One of the reasons I rooted was so I could do screenshots (nerdy I know). Has anyone found an app that works on the DX once rooted. I tried this one;

and all it did was create some "blank" 1kb PNG files in the screenshot folder.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo recently I obtained a new 16 GB micro SD card which worked fine with my previous phone and typically worked well with my Galaxy SII as well, but when I went to transfer files from my computer to the card I ran into an issue. After all the files we're transferred it all seemed fine, but shortly afterward I ran into a blank SD card notification and was prompt to format via phone, which managed to format successfully. So then I went through the process again, this time putting nearly everything through a file converter before transferring. Again, everything seemed fine until a short while later when I have a blank card and prompt to format yet again. And like before the formatting seemed to work fine.
And to provide a bit more information that may be relevant, since our computer doesn't seem to play nice with my SD card (no window pops up after inserting and when attempting to read the card via My Computer it simply locks up and becomes unresponsive) when I transferred the files I did so through having my old phone plugged in with the card inserted and managed to get to it that way. With the second attempt I just used my current phone instead with hopes that it would work better that way. Unfortunately the same issue occurred as mentioned above.
So that pretty much covers it. If I had to guess it would seem that a hiccup is occurring with the transfer process that makes the card appear blank shortly afterward. Would be nice to find a way to prevent this from happening again.
I'm having a small problem which is sort of annoying. No it's really annoying.Every once in a while I'll click on my app drawer and it's completely blank.Closing it and reopening it doesn't seem to work. I have to wait about ~1 minute for it to start working again.Also, when I wake my phone up and unlock it, I can't swipe to a different screen for about 10 seconds after I unlock the phone.It's also rather annoying.Has anyone ran into these problems and have a solution?I did some searching on here and the only thing I could find was this issue with people who are running different ROM's.I am running stock.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have seen this buried within a couple of other threads, and thought it was worth starting a new thread on this issue, since I suspect it is getting more common. The issue is immediately when placing or receiving calls the screen goes blank, and locks up. I can not press the bottom on top right to wake it up. The only thing that wakes it up, is to open it to the keyboard. This started yesterday, I called Verizon and was transferred to Technical Support, Technical support tried to blame it on a Battery widget that I installed several days earlier. I told her my sister has had it on her Droid for months with no problems, she said I probably had a bad version. Even though I was not convinced, I removed the widget from my phone to test the fix, but it still died. Then she told me to hard reset, and again I was not convinced, so I took it in to a Verizon store, after 5 minutes the Technician decided to give a me new phone. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

But my wife loves my phone so I plan on giving her mine and either getting another eris and rooting or a Moto Droid and rooting. I've been trying to read up on the Droid and the different ROMS available and have some questions.First I want to make a few things clear:
1. This IS NOT a phone comparison.
2. The Incredilble IS NOT an option since it can't be rooted and I don't want to spend $200 on it.
3. I'm looking for WELL INFORMED OPINIONS, if you don't have one keep moving there is nothing to see here.
To be fair I've obviously done a lot more reading on the Eris which is why I'm looking for well informed opinions from Droid owners that way I can make a well informed decision.

View 13 Replies View Relatedso been rooted for quite some time now, got my droid out of my pocket and its just a blank screen.Tried multiple battery pulls, memory card pulls, boots into recovery, nothing will get it to reboot again. its essentially bricked.I wasn't flashing anything battery was just charged, everythign was fine, 800mhz kernel.Now my question is can I return this phone to the Verizon store and still be under warranty, I've had the phone the day it came out with no problems.I think the screen just went out, I can still move the buttons on the screen even when they don't show, and I can also lock the phone with the lock button. Still will I be okay returning this on warranty with the screen out and rooted?

I would see the wallpaper and the 3 icons on the bottom of the screen (phone, application drawer, and contacts). It'd lag for a bit before things show up. The buttons on the bottom of the phone will light on and off when pressing the power button. What am i suppose to do in this situation or any other situation where my Droid isnt acting right? Well, i didnt know what to do so i just took out the battery and put it back in. I am not sure if thats the proper way of doing it. I hope my phone will be okay after that. It said something about using the camera button to take a screenshot "but don't forget to turn it off when you are finished" Now pushing the cam button gives me a presestent "screenshot failed" message that hangs there for minutes on the screen, I don't remember the name of the app, have looked CAREFULLY thru all the apps installed to no avail, nothing like that is shownig in TasKiller, nothing in the download list.Driving me crazy. Maybe it was some part of something else I turned on? Ring any bells with anyone?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI uploaded about 50 pictures from iPhoto (using a Mac) just to see what they looked like and then later formatted the Droid's SD card, so the pictures were no longer there.
Now, if I mount the Droid via USB and view the file structure there is a folder named /albumthumbs which contains 50 files, presumably for the 50 pictures a had on the SD card.
To me, these file, unless linking to actual photos stored on the SD card, take up extra space in the phone's memory (not worried about the SD card). I wonder if I can safely delete them (just the files...not the folder)?
I'm nearly ready to publish my OpenGL game. I've been browsing this newsgroup and I've seen quite a few posts regarding crashes, blank screens, etc when running an OpenGL application on the Droid. I have three questions:
1) What are some common pitfalls that occur when trying to support the Droid/Nexus One? So far, I've tested my game on the Android 2.0 emulator (both WVGA & FWVGA) and everything works fine but I'm still paranoid.
2) I've placed my textures (png) in the assets folder. Will these images be pre-scaled automatically? I've read about specifying density independent images for resources but do the same rules apply for images stored in the assets folder? I'm afraid that pre-scaling will cause my textures to become non-power of 2.
3) What additional strategies have developers been taking to ensure their application works on the newer devices when they only have access to G1/G2 hardware?
Well, it's being reported, however not confirmed that the Droid Incredible has finally been rooted.He's also reporting that he's OCed to 1.5GHz.What's more he's working on 2GHz.Good Lord, could you imagine?I've been saying that as of right now, based on personal preference, that a rooted Droid is the best option.But this will def start to sway opinions, including mine.
