Suddenly stopped working for no reason. I've changed nothing in the settings and everything in default settings aswell as Handcent settings show that the sound is being used....but when I 'Test Notification' in Handcent there is no sound.

View 13 Replies View RelatedMy notification and alarm sound has stopped working however when I go to play music off my phone it still works.
I have gone into the Volume section under Sound and tried to mess with the volume levels. When I turn the alarm level up to the highest it can go, instead of playing my alarm sound it plays a very faint beeping noise. When I turn up my notification level it makes a similar beeping noise.
I have set a notification sound for both my ring and notification. When I recieve my text messages now, the phone only vibrates. It used to always give me the notification sound as well. Ringer notification is fine. It is not set in the vibrate mode.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've contacted handcent directly and looked in their forum but it appears that they don't provide good service to customers - no replies! I didn't much like Handcent so I uninstalled it and no notification sounds happened when I received a message. I went back to the stock messaging app and reset the notification sound but it didn't work. Reinstalled Handcent and the sounds came back. Unistalled and no sounds again. I was on 2.1 when it started but I'm now on 2.2 and the same issue happened (no Handcent when it was upgraded to 2.2 in case you're wondering and it didn't fix the problem). Anyone know how to completely remove all traces of Handcent and reset/reconfigure/reinstall the stock messaging app.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I get a text message Handcent plays a song from my MP3's. Even though I have set it to use a simple notification. The song plays all the way through too, the only way I can silence it is to turn off my ringer volume. But then I have no ringer.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe scenario: My phone is sleeping. I get a text message. I have Handcent. I open the notification but the sound continues going off. I can't figure out how to interupt it. I have tried the volume keys, they don't work. I have tried the power/sleep key, it doesn't work. I have also tried swiping down the notification bar and opening the message from there but it still doesn't silence the sound.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy alarm was working fine now the notification is no longer sounding. All other sounds, sms gmail email etc are ok. If you try and change the sound to a stock sound they don't sound either (so I don't think its to do with the SD card). Any ideas?
View 9 Replies View RelatedLast night I was bored and browsing through my soundboards looking for a new ringtone. I was opening and closing apps, running task killer, if I thought it necessary. Everything was fine, until all of a sudden my media volume stopped working. On screen, while I'm playing media, I can pull the volume up and down, but no sound comes out. The Alarm volume, and ringer volume continue to work. So this morning I snooped around the forums and decided to reset my phone. All was going well, until I accidentally played some mp3's that were on my SD card. Now the media volume has stopped working again and when I turn on my phone, my music app has attached itself to that screen that you have to pull down to log in.
I didn't request that, and can't find a way to turn that off in the settings. To be honest, I am a new user. I've had my hero for two weeks, and I'd love to know that my problems are user error and not a faulty phone. I've also re-downloaded task killer and am wondering if that was a bad choice. I'm still at the point of just playing with my phone: launching apps, installing, uninstalling, etc, and it seemed like a good idea. In a worst case scenario, I'm thinking of deleting the mp3's and doing another reset. But if I have to keep doing this regularly, the exercise will get a little old.
I am getting no ringer notifications when new emails come in. The new emails are not showing up in the top bar either, nor is the pulse notification light coming on or is the phone vibrating . And yes, all these utilities are turned on and have been triple checked.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI received my new Droid recently (yes, for Christmas), everything was working fine - even while using the Open Home feature.
However, some time this past week - or longer - the voice mail notification has stopped working. No blinky light, no icon, nothing. I have tested using the regular Home and the Open Home - same results. Just a missed call notification. Further troubleshooting steps I have taken was just powering off the phone and powering back on. I have also removed the battery for a couple of minutes and replaced, still the same. I have also cleared out all voicemails and left myself a voicemail, still same thing. Only the missed call notification.

I could just do a complete wipe and reload to see if that resolves my issue - but my question is, the applications I have paid for, will I have to pay for them again? Or does it keep track of what you purchase?
My light has stopped working. The LED isnt dead, cos I DL'd Missed Call from the Market, and it works with that app, but not when I get a text, tweet or FB invite/msg/event. It flashed green for: tweets and texts and Blue for FB notifications.

Set the Battery Full Notification - it worked well for awhile, then simply stopped. (???)
Text message notification still works fine, but not Battery Full. I have tried resetting, and volumes are turned up for everything including notifications.
The local store suggested that I look online for an answer (hence this post), they said the phone settings looked fine. If a fix isn't found online they will restore the phone to factory settings to see if that works.
Has anyone actually managed to change the colour of their LED? Handcent (the SMS app) gives you options to not only change the colour but also the frequency of LED flashes. I have set it up a few times but every time I get a text message, it is he usual green, slow flash - and even then it doesn't always work. Sometimes I look at my phone with no LED flashing at all, pick it up to do something else, then notice there is an unread text..

I looked across the forum and found that the best thing to do was reset the phone. I did this and all was perfect once more until I went to go to college and was listening to music but couldn't change tracks or pause using the hands-free kit. I have no idea how to get it working again and don't know if the reset had anything to do with it stopping working. All I know is it worked perfectly the other day.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my Desire for a couple of weeks now, and I love it! Have spent FAR too many evening customizing it and playing with it and even taking it along to the pub one evening and completely ignoring everyone else there because it had my undivided attention (yes, I know, very sad). Anyhow, very recently (as in, the last couple of days), MMS has stopped working. It first happened on Friday (I think) when I received one from a friend (well, I assumed it was one!) using Handcent. It showed up from the person with a Download button and when I pressed that, it changed to a Downloading which then did nothing. When I came out of and went back into Handcent, repeated those steps, and got the same outcome. I thought it was something to do with Handcent not being configured correctly for MMS - I hadn't sent or received one since installing and using Handcent - I had sent a received a couple using the default Messages app, which then subsequently were pulled through and displayed in Handcent fine. I thought nothing of it at the time, but I've just been playing with it again this afternoon and I can't get anything out of it. I've been trying in both Handcent and the default app to send a simple picture to myself, and it's not sending.
It did send once, for some reason, as I turned the phone off completely, I saw it suddenly send in the background and then low and behold when I booted it up, it was there - but even that hasn't worked this time?! In both Handcent and Messages the picture will sit there with the little spinning circle icon, doing nothing. In the "undelivered messages" section of both clients, they both report that that particular message is failing, but if I try a re-send it still just does nothing. I just can't think what has changed/why it isn't working - could it be Handcent? That's the only thing I can think (that would effect messaging) that could have caused a problem? Another thing is, although I've found the message centre number for my network (o2) in the settings for the default client, and I've found the Access Point details for O2 WAP and O2 MMS (which got downloaded automatically when I first set up the phone) I can't seem to find a way to reset them - I don't want to hit the Delete button on them if it is just left blank - is there a way of re-downloading the settings from the network? (or do I have to make a note of them and input them manually?!) I don't particularly want to have to do a factory reset for this either! It just seems as though, although the settings are there for MMS, neither application seems to be able to connection to the MMS-specific servers and whatnot!
My trackpad suddenly stopped working, I haven't dropped it or anything like that so I don't think it is a hardware problem.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThe first one the flashlight led stopped working in any app. It was returned. Now its replacement has another issue with the camera. I'm getting blocky colourful pixelation when the phone is on a gprs connection and I use the camera. At least that didn't happen on the first one. I'm getting seriously fed up with HTC. Will I get one that works properly? Might swap it for Samsung galaxy, but I know I'd miss sense. S there a fix for the camera bug? Updated software? It takes a perfect picture. It just looks wrong before you click the shutter.
View 21 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the froyo upgrade 2 days ago and it seems to have stopped my wifi working. Its not a problem with the router as other devices work on the router. I also checked my desire on other wifi networks and there is no connection to the internet. I manually put in the ip address and the wifi icon comes up but still no link to the internet. When I use my3G mobile internet everything works so it can only be a bug with froyo upgrade.
View 1 Replies View RelatedToday I plugged my Desire in to the USB socket, to top up the charge, and noticed the little USB icon/logo thing that usually shows up on the top left of the Desire's screen wasn't there. I checked in the phone's settings and it is still set to ask me what to do when I plug it in. I have tried a couple of leads (including the one HTC gave me) as well as both front and back USB ports. My PC is running windows 7 and it plays the chime when I plug my phone in.
It also appears in devices/printers but when I right click the phone and choose browse files it is greyed out! I have tried uninstalling the drivers etc, restarting the PC, I even tried to plug the phone into my netbook (running Ubuntu, which used to recognize the phone) but nothing works! It is not really the end of the world but I would like to sort it. The phone charges when I plug it in the USB socket on the PC. I suddenly thought 'I haven't rebooted the phone' so I did and all works as it should now.
Have been sending a few emails no problem, then suddenly the phone is saying the account setting is incorrect. I am not aware i have made any changes and everything looks ok in the account. I can still recieve but not send .

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had the Telus Desire for just under a week now and everything about the phone was working great until yesterday when the side volume buttons just stopped working. I can't adjust the ringer volume on my home screens, or the media volume when I'm running any apps or the in call volume either. I feel like I've accidentally triggered some volume lock, but I've searched for answers and come up empty. Does anyone have any ideas as to what happened or how I can solve this? They were working just fine up until yesterday, and I don't believe I installed or changed anything since the buttons were working.

Is it possible to get to the HTC's SMS message widget app to open up the Inbox of Handcent? I've turned everything off in the Desire's default messages app, but it still continues to open the HTC message app. Also when I've sent an SMS & press back, it automatically goes to the HTC message app?? Will pressing 'Force Stop' in the manage applications section stop the HTC app, or will it stop everything to do with the SMS functionality? I've read all I can on this & other sites, but I can't get it to change. Is this just the way it is & it may be altered in the future.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI purchased 2 HTC desire phones and whilst I am happy with them it appears there may be a bug as both phones seem to do it. Occasionally when a text message is received for some reason the notification sound doesnt go off. I know this for sure as I have had the phone right next to me waiting on a message thinking I didnt get it only to discover later it was actually delivered but no sound.Is this a known issue and if so is there a fix for it.
