I just downloaded Handcent and for some reason when I get a text not only does Handcent show a notification so does the defualt and the ringtone goes off twice? How do I set it up so only handcent works. Thank You

I sent a mass text out today. people started responding. But I am left with 1 notification for an unread text. Well, I have read that text, but it won't clear. I deleted the specific text, it won't clear the 1 in my status bar. When I pull my status bar dropdown menu, it shows the text, so I click on it and handcent force closes. I deleted the entire thread from the person, still didn't clear. Powered down, still didn't clear. DELETED handcent and reinstalled, still didn't clear.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIts not really a problem then an annoyance..does anyone know how I can make it so that when I receive a txt or an email and I open it in another way then the notification bar that my droid notification led will stop blink and the notifications will disappear from the disappearing notification bar? I'm just try to stop the fact that I have to go into LPP settings, make my bar re-appear, erase notifications, then make it so the bar disappears again.

View 4 Replies View Relatedok so i rooted my droid a whlie ago to 2.2 but now i'm getting 2.2 froyo update. So i decided well might as well get the official one right? so i tried to install it but then it goes to the rooted reboot screen and i just press reboot now. couple days later i get the update in the notification bar again.
Help please! should i unroot(already overclock though and don't really want all my data to be deleted)? and get the ota update? what should i do?
For some reason the notification bar in my Home++ is showing up at the top. At one time it wasn't there and I could get it by hitting the ! in the work bar. Is there a setting I need to get to to hide the notification bar?

But reliability is Job 1, so I kept chompSMS for a few weeks.Then I heard that Handcent received a major update a few days ago, so I replaced chompSMS with Handcent. So far so good. I got all the features back, and I haven't had one single issue in days of texting. So if you're like me and you left Handcent for chompSMS, you may want to give the new version a spin.

Apparently the ERIS does not have a "delivered" for SMS. On my BB (for VZW to VZW) a "D" would appear when the SMS was received at the other end.

Handcent (the SMS app) gives you options to not only change the colour but also the frequency of LED flashes. I have set it up a few times but every time I get a text message, it is he usual green, slow flash - and even then it doesn't always work. Sometimes I look at my phone with no LED flashing at all, pick it up to do something else, then notice there is an unread text..

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've contacted handcent directly and looked in their forum but it appears that they don't provide good service to customers - no replies! I didn't much like Handcent so I uninstalled it and no notification sounds happened when I received a message. I went back to the stock messaging app and reset the notification sound but it didn't work. Reinstalled Handcent and the sounds came back. Unistalled and no sounds again. I was on 2.1 when it started but I'm now on 2.2 and the same issue happened (no Handcent when it was upgraded to 2.2 in case you're wondering and it didn't fix the problem). Anyone know how to completely remove all traces of Handcent and reset/reconfigure/reinstall the stock messaging app.

I have tried the volume keys, they don't work. I have tried the power/sleep key, it doesn't work. And those look different (they have the green text bubble as the icon). Can anyone clue me in as to what that 2nd notification is below the blue Handcent icon? And can I get rid of it? I'd like to keep the text messages private is why I ask - I have Handcent and the stock Messages under App Protector. And I have Handcent's option checked to not show messages in the bar, just the notification.
View 11 Replies View RelatedSo like everyone else I was getting really annoyed about the time stamp issue with handcent under 2.2. I looked at the release notes for handcent and saw that version 3.27 added some sort of timestamp fix for the Droid X. Apparently this actually causes problems with the DroidX 2.2 official release. I got an older copy of handcent (version 3.26) and now everything appears with the correct time stamps. I got the apk from here: Download Handcent SMS for Android at Freeware Lovers. You will also need to use the app SMS Time Fix from the market to address the problem with the delay that causes messages to be out of order. So I guess one less thing broken, now if only they can fix the double lock.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I downloaded Handcent and the handcent keyboard in order to have T9 functionality (I like to type fast with one hand), and found the Handcent T9 keyboard to be pure crap.
First, it doesn't even have basic words in it, but mainly the letters only show and the numbers don't, so have to do a seperate thing just to put numbers in. Since it was free I got what I paid for.
So I search the market and found Better Keyboard and then had to also buy its T9 app, called EvenBetter Keyboard and this is much better. Is it worth it to buy to apps (2.99+3.99) just for T9 when there was a half-ass working one in Handcent for free? I don't know, but I am happy with it.
Was wondering if other people used T9 on Handcent and/or EvenBetter keyboard and what are your thoughts.
Please dont let this thread become a QWERTY vs T9 fight. Just asking about T9 and which vendor do you prefer using?
