I uninstalled Handcent SMS and it wont default to the standard icon for the Default SMS that comes with android. Keeps showing the Black Smiley face even though I changed it to the standard icon before I uninstalled it.

I am not rooted. I got Better Cut and started changing all my icons but for some reason I cannot change my Handcent Icon. It is the only icon that I cant change...wondering why?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI sent a mass text out today. people started responding. But I am left with 1 notification for an unread text. Well, I have read that text, but it won't clear. I deleted the specific text, it won't clear the 1 in my status bar. When I pull my status bar dropdown menu, it shows the text, so I click on it and handcent force closes. I deleted the entire thread from the person, still didn't clear. Powered down, still didn't clear. DELETED handcent and reinstalled, still didn't clear.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIts not really a problem then an annoyance..does anyone know how I can make it so that when I receive a txt or an email and I open it in another way then the notification bar that my droid notification led will stop blink and the notifications will disappear from the disappearing notification bar? I'm just try to stop the fact that I have to go into LPP settings, make my bar re-appear, erase notifications, then make it so the bar disappears again.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI used Handcent for a while and I really liked it, however you can't send MMS using it for whatever reason which is a big deal breaker for me.I uninstalled it and went back to the original messaging application, but now it just closes randomly.Like I'll open it and it will close instantly. Then I open it again and it works fine.Other times it will open fine, but then I'll try to open up an conversation and it closes automatically, then when I open it again everything works fine.It is very annoying. It just closes out to the home screen. I've deleted all my existing messages and I've tried resetting my phone, nothing seems to help.

I had my notification tone set to a sound from a soundboard. I had downloaded from Android market, I have got sick of it and uninstalled the soundboard and set a different tone but now I get no notification tone at all even though it shows that I have a new notification tone set.

Even with her card formatted and mounted the USB icon in the notification bar will not show up on her phone; therefore making me feel dumb.

But reliability is Job 1, so I kept chompSMS for a few weeks.Then I heard that Handcent received a major update a few days ago, so I replaced chompSMS with Handcent. So far so good. View 2 Replies View RelatedPerhaps there is a thread already about this but I discovered today that if you long press on an app and then drag it down to the trash can and then hold it on the trash can for a few seconds a text pops up telling you to let go to uninstall.I have uninstaller, but this is a really handy quick way to uninstall a single app. Hope it helps.This applies only to Launcher Pro, apparently it does not work with stock as stated by the below posters. Sorry about the confusion.

Ever since I updated to 2.1 and 2.1v2.. Handcent will not show my unread count on the little icon in the top left corner. It did before I updated, but ever since, I cannot get the counter to work?
Has anyone else had this problem or more importantly, know a fix?
I got my Eris 2 days ago. I updated to 2.1 yesterday, using the update function. I notice there is a new notification? icon in the top bar. It never appeared before the update. I looked through the manual both for 1.5 and 2.1 and it is not listed. It looks like an over the ear earpiece facing to the right, with an arc next to it like the satellite icon has when it is connected.

Use case: Yahoo Weather app, the persistent notification in the pulldown is beautiful. I want it to always be there. However, the little temperature notification icon is pretty ugly, and I want to hide/disable it.
Using JB's "disable notifications" won't work since it will disable the entire notification, not just the icon.
Is there anyway to clear the New Voicemail Icon from the notification bar w/o actually Checking the voicemail? It doesn't seem to go away for me when I hit clear notfications lol..... IDK why but having notfications on my screen of any phone i've had has bothered me immensly... and I hate checking my voicemail for one message I kno I will be deleting in the 1st 2 seconds of listening too it
