Just got my new Droid X on Saturday, and started playing with it...first installing LauncherPro, and Beautiful Widgets.
Then I started to play with the camera taking pictures...I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to change the "save location" on the phone for when it takes the photos. I don't know whether the photos are being saved to the SD Card (like I WANT), or to the internal memory (which I don't!).

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I take a picture with my Droid X, and it doesn't save at all.It seems to be tied to the GPS, because if I wait for the GPS to tag the photo, then it SEEMS to work MOST of the time. Thing is, I can't wait for the GPS all of the time, I just want a point and click cam. I have tried disabling the GPS and it doesn't seem to work until I reboot the phone. Anyone else having this issue, any suggestions?

View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery Froyo based ROM I have tried when I take a picture its saturated purple. Its not blurry or anything just really purple. I tried setting the white balance and nothing seems to work. When I switch back to a 2.1 rom everything is fine. This is the only thing keeping me from staying with 2.2.

However a new problem has emerged I have found out today. When I try to take a picture with the phones camera it doesn't save the picture, it doesn't ask me to save and it sure doesn't do it on its own either.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am extremely happy with my DX. My only complaint is the quality of the camera in low light. Every picture I take looks grainy. At times the flash washes everything out. I know it's just a camera and I shouldn't expect much, but for such a great device that does everything else, it's a bit of a bummer. I've been looking at low light photos from the SF and they appear to be worlds apart. Does anyone have any hints to get decent looking photos in low light?
View 5 Replies View RelatedGot the Droid X on 7/15, everything was great, got the system update, now the camera won't work. Black screen only, even though both the Camera and Camcorder apps behave like they're working (with a black screen). Cannot take pictures at all, can take video, although no image is shown and playback of videos is a completely black screen.
I look in the camera and it looks like the shutter is open, although I'm not 100% certain what a closed shutter would look like. I think I can see the lens.
I did a full System Restore, the problem did not go away.
I've tried the camera app from the marketplace, facebook, etc., all treat the camera in the same way: just a black screen.
Trying to take a picture, the focus noise doesn't even sound.
This was working prior to the update, albeit in a leggy manner. Should I return my Droid X, or is there some other software / use fix I have not tried?
So does anyone know the location of the sound file for the double-beep camera focus? I found the "camera_click" and the "videorecord" sound files but don't see the one for the focus. It's not located in system/media/audio/ui like the other 2 camera sound files.
I really hate the double-beep focus sound and yes I know 3rd party camera applications will enable you to silence it but I was looking to just replace the sound file with a silent sound file instead.
Anyone know how to turn off the sound of when a picture is taken, the snap sound?

Flash Mode says auto under it, but the box is grayed out and I cannot select it to change it.
This is the same for the auto focus feature, I am unable to select that as well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Iocean X7S phone, which runs perfect except one problem. X7S has opportunity to save apps to either internal storage, phone storage or external SD-card. Every location works as saving files. However, I can't use phone storage as apps saving location. There is Phone storage and SD card opportunities in Settings -> Storage -> 'Default write disk' . However, whichever I choose as primary, there doesn't happen anything. If external SD card is mounted, there is "Move to SD card" button in apps and a tab 'SD card' in Settings -> Apps. If I unmount SD card, there disappears opportunity to choose primary save location, SD card tab and button to move app another location. However, there reads 'Phone storage app 0.00B' and 'Phone storage data 0.00B' in apps instead of 'SD card app and data' when SD card is unmounted. So I think it is some kind of software issue.
I have tried factory reset different ways without any result, there is still only opportunity to keep apps in internal storage or SD-card. In storagesdcard0 is external SD-card and sdcard1 is phone storage.
Anyone know how to save a picture that has been sent to you via a text message? If you view the picture and touch the screen, the only option is to save it as wall paper or use as a contact picture?

If there is no image available for the list item (i.e. it can't be found on the Internet), I want a default placeholder image to display. This is the image that I have defined in my list_item_row.xml file as the default.
In my ListActivity file, I am calling an instance of a CustomCursorAdapter class I have written. It is in CustomCursorAdapter where I am iterating through all the list items and defining what content needs to be mapped to the views, including the image file by trying to read it from internal memory.
I've seen several questions on this subject, but the examples either are specific to external phone memory (e.g. SDCard), involve saving strings instead of images, or involve using Bitmap.CompressFormat to reduce the resolution of the file (which is unnecessary in my case, as these images will be small thumbnails of already-small resolution). Trying to piece together code from each example has been difficult, hence my asking about my specific example.
At the moment, I believe I've written valid code, but no image is displaying for my list items, including the default placeholder image. I don't know if the problem is being caused by invalid download/save code, or invalid read code - it doesn't help that I don't know how to check internal memory to see if the image exists.Anyways, here's my code...
Is there a way to disable the location coordinate stamp on pics taken with the Droid X camera? I've gone into the camera settings, but can't find anything related to turning this on and off.

Right now I would rather pay to downgrade to another phone like a BB or even pay full retail value for a completely different Droid because I am afraid if they send me another Eris it is just going to break again.
If I call VZW and talk to them, will they send me another Eris that will most likely to break or will they send me a D1 or an Incredible?
I love my Eris but i just can't use it anymore and i feel like i will keep having problems if they keep sending me refurbs.
I can't figure out why I'm getting corrupted images when I save them in my app.In fact the thumbnail seems to be fine, but the actual image is corrupted, as if the stride value is not being set correctly.

To test i took a couple pics of my computer monitor, they are nice and bright just after camera takes the pic but when i go to albums to view them they are considerably darker. I even bumped the brightness all the way up to +3 that helped some but still dark.
