How can I set the number of homescreens to 1 instead of 3?
Android 1.6, rooted. Would rather not install a launcher replacement.
Running Android 1.6 on a HTC MyTouch. I want to use this as a template for thirty other androids, so I am using Android Kitchen to make a custom ROM.

How to get more than 3 homescreens? I found the setting, but 3 is the max and quite lame might I add.

Since joining this forum I've been surfing around looking at what a desire is capable of and I want to utilize it potential. I was wondering if someone could help me customize my phone the way they are in the show us your homescreen thread. I want to customise it with a variety of apps and hopefully have a finishing product like everyone else has. I've tried searching around but can't seem to find a guide. I would love to know how to do cool things to the phone and open to opinions and advice by anyone.

I really like using my phone in landscape any time I can, including on my homescreens. I use Launcher Pro right now, but I'm hoping somebody has a way to get Sense to do this, especially if it'll let me use the new Sense this way down the road. Anybody seen a ROM or anything that'll do this?
Also does anybody know how to get Launcher Pro to lock into landscape on the homescreens?
The X will hopefully be my first smartphone. I know it comes with 7 screens to fill up. That's a lot for some used to a feature phone. How are you Android/smartphone veterans going to organize your stuff?

I'm not sure how to put this so I'll try my best.When you have a picture as your wallpaper do you notice that when sliding between the screens they move ever so slightly?For example, I have an image of the lion in my avatar perfectly in the centre of my home screen, yet when I move the screen to the left or right it seems to move the image and cut some off. Is there a way around this?I've seen it on some people's screen shots but I'm not sure how to do it with a picture that you decide to use as a homescreen. No worries if it can't be done. Is there a way of setting a different lockscreen image to the one displayed on the homescreens?
Home screen images, by their very nature work best when they are simple or abstract because they have a load of stuff going on over the top of them. But in the lock screen it would be really great to see a proper picture, where it doesn't matter what's going on because there's nothing in front of it!
It's a small request, but it would be nice to have all the same! Any apps that can do it?
At the top left, what are the little check marks on bar? Also on the power control widget what are the two icons next to bluetooth? Also is there a way to change website shortcuts on the homescreens icon?

Yesterday I downloaded OPEN HOME... not sure if that effected it or what, but now when I try to set a wallpaper... its long and vertical and doesn't scroll with screens... its a stationary wallpaper... Any pic I set does this except for the pre set wallpapers on the phone...

I would like to forward all calls to my number on to the new predefined number automatically. Is it possible to forward incoming call? Probably it is possible for Froyo at least. I found application called Easy Call Forwarding. But many people reckon it dosen't work actually. We can notice forwarded call by onCallForwardingIndicatorChanged() from PhoneStateListener but I have no idea how to set forwarding mode.

I have tried all the different power volume button combos that were suggested on web, also have tried downloading the program to my pc to share info with the tablet, but the information sharing must not be turned on in the tablet, as when the device showed up in my computer it was empty! View 2 Replies View RelatedI've experienced two problems with Google Voice that are causing me to get charged minutes I wouldn't usually get charged. If I can't solve them, I'll have to go back to using my Verizon number. First, let me say that I'm using a new Google Voice number that isn't Verizon cell phone number or any other preexisting number. Second, my girlfriend is on my family plan, but she doesn't have GV yet. We're using the 700-minute plan, so we don't have a friends circle.
Problem 1: When I call my girlfriend's Verizon wireless phone using the GV on my Verizon phone, I get charged, and when she calls my GV number on my Verizon Wireless phone from her Verizon wireless phone, she gets charged. We don't cash in on our free in-network calling. I know, this should have been obvious, but it just never occurred to me until after I looked at the bill. I'd be able to work with that, though, and just select "Call without using Google Voice" or whatever when calling her if it weren't for the second problem. When people call my Google Voice number, I get charged when I don't answer. Usually, it's just a one-minute charge, but sometimes it's two or three minutes (don't know why). With anything less than an unlimited plan, minutes count. Not good.
Basically, i use my personal cell phone for work and personal use, i have multiple exchange accts that keep things sorted and seperated.
recently though i have been getting more and more business calls to my cell phone, during and outside of normal business hours.
what im looking for is an app that will take a selective group of contacts/phone numbers/CID strings and if it is a "business" call then forward it to a specific phone number (external number, the actual business line).
I have seen apps on the market and around that will forward calls to voicemail if they match certain filters, but i cant really seem to find an app that will forward to an external number. Any way I could accomplish this?
