeared on me. I know, shouldnt have done that, just force of habbit when I first turn on the phone everyday. Anyhow, I re-booted my phone thinking it might come back and it didnt. I then checked for system updates on the phone and it said there werent any. Just checking to see if anyone else has ever had something like this happen to them.

As a former Eris owner who had to suffer through having my phone ruined by the 2.1 update, which is why i now have a droid, I'm not willing to let verizon/moto ruin another phone I'm very happy with now... Is there a way to kill the message that comes up notifying me of the update or do I just have to be annoyed by it?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI can open gmail and then it goes back to the home screen, when I delete an app I suddenly get a notification that an app has an update (EVERY TIME I delete an app). My weather widget was reading 32 degrees all day yesterday and I noticed that the settings were changed to celcius. What really sucks is I am in the middle of buying a house and I email back and forth with the lender on my phone. Oh and the battery never got any better I can barely get 4hrs out of it. I really like the phone and I hate to return the darn thing.

I had no clue what it was until I checked the nav bar, and saw it was a facebook update. Wow, I thought, maybe they fixed the facebook app in the background without forcing me to update. Haven't seen the blue light since, and it has been 2 days and 7-9 notifications later.
Any idea when they will fix the facebook app? Or better yet, any idea how I got it to light up once randomly? It was somebody posting a comment on my wall post fyi (and the notifications still don't refresh in the app itself). Also, why can't I view linked youtube videos from other peoples comments? Obviously the droid can use youtube, so it seems odd that they wouldn't let you watch posted videos.

I have notification unchecked in the native message app on my skyrocket galaxy II. I noticed it says "display message notifications in status bar" It say nothing about popups...but I have it off anyway.
I use the iphone notifications app (mimics iphone banners). It works fine but I also get the popup with the android man... and I can't shut it off.
If I go into go sms and check the suppress other notifications... it works... so there is a process out there to suppress......
I just can't find the place that is generating the notifications....
So i have my app running in fullscreen however i want to add a button that when pressed basically makes the notificationbar pop back up and imedeatly drop down so all notifications are visible, however i also want it to redisappear when its slide back up, is this possible?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need pop-up notifications of missed voice calls and SMS text messages. The pop-up should remain on the screen until dismissed/acknowledged. If the screen times out, I would like the message to reappear after I log in to the phone. Generally I can't get my phone out quickly enough to see the original message. I can't tell whether I've missed a call or a text message, so I have to check both. I find the missed call format especially unfriendly. I'm using Calendar Event Reminder and loving it. It would be great to find soemthing that works similarly for calls and text messages.
I must have installed some app or selected some option. About 5 minutes after missing a text message the phone produces an very annoying sound. I hope that when I install a new notification app or setting that this annoyance will go away.
Anyone know how to stop the motorla phone tools from installing automatically when you connect the phone for the first time? Also how to avoid browser pop up of verizon media manager when you connect?

It had a pop-up, but a different one.I also have Missed Call installed, but do not have SMS configured, nor do I think it even has an option for pop-windows like this anyway.
