"generic network failure" continually keeps me from getting and sending pics in handcent. What's the deal? They won't work in the HTC message app either.But when I first got the phone last Tuesday I received a pic from girlfriend just fine.Not sure what to do here.Anybody have any suggestions? Similar problems?

Hope someone can help me out with this one.I can't seem to get Handcent to display contact pictures. it did show the ones with Facebook contacts, but I rebooted my Hero, and selected 'fix uid mismatches' which I read would fix this, and now it doesn't show any pictures.

View 13 Replies View RelatedTrying to send a picture taken with the camera via Handcent and always says it is too large - it will "resize" it and retry but it never goes through. I increased the MMS size to max (1 M) but they still are not able to be sent. I then send them with the native messages app (that came loaded on the phone) and they will make it. Any trick I am missing? or other settings I need to change? I hope so b/c I think Handcent is great otherwise really like the bubbles. (I also tried it w/ Chomp and it did not work either).

1. I mounted my Hero to my computer.
2. I have the media folder with the files of RINGTONES, NOTIFICATIONS.
3. I have the mp3s that I want, in EACH folder.
4. Unmounted the Hero.
Now I'm lost, because I went to my settings to set a default ringtone for my phone calls, and they are not showing up. The only ones showing up are the ones that came with the phone. The same thing is happening for my notifications.I'm pretty illiterate when it comes to this kind of stuff, so if there is anyone out there with the patience to help me out step-by-step,

I have tried to implement my custom Content Provider, but method openFile returns ParcelFileDescriptor that points into filesystem (or socket). My pictures are in filesystem, but in encrypted form.
I have tried also URL.setURLStreamHandlerFactory, but in android java it is useless (because custom streamHandler can be register in jvm that is not allowed). I also try html code "img src="data:image.gif;base64,R0lGODlhiAAkAMQAANOOk...", but in embedded chrome it's not working.
I was just wondering if there was a way to protect certain pictures from showing up in the gallery while still allowing unprotected access to the others.

I goto my gmail account, I have 193 names there, including his, but on my phone I only have 183!
However, when I dialed his number, his name popped up!
Where are these contacts, and why aren't they syncing? If I do a search for his name on my phone, it does not show up either. This is a critical issue!
I went to my gmail account and 'touched' his name, changed his address from road to rd. Forced a sync, but still it doesn't show on my phone. I have my phone set to show 'all other contacts' , which is the group on my gmail account.
I am using AdWhirl for my ads and they aren't showing in my app when I run it in the emulator. I heard it sometimes takes a while, so i left it for 10 minutes but still nothing. I have disabled AdSense just to see if it would work with just AdMob, but it didn't help.It shows the same when AdSense is enabled except it says "AdSense Failure". Has anyone any ideas as to why they aren't showing?

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy friendstream and facebook app aren't working. Whenever I open friendstream it loads for a minute or two and then just tells me I have to force close it. And as for facebook the actual app works, but when I try to use the widget it tells me problem loading gadget. But if I delete it, reinstall it, and don't download the update it works fine. Is this just me or is it a problem with the app?

People send me pictures, they come through on my phone as a gray arrow pointing right like you should be able to click them and play the media, but nothing happens when you click them. I've confirmed that what they are sending me is just a picture taken with a sprint phone.. Why won't the picture display in handcent? What do I have to do to see these pictures?

About 2 days ago it started sending these "Download" boxes instead. I press the box that is in the txt msg and it reads "downloading".
Two Questions:
1. Where do those pix download to?
2. Sometimes it says "unable to download"..... now what?! It doesn't tell me why it cannot download the pic.
I have been using handcent for almost a month now. Sending or receiving pictures hardly ever works. Does anyone have any advice?

Anyways. Just got a Moto Droid. Downloaded Handcent SMS. It's great. However the ONE thing I can't figure out, is why do SOME of my contacts have their Facebook pictures, and others don't? I have "synched" with Facebook multiple times. The contacts I have saved have the exact same names as their Facebook profiles, so it should pop up, right?
I keep trying to attach pictures using Handcent. Keeps telling me pictures are too large and resizing. Then it always force closes handcent. I increased maximum MMS size to 1M. Never had this problem til after the update. Have done a factory reset. Only thing I have not done is uninstall Handcent and reinstall. Anybody else having his issue?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just copied all my music folders onto a SD card and those folders contained album art which does show up when i play music on my G1.
Unfortunately all the album art also shows up under "pictures". Is there anyway to tell the G1 to stop looking for pictures in my music folder?
Basically I downloaded the app ES File Explorer and I cut everything on the internal storage and pasted it in to my SD card. Everything worked perfectly except now I can't view any of my photos in the gallery, it seems as if they all just disappeared! I noticed something during the switch over from the internal to the SD card that a message about DCIM came up. Now apparently that has to do with photos and I just skipped it. I went into my SD card folder after and it only shows the pictures that have been screenshot and those that have been posted on Instagram. None of my pictures that have actually been taken with my camera are in my sd card folder neither in my internal storage.
Does this mean they have been deleted because I pressed skip during the transfer?
The phone I am using is the Motorola Razr I XT890.
I've been looking everywhere and I haven't found an answer still and it is frustrating the hell out of me.
When I go to messages, it lists a ton of e-mail addresses and duplicate names etc etc. When I go to people, these are not listed.
It seems like it is listing every single e-mail address i have ever e-mailed from my gmail account. How do I get rid of this??
For example: John Jones is not listed in "people". But if I go into messages, and check the contact list, it will show two entries:
"john jones: johnjones@gmail.com"
"john jones: johnjones@yahoo.com"
I was able to remove all of the facebook contacts it automatically added, which was stupid to begin with.
Has anyone been having this trouble lately? I've tried clearing out old messages and clearing the cache but yet it still force closes on almost every picture while resizing it.
