The X will hopefully be my first smartphone. I know it comes with 7 screens to fill up. That's a lot for some used to a feature phone. How are you Android/smartphone veterans going to organize your stuff?

I updated my phone manualy to 2.1 but i dont have the additional homescreens, or the new app launcher, is their a way i can enable these i have everything else except these two.

Do you just put a few frequently used icons on your home screen and left the rest in the drawer? Do you create folders for different categories (Games, Utils, Social, etc) and place apps in there? Do you just load up your 3 home screens (or more if you have a home replacement) with EVERYTHING from the drawer?

View 2 Replies View Relatedhow y'all organize your music on the Eris. I have been just clicking and dragging from the computer to the SD card in a folder created "music." I would like to group all my songs into genres (blues, rock, etc.). The only way I've been able to do this is by adding songs to a playlist on the phone, which is way to time consuming. I have yet to sync my desktop w/ my computer. Would this make organizing any easier?

Since joining this forum I've been surfing around looking at what a desire is capable of and I want to utilize it potential. I was wondering if someone could help me customize my phone the way they are in the show us your homescreen thread. I want to customise it with a variety of apps and hopefully have a finishing product like everyone else has. I've tried searching around but can't seem to find a guide. I would love to know how to do cool things to the phone and open to opinions and advice by anyone.

I use Launcher Pro right now, but I'm hoping somebody has a way to get Sense to do this, especially if it'll let me use the new Sense this way down the road. Anybody seen a ROM or anything that'll do this?
Also does anybody know how to get Launcher Pro to lock into landscape on the homescreens?

I'm not sure how to put this so I'll try my best.When you have a picture as your wallpaper do you notice that when sliding between the screens they move ever so slightly?For example, I have an image of the lion in my avatar perfectly in the centre of my home screen, yet when I move the screen to the left or right it seems to move the image and cut some off. Is there a way around this?I've seen it on some people's screen shots but I'm not sure how to do it with a picture that you decide to use as a homescreen. No worries if it can't be done. I would like to disable/remove some of my unused homescreens. However, I don't want a program that completely hijacks my interface. So far I have tried pando, ahome, and open home. Can anyone suggest a way for me to delete some empty homescreens while not hijacking my interface.

Home screen images, by their very nature work best when they are simple or abstract because they have a load of stuff going on over the top of them. But in the lock screen it would be really great to see a proper picture, where it doesn't matter what's going on because there's nothing in front of it!

At the top left, what are the little check marks on bar? Also on the power control widget what are the two icons next to bluetooth? Also is there a way to change website shortcuts on the homescreens icon?

Yesterday I downloaded OPEN HOME... not sure if that effected it or what, but now when I try to set a wallpaper... its long and vertical and doesn't scroll with screens... its a stationary wallpaper... Any pic I set does this except for the pre set wallpapers on the phone...
