Motorola Droid :: Way To Disable Camera Audio
Dec 11, 2009
I am sorry if this has been asked elsewhere but after much searching I decided it was just time to ask. Is there a way to disable camera sounds? It just seems like something very simple that should be in there, but for whatever reason I am not seeing this. I want to say this has been a feature available on every camera phone I have ever owned...

I connected my phone via USB to my RR sport to upload audio files to the RR hard drive. However, I keep getting connection error. Apparently my device is not being recognized as a storage. I did the unmount thinking. Also, I am wondering how I can play audio from my phone through the RR audio system.
RR is 2010.

is there a way to disable A2DP streaming audio on the HTC INC? Obviously, I would prefer to play my music thru my car stereo via AUX cable, rather then streaming via my bluetooth speaker.I already spoke with tech support for my new BlueAnt S4 and they said there is no way to disable it via the speakerphone. Hopefully, there is a way to block it on the phone directly.

how to disable the low battery alert audio? I have disabled the popup, but I would like to also disable the audio. I tried deleting the lowbattery.ogg file in the root media file, but then it just played a different audio file for the low battery. I am on a rooted Nexus 5 running 4.4.2

So I spent the last hour or more in my backyard in 107 degrees taking pictures of flowers at stock settings with both phones. NOT an easy task I will tell you that. My back hurts, but besides that... I did my best to show the best quality of BOTH cameras, because they are both great. I realize that not everyone will agree with me, or will think I messed with something in my pictures. But these are all completely stock settings, not messed with at all. I only touched the flash on/off button.
My decision is I like the X camera better, it is easier to focus, and much snappier. Plus designated camera button! I found on the Incredible while the pictures look great on the phone itself and in gallery, that as soon as they were uploaded the colours looked washed out and not as great. I know this is due to the AMOLED screen. But both overall great. My decision is the X though.
X FLASH:

NOTE: Inc would NOT focus any closer without being extremely blurry, tried a gazillion times.
X NO FLASH:

My eris is on the way to my house and I should get it in a few days. Im going to root it. I got this phone for work to replace my blackberry that sucks and dont have a camera. Worst case I will remove the camera or drill it out. Before I would do that though I was wondering if I could actually remove a system app such as the camera and video camera. What would be best is if there was a way to disable the driver for the camera so it wouldnt even work with other apps like bar code scanner ect. The reason I want to do it this way is because it would be reversible in the future if I wanted to sale the phone, but wouldnt be something they would consider reversible at work.Basically if I give the phone to safety/security and they cant get it to take a picture in 10 mins or so it will pass the test.
does anyone have any insite on what would need done? Would it be like removing a system app? would the kernel or radio need altered? If I decided which rom I wanted to use could someone (or even the dev that made the rom) remove the camera?I really dont want it to work for any apps like goggles or any of the aftermarket camera apps on the market because if security decided to download a camera app on the market and try it out.

My shop has been approved to buy tablets to hold our tech data to work on equipment. The only issue is they cannot have camera access, wifi access or Bluetooth. This is just to insure that people don't end up bringing them home, loading a bunch of games on it and bringing it back to work. Its strictly going to be for PDF files and Pictures of configuration stuff. I was wondering if there was a Device administrator apk out there where I can just select these options to disable. I know my way around android as with rooting and what not, but when it comes to dev I am completely clueless.

Is there a way to disable that stupid button? I hate the location of it. Also, is there some kind of slide-to-unlock feature for these phones? I know we have the slide security pad thing, but I was wondering more along the lines of the iPhone and Droid... slide a button across the screen to unlock.

Where to get streaming (live) video and audio from camera example for Android? Suppose I want to create some live video streaming service app so I'll have some cool server at the back end. And I know how to do that part. Suppose I have some stand alone app for PCs now I want to go on to mobile devices. So I want to see some sample app grabing audio and video streams from Phone, Synchronizing them, encoding somehow, and sending LIVE stream to server. I need any Open-Source sample that will do this or something like this. Where can I get such one?

Strange thing happened. When I try to disable the cammera button ( Galaxo+ settings ) it doesn't work.In fact all it will do is force close on me. Everything else in 1.6.3.3 seems to be behaving quite well for me, even taking pictures.Haven't had the pixelated or no image thing at all.Is there something I am missing that I could try ?

Is there any way to disable shutter sound in builtin camera app?
In folder "system/media/audio/camera/" change name of "cam_snap_0.ogg" and it's done.
I renamed folder name "camera" and by this way disabled any camera sounds witch was useless for me.

I'm toying with the idea of making a car dock for my Droid. The official Droid dock doesn't work with any cases and if the iPhone is any indication, no one will ever make one that does. Plus, it doesn't do everything I want.
I want to plug my phone in with as little fuss as possible, have it charge, output audio to my car stereo through USB. Charging is absolutely necessary, and I want to avoid using the headphone jack for audio if I can because it's an extra thing I'd have to plug in rather than just sliding the phone right in the dock. Better yet if the USB audio output is a constant volume intended for control on another device.
So.. Is it possible? If I need hack a car charger in to a usb audio cable I'm fine with that (unless I could get both in one). This thing would do it, but it looks like it has more pins than standard usb (can't really tell in that pic, but maybe someone knows?), and the Droid doesn't.
My other options are connecting the Droid directly to the head unit via USB and mounting it as a mass storage device, but I prefer the way the Droid handles music better than the head unit, and mounting the USB is an extra step I'd probably get too lazy for. And finally, I'd considered making an app that spoofs an iPod, since my HU has iPod controls, but that's more work than it's worth when the Android music player's controls are just as good.

I just got the brand new Droid 2 Global, trading up (WAY up) from a BlackBerry Tour. The audio settings for my earbuds show "audio effects" that can be enabled, but the only one that works is "effects profile", which is a "sound stage" stereo separation thing. The other two are Surround and Equalizer, but they are grayed out and don't work. The Equalizer is stuck on the Extreme Bass setting. What gives? Why isn't there an actual EQ function on this thing?

just started using the Pandora music app, but my kids in the back seat could not hear it. so I stopped by Walgreens and picked up the "JUPITOR JACK". you can't miss it cause it has the big red ad: "AS SEEN ON TV". it works well enough, but I had to tweak my car audio system to make it decent. whatever the droid plays comes out on the car radio, it's better then my old belkin FM transmitter.

I just loaded up bugless beast 0.4(2.2) and noticed that for the default messaging app I was getting a pop up window every time I got a text. I found no way to disable this. So I finally decided to just load Handcent and use that. So I disabled all notifications for the default app, and set up Handcent. The pop up options are not selected yet I still get this stupid popup!

As soon as the 2.2 update was leaked for the Droid, I downloaded it and applied it to my phone, rather than keep waiting for Verizon to push it out weeks later. The update process went smoothly, and I have been running Froyo for a couple weeks now.
The problem is, now my phone bugs me with the OTA update notification constantly, and the only options I have are to install, or install later. I have no option to decline the update. Is there any way to tell android to stop attempting to apply the OTA update? I am surprised it is even trying, as its already running 2.2 so why would it still try and update? If it matters, I have rooted my Droid.
