So this may be a silly question. Folders are great for organizing like-apps, like Games, Utilities, chat etc. I know how to rename folders but is there any way to organize apps once they're IN a folder....or can you only do it by the order they were dropped in there?

I am trying to do the custom icons but i cannot find the folder "dcim". I downloaded Astro and when i click on the SDcard i only see (albums, download, logs, LOST.DIR, Playlist, tmp). not sure what to do.

I have made a folder with shortcuts to direct dial. This way I can have my one touch favorite phone list.

Well, the question is... How do Android organize your files? In Windows, for example, I could create some folders, one for each site, or one for each time period. But in Android, how does it work? Is there a system of folders like Windows? Or is there a totally different way to organize files?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI can successfully customize folder icons on a removable Flash Disk using Desktop.ini file and a separate icon file. But I am unable to do the same thing on folders on the connected phone device that, for all I know, is similar to a removable device. The phone is a Samsung Droid Charge. When I copy the Desktop.ini and the folder containing the icon file from the pc to the memory card, nothing happens. The icons for the folders still have the same default appearance. Don't know how many people care to have custom icons but it is a nice thing to have when you are always trying to identify a few folders from many.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have tried using Better Cut and Folder Organiser in order to change the icons on my HTC Desire. However, when I try and do this for Messaging, Email or People application, it always reverts back to the standard HTC icon.
How have other people got round this? Or is this just a problem I am experiencing? I am un-rooted.
Is there a way to change the default folder icons? I DON'T want to use an app because I like how the default one works. It's fast and simple.
I'm using Launcher Pro (free) on a rooted g2x (Eaglesblood cm7 rom).
I have the Chrome bookmarks widget on my homescreen, and the first spot is taken up by the "Mobile Bookmarks" folder (see screenshot). This is really annoying. When I first started using the widget, this was not the case, after a while it just appeared there.
Anyway to avoid this? Maybe even a way to change the order of the bookmarks?
If not, is there any way to remove the "Mobile bookmarks", "Desktop bookmarks" and "Other bookmarks" folders in Chrome so I could just have my bookmarks in one place?

how y'all organize your music on the Eris. I have been just clicking and dragging from the computer to the SD card in a folder created "music." I would like to group all my songs into genres (blues, rock, etc.). The only way I've been able to do this is by adding songs to a playlist on the phone, which is way to time consuming. I have yet to sync my desktop w/ my computer. Would this make organizing any easier?
