I have been using Handcent for 2 days and didn't have any problems until last night. Its now showing only the phone number instead of the contact name. Has anyone had this problem? Any way to fix it?

Hey I think this was covered in a Hero forum but there was no good answer. Does anybody know why Handcent decides to not show facebook pictures from time to time?
View 2 Replies View RelatedGot my phone today and am a bit disappointed if i'm honest.First thing, there seems to be a huge lag in the email, is this normal? Am using gmail and i get the email through straight away on the PC but about 15-30 mins later on my phone. Am used to instant email on the blackberry.
Also, i wonder if i'm doing something wrong in contacts. Have set up all my numbers and set the names to be displayed but when they come through some show the email address instead of the name? Can i get round this?
Just bought a Samsung Vibrant and while everyone I have emailed in the past four years shows up in my contacts none of names/numbers I put into my G1 are. Used the same SIM card- traded it from the G1 to the Vibrant. Any tips?

I just get numbers and if I hold long I get my speed dial. How can I get it to work like a real phone. - Hit 7 4 times and get to the S in the phone book. Also anyway to get last name, first name?

But in a result I get only Contact names without visible numbers. To make things worse, if one contact has two numbers it occurs twice.
For those using Launcher Pro on your X, here's my problem. Maybe others have it too. I added my Gmail and Text Messages shortcuts to my dock and check-marked the options to have the number of unread emails and messages show up. However, those numbers are not showing up on the icons whenever I get new emails or texts. Anyone else experiencing this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded the new updated version (complete with adverts)of Handcent to try it out as I hearing such glowing comments on it. When I open the programme I see all the threads but all I have is the mobile numbers and No Contact names associated with them.
Could someone kindly tell me what I have to do to get the names up please. I have been looking through the settings but cant see anything, do I need to make sure the stock messaging app is unticked first to get the names to appear?
I just downloaded Handcent and for some reason when I get a text not only does Handcent show a notification so does the defualt and the ringtone goes off twice? How do I set it up so only handcent works. Thank You
View 1 Replies View RelatedCan someone explain to me why my phone is showing 2 different ROM names. the ACTUAL ROM thats installed is Aloysius and i know this becuase the icons and layout difference between Fresh and Aloysius.
if you look under CURRENT ROM in RM it says Fresh, but under Build, it says the Aloysius. Both updates are available for the ROMs and i dont know which one to do.
id get calls and texts from people on my contact list and only the phone number shows up, not the name! I have rebooted twice, and done a batter pull. Still nothing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter one of the recent handcent updates, I entered a number to send a text message. This number was not in my contacts. I entered the number, and it changed the number at the top to a persons name, who isn't in my contacts, and does not have the same number. They are my friend on facebook however. Is handcent linking with facebook? How do I turn this off? It's telling me this conversation is with the wrong person as of now, and I don't know if it's even sending to the right number.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI think this is a Handcent issue because I'm not really seeing it in the default app. For some reason I get multiple numbers for a contact when sending a SMS- the same number! I have one contact that when I select to send an SMS to, I get 7 options to choose to send to, and guess what, all 7 are the same phone number. And its not a format issue, it still duplicates if the number has brackets over the area code or just dashes. Not sure what to do and when I go into the individual contact (using People) the number is only listed once.

Let me explain : When I go on PEOPLE I see my contacts there , if I click on them I cant see any phone number or mail nothing it just show me the contact name then under the name I see DETAILS then INFORMATION and down I can read ringtone and send to voicemail and then last Edit. Why is that? I dont think is normal and honestly makes me really depressed coz I cant call normally.

My only issue so far is that even though I've selected in the People app only to display Google contacts there seems to still be Facebook contacts appearing, albeit only the ones who have entered phone numbers into their Facebook profile. This causes duplicate entries for the same person in messaging apps (default and Handcent) and in the People app it seems to prefer to show the Facebook contact details rather than the Google ones.

They won't work in the HTC message app either.But when I first got the phone last Tuesday I received a pic from girlfriend just fine.Not sure what to do here.Anybody have any suggestions? My problem now is, I can't delete certain numbers from contacts. For instance, my girl friend's number has "411" as her primary number (not sure how that happened). It wont let me delete it from her contacts card now :*(
When I bring up the list of contacts in the Phone app (not the People app) it shows left and right arrows. However, they don't do anything.So if I want to use a different number for a contact (ie home vs cell) I have to actually hit the Rolodex icon and then select the number.I n every other phone I've had one could always select which number to call. Of course there is always the default number chosen when first setting up the contact.So how does one do this from the list in the phone app?
