Every Froyo based ROM I have tried when I take a picture its saturated purple. Its not blurry or anything just really purple. I tried setting the white balance and nothing seems to work. When I switch back to a 2.1 rom everything is fine. This is the only thing keeping me from staying with 2.2.

Used my camera this morning, then i went to use it again this afternoon and something seemed to have stopped it from working properly between then and now. With both the camera and camcorder all i get is this transparent purple/pinkish color. I dont know anything about cameras but is there something wrong with the lens? View 8 Replies View RelatedJust got my new Droid X on Saturday, and started playing with it...first installing LauncherPro, and Beautiful Widgets.
Then I started to play with the camera taking pictures...I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to change the "save location" on the phone for when it takes the photos. I don't know whether the photos are being saved to the SD Card (like I WANT), or to the internal memory (which I don't!).
Is it possible that someone could create an App for the Camera to improve picture quality? Is it even possible to improve things like Shutter speed, blurriness, grain in picture and ISO through an App?

However a new problem has emerged I have found out today. When I try to take a picture with the phones camera it doesn't save the picture, it doesn't ask me to save and it sure doesn't do it on its own either.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am extremely happy with my DX. My only complaint is the quality of the camera in low light. Every picture I take looks grainy. At times the flash washes everything out. I know it's just a camera and I shouldn't expect much, but for such a great device that does everything else, it's a bit of a bummer. I've been looking at low light photos from the SF and they appear to be worlds apart. Does anyone have any hints to get decent looking photos in low light?
View 5 Replies View RelatedGot the Droid X on 7/15, everything was great, got the system update, now the camera won't work. Black screen only, even though both the Camera and Camcorder apps behave like they're working (with a black screen). Cannot take pictures at all, can take video, although no image is shown and playback of videos is a completely black screen.
I look in the camera and it looks like the shutter is open, although I'm not 100% certain what a closed shutter would look like. I think I can see the lens.
I did a full System Restore, the problem did not go away.
I've tried the camera app from the marketplace, facebook, etc., all treat the camera in the same way: just a black screen.
Trying to take a picture, the focus noise doesn't even sound.
This was working prior to the update, albeit in a leggy manner. Should I return my Droid X, or is there some other software / use fix I have not tried?

Flash Mode says auto under it, but the box is grayed out and I cannot select it to change it.
This is the same for the auto focus feature, I am unable to select that as well.
So I know this has been a recurring problem, the quick keys at the bottom of the screen being purple.But no one has ever figured out what to do about it?Is there a way to cover them up or something so they aren't visable at all?It may be my OCD acting up, but i feel disgusted at the prospect of having to look at a phone whose 4 buttons are different colors for the next two years.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had nothing but great success with the leaked Froyo that I've been running since Saturday afternoon. Battery life seems to be improved, haven't noticed any FC's, etc... until today. I know that the Droid has had some camera issues namely the 24.5 auto focus bug and the auto focus hardware becomes faulty but this is new to me. I didn't have this problem with 2.0.1, stock 2.1, rooted 2.1, Pete's BB, Fab's NexBeast. There have been numerous kernels on the phone as well and going back through my gallery nothing was blurry. I have wiped the lens, made sure the camera app is on auto-focus, I've clicked the button once, twice, halfway, a dozen times, etc and I've even tried FXCamera - if the subject is more than 6" away it is blurry. I'm running the 1.0 P3 kernel but 1.1 & 1.2 have given me the same issue. I've tried this at 1Ghz, 800, 600 & 400Mhz. I know this is pre-release but is anyone else having the same issue?

I told tmobile that and she said it could be my SIM so I get a new one and that doesn't help. I'm about ready to call them and get a new one through my warranty.

Every time I press it to use my camera it keeps lowering my ringer volume and when im in the camera mode(from app) it wont snap any pics, it just takes me back to my main page and lower the volume. Can anyone help me out?

Before Froyo, I was able to attach a picture to a text and if I left the message area blank, it would not convert it into a slideshow. I am not able to do that anymore. I've tried starting the process from the Gallery and the Camera, but I can not find a solution for it. Is this the same for anyone else?

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I spent the last hour or more in my backyard in 107 degrees taking pictures of flowers at stock settings with both phones. NOT an easy task I will tell you that. My back hurts, but besides that... I did my best to show the best quality of BOTH cameras, because they are both great. I realize that not everyone will agree with me, or will think I messed with something in my pictures. But these are all completely stock settings, not messed with at all. I only touched the flash on/off button.
My decision is I like the X camera better, it is easier to focus, and much snappier. Plus designated camera button! I found on the Incredible while the pictures look great on the phone itself and in gallery, that as soon as they were uploaded the colours looked washed out and not as great. I know this is due to the AMOLED screen. But both overall great. My decision is the X though.

Hi Guys! I'm coding a little app, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The App does the following: - Launches a Service which listens for an sms, then captures a picture with the cam and sends it to a predefined email adress. (no, i'm not trying to spy somebody out... I'm using the app to get a "3G-Webcam", sort of at least)
The problem: My App works great in the emulator, but as soon as I try it on my HTC Magic (cm6, android 2.2) it stops working.

I'm writing an application for Android. I need to make some image processing on the picture taken from camera.I use Camera.PictureCallback to get the photo, and I get picture in byte array.The problem is I want to make operations on every pixel of photo (some filtering and other stuff) so I guess, have photo in byte array is not a bad idea. But I don't know how interpret information in this byte array... The only way I know to make the processing is use BitmapFactory.decodeByteArray() and then use Bitmap object. Is this a good way to handle a lot of image processing?
