Motorola Droid X :: Sd Card Reader Showing Blank Card
Aug 17, 2010today I put my sd card into my sd card reader to throw some photos on to my computer. After I was done i put the sd card back into my droid and booted it up. After booting I get a notification saying my SD card is blank, so I turn off the phone and pull the battery out. When I grabbed my SD card it burnt my hand "literally" it was that hot... Wtf?!?! I put the SD card back in the reader and the computer doesnt even see the card. Idk if anyone has heard of a similar problem b4 and knows a fix...Thanks in advance! Side Note; I work at a cell phone repair store, so I put the sd card in two other blackberry's and they say "your sd card needs to be formated or it is corrupt". I put other sd cards into my phone and i have no problems.

Jun 12, 2010My brother just bought a Milestone and he's having problems with the SD card (8gb). What happens is that he put some music on his phone, and with the program Ringdroid, began to cut some songs. Then, the phone began to crash, he restarted it. After restarting, the device didn't recognize the memory, saying "Blank sd card or unsupported system", occasionally rebooting, indicates that it was removed. I have looked in other threads and google it, but found nothing useful. I can't unmount or format it from the phone. And as I have the G1, I put my card (that works) on Milestone and got the same problem, so I think it's not the SD. I've already formatted it, nothing.

Sep 7, 2010What is the difference between these two apps? I am planning on rooting eventually and DL'd My Backup Pro and made backups of my apps and data on my SD card. Am I going to regret not getting Titanium Backup, or are they basically the same? Also, is what I did sufficient backup; backing up apps and data to my SD card? Or is there something else I am missing?

Dec 11, 2009I just got my Eris today. I am trying to switch my pics and infor from my old Sd card (it was only 256MB) to the new one that came with the phone.
Also I cant seem to save any pics, or at least I cant find them. When I put the old SD in, I can see those ones, just not new ones.
I switched from a G1 to this. So far they seem pretty simliar, this is the only issue I am having. I love how much lighter this phone is. My G1 was way to bulky for me.

Jul 15, 2010This is my first android device and i'm loving it... but one thing that irks me is the use, or lack thereof, of the back button.
As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.

May 5, 2012My 16GB SD card is now saying it is a Blank SD card , when I select to format, it says " External Media in Unknown State'. I tried formating it with an other phone and connected to into a card reader, but it doesn't even read it.

Apr 2, 2010My Desire has suddenly stopped recognizing my 4GB SD Card today. Just says it's blank and needs formatting! When I try to access the card via my PC it just wants to format it but when I bring up the format window the PC only sees 30MB and a format of FAT. The Properties show it formatted as RAW. No it's really annoying.Every once in a while I'll click on my app drawer and it's completely blank.Closing it and reopening it doesn't seem to work. Nov 2, 2010could be losing my mind here but I've noticed that when I have added information to my contacts (note section particularly) when I go to check it there is no sign of it, and on one occaision I was checking my recent saved entry and the note section vanished infront of my eyes! My contacts sync with Google and when I add the info to the notes section in google on my laptop it stays on the phone ok.

Even if I delete it, it will reappear. Even if I try black list it will reappear. The date of the text message used to be consistently the same as well as the same time until today. Dec 16, 2011So recently I obtained a new 16 GB micro SD card which worked fine with my previous phone and typically worked well with my Galaxy SII as well, but when I went to transfer files from my computer to the card I ran into an issue. After all the files we're transferred it all seemed fine, but shortly afterward I ran into a blank SD card notification and was prompt to format via phone, which managed to format successfully. So then I went through the process again, this time putting nearly everything through a file converter before transferring. Again, everything seemed fine until a short while later when I have a blank card and prompt to format yet again. And like before the formatting seemed to work fine.
And to provide a bit more information that may be relevant, since our computer doesn't seem to play nice with my SD card (no window pops up after inserting and when attempting to read the card via My Computer it simply locks up and becomes unresponsive) when I transferred the files I did so through having my old phone plugged in with the card inserted and managed to get to it that way. With the second attempt I just used my current phone instead with hopes that it would work better that way. Unfortunately the same issue occurred as mentioned above.
So that pretty much covers it. If I had to guess it would seem that a hiccup is occurring with the transfer process that makes the card appear blank shortly afterward. Would be nice to find a way to prevent this from happening again.
Motorola Droid :: Screen Goes Blank During Calls
Apr 17, 2010I have seen this buried within a couple of other threads, and thought it was worth starting a new thread on this issue, since I suspect it is getting more common. The issue is immediately when placing or receiving calls the screen goes blank, and locks up. I can not press the bottom on top right to wake it up. The only thing that wakes it up, is to open it to the keyboard. This started yesterday, I called Verizon and was transferred to Technical Support, Technical support tried to blame it on a Battery widget that I installed several days earlier. I told her my sister has had it on her Droid for months with no problems, she said I probably had a bad version. Even though I was not convinced, I removed the widget from my phone to test the fix, but it still died. Then she told me to hard reset, and again I was not convinced, so I took it in to a Verizon store, after 5 minutes the Technician decided to give a me new phone. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Jul 6, 2011Seen this error. My sd card is not readable on any android phone or computer ive tried it on.
What I think broke it was the NEW SD CARD storage optimizer by Kalyani, I opened it up after downloading off the android market and used a feature called file explorer. It took forever to read all the files on my card and eventually I closed it out before its completion and immediately noticed my sd card is now inaccesable.
Is that error fixable or should I throw out the card?

Jul 8, 2010so been rooted for quite some time now, got my droid out of my pocket and its just a blank screen.Tried multiple battery pulls, memory card pulls, boots into recovery, nothing will get it to reboot again. its essentially bricked.I wasn't flashing anything battery was just charged, everythign was fine, 800mhz kernel.Now my question is can I return this phone to the Verizon store and still be under warranty, I've had the phone the day it came out with no problems.I think the screen just went out, I can still move the buttons on the screen even when they don't show, and I can also lock the phone with the lock button. Still will I be okay returning this on warranty with the screen out and rooted?
