I installed handcent and I cant get the notification sounds to work - I have checked the phone sound settings as well as the handcent notification settings and everything seems to be set right yet no sound for texts. It does vibrate when I have it on vibrate.

I have a Galaxy Note 2. I use the Yahoo Email app and want to select a cool ringtone for my email sounds but can't because the app only recognizes only the installed system sounds.
So who knows to get this app to play whatever ringtone you want?
I absolutely cannot get text message notification sounds to work. At all. It stays on the stock sound. I can change it to any of the preloaded stock sounds and click ok but when I get a text it still plays the stock sound. I also tried using custom and that didnt work either. I have searched and searched and found nothing. And I am using the proper folder structure on the sd card for the customs. Does anyone have any ideas at all? Im getting very frustrated.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI haven't been able to hear notifications lately, the volume is up but nothing. My ringer for my phone works and I made sure the notification, ringer and media volumes are all set to high. The speaker is working because when I hit the volume rocker it makes a beep. I feel silly asking for this but it just stopped ringing and I don't know how to get it back.

However, when I receive a notification while I'm doing something else, or heck even if I receive it while just looking at my phone, I want to be able to hit a button and make the noise stop! I realize I have an email, text, whatever, so now I want the .mp3/sound to stop and not continue to play the duration of the clip!

There does not seem to be a global setting for things, and there's not individual settings for this, for example, with the calender, you can't turn off the sounds without turning off the on-screen pop-up reminder. Any apps for this I wonder.

View 49 Replies View RelatedAt work I have my phone in my pocket, on vibrate, quite a bit and a lot of times I don't feel the initial vibration. So I end up missing the message until I physically take the phone out and look to see if I have any messages. My Dare that I just upgraded from sent out a vibration every couple of minutes until I checked the phone and dismissed the notifications. Would love to find out if this is possible with the DI.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I gave in and decided to download Handcent. I wasn't overly impressed with the HTC Message Widget and have heard such great things about Handcent. But, I'm having trouble getting the widget to work right. I have a blank home screen and added the Handcent SMS Widget to it. I thought that should make a full-screen widget like the other do. But instead it is just putting a tiny little Handcent icon as if it was a shortcut to the program (which essentially is what it is because if I click on it then Handcent opens). I have done this multiple times to make sure I was putting the widget and not the program there.

I have tried the volume keys, they don't work. I have tried the power/sleep key, it doesn't work. I have also tried swiping down the notification bar and opening the message from there but it still doesn't silence the sound.

Im new to Andriod. Came from WM, but i have 1000's of notification sounds that i have added to my notification sound folder on the SD card. Now how do i set one of those (.wav files) as a text message sound? Just figured it out. Menu>Settings>Sounds and Display>Notification Sound>Select Music>Music then whatever files you have downloaded or stored all show up.
