View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a Verizon LG Lucid 4G and I would like to flash it to Page Plus. I have DFS CDMA Tool Demo version and QPST.
How do I get my Lucid into Diagnostic Mode??? I believe I know all the step to flash my phone, but I can't seem to get my phone into Diag Mode. What code do I need to do so??
What are the steps to flashing my phone over to PP using DFS Demo or QPST?
I followed the steps this guy took to flash his HTC Thunderbolt 4G over to PP, but it's not working for me, probably because I'm not in Diag Mode. The guy used CDMA Workshop, but I did the same steps using DFS. Anything I change and write to the phone never saves after I restart the phone. URL..I want to flash my phone without having to pay for any software, if at all possible.
I would really like to upgrade my phone to Android version 4.2.2 however I am still fairly new to working with android. My phone is already rooted and when I went looking around for how to do this myself I found out about Rom Manager but I do not know how to use it. When it asked me to install the clockwork mod it listed 2 devices that it was usable with and said my phone was not supported. I find it hard to believe that with this many android users out there no one has found a way for this phone.

View 8 Replies View RelatedJust got my new Droid X on Saturday, and started playing with it...first installing LauncherPro, and Beautiful Widgets.
Then I started to play with the camera taking pictures...I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to change the "save location" on the phone for when it takes the photos. I don't know whether the photos are being saved to the SD Card (like I WANT), or to the internal memory (which I don't!).
I just want to switch out one of the app shortcuts on my lock screen with a different app. I've seen apps that change the lock screen entirely, but I'm just wondering if there's a way to change which apps are there without changing it completely?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Android phone is soft bricked it is an VS870 LG 4G Lite Lucid II.
This is the second time my phone becomes bricked due to my last incident with my samsung. It has nothing to do with it being rooted, but uninstalled some apps in the phone which I thought had nothing to do with the system. IDK last one I uninstalled was zappos. I know how to un-brick my phone, but my only problem is getting the phone to be recognized by my computer. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the drivers, removing the battery from the phone, using different USB ports still no luck . Could it be that the battery percentage went below 75%? if so I have no way else to charge, it does not seem to charge anymore?
SD Card mounting via a front USB port stopped me typing under Ubuntu Lucid!
Plugging in via the front usb's stopped me typing!
Also other weird behaviour.
I was actually plugging the mouse in via PS2 to stop the issues I was having.

I have a Droid 3 and I'm attempting to backup my texts and save them to my pc so I can print them out if I need.I have downloaded SMS Backup and Restore and PhoneLeash. From what I've gathered, Phoneleash only emails the texts that have been sent/received after the app has been installed. I do like the organization of the texts, though. For Backup, I have gotten my texts backed up and saved to my SD card. When plugged into my pc, I've been able to open it up in XML format, but the texts are so hard to read, due to all the coding. Also, it doesn't organize the messages very well. It put all the texts I've sent together and all the other person's texts together. It would take a long time to get them organized correctly. So my question is, is there any app the works like SMS Backup, but organizes like PhoneLeash?how to make Backup organize the texts correctly?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am planning on buying a new Android phone in place of my old ageing Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE. I'm choosing between the Nexus 5, HTC One (M7) and the Galaxy S4. One thing that is common to these phones are they both have Snapdragon processors.
My question is:
1. Is it wise or even practical to even install a battery-saving app for these phones? (as I heard such apps does work but also is a drain to the batteries themselves and resources/RAM)
2. What battery-saving app recommended? (I know I can easily search in Google or the Play store but there are just hundreds of them. I want to trickle it down to the "best of the best" or the "top one" out there currently?
How can I set my HTC Magic to save images/music/applications to memory card and not the phone? Or is this done automatically?

View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing the stock email app on 4.1.2 (and before I realized there was an option to send a bcc to myself) I sent several emails through Rogers while set up using pop instead of IMAP. So right now I have a number of sent emails that aren't on the server.
I don't want to lose the messages, and while I have figured out that you can open the sent folder, and then individually open and save a copy of each email, I don't want to do that (and it doesn't save the attachments either). I thought maybe I could select them all and forward at once, or save at once, or move them to another folder to sync with the server...
I thought maybe K-9 would have an option I could use, but I can't figure out how to import the settings from the stock app.
There must be a way to do this besides the one-by-one saving?
My phone is not rooted and I want to figure out where snapchats are saved so I can open them again, Ive looked for the "received_image_snaps" and it doesnt exist. There is only a "my media" folder. Ive tried snap grapple as well and that didnt work. How to save them a different way?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have two questions regarding my Nexus 7 and pdf files. I tried to save a pdf attached to an e-mail, and was asked to choose btween Kindle and Quick Office and whether to make the choice permanent or one time. I mistakenly chose Kindle+permanent. Now the only way I can access the pdf is to go to the saved email and click the attachment. Then I get linked to Kindle which opens the pdf. Needless to say that is a lot of unnecessary selection. I tried to find the pdf file with File Manager but could not locate it. I tried to create a bookmark to the email, but could not do that either. So my questions are:
1. How do I undo the permanent choice of Kindle?
2. If I cannot do that, how do I create a link or shortcut or bookmark to the email so I can get to it quickly?
3. How do I find the folder to which the pdf was saved?
When I save photos from text messages, the phone defaults to saving the pic under the same name for every photo "imagejpeg_2.jpg" I have tried a variety of things to prevent this. The phone will not let me alter the name before saving. I also removed the "Download" folder completely off my phone which contained any saved photos, thinking when I saved another pic it would default to the first photo "imagejpeg_1.jpg" and go in sequence from there.
I'm trying to prevent having to do a hard reset or using other apps for messaging.
I have a need to roll out tablets to some of my people who work in the field, here is the problem I am running into.
I need them to be able to connect to a network share, open a document, and then save the changes back to the network share.
I am able to access network shares easily enough once I am vpn in. using ES, Astro, x-plore. Simple enough, create shortcuts to shared folder on my network here at HQ.
Problem is that if I open a document on my tablet, change something, and then save it, the changes just get saved to the temporary save location on the android device. They dont end up back on the network share.
I would like for users to be able to just hit save and have the changed document overwrite the original, same as if it was done from a windows laptop.
I have a Samsung Note 10.1 and have just purchased an micro sd card to suit. What i want to do is save my downloaded films to the card for when i go on holiday. my question is how do i do it, that is if it can be done,

I put back the card back into the phone. I can play songs off of the card. However, I can't seem to save any made up playlists. I've used winamp and google music player to try to make playlists. The playlists seem to disappear after a while.

So after some research and Googling, I discovered that "Killing" your app is only worse or has no effect for your battery life. Even using apps that "save" battery only harm it even more. I've been told these were the fundamental things to save battery ever since I even got my hands on a smart phone.. Guess I've been asking the wrong people.
So, what are real ways to save battery? I'm a heavy phone user, often surfing the net or watching Netflix on the go. Dimming my screen is not enough, are there any other techniques to prevent my phone from dying? I've got an Android 4.
How can I prevent the browser from saving the tabs I last had open? It's annoying to open the browser and have stuff from a week ago still there
View 5 Replies View RelatedThere's something I'd like to do on my samsung galaxy note that I was able to do on my Symbian-based device in the past, but I can't figure out how to do it under Android.
I'd like to save multiple SMS drafts per recipient. However, my Galaxy note 2 only seems to permit me to save one SMS draft per recipient, with each subsequent draft overwriting the previous draft for that same recipient.
Here's why I'd like to have this capability:
If I want to type a long SMS to someone (more than 160 characters), what I like to do is split the message at logical places such as after commas, sentence endings, etc. I would do this by getting close to the end of a given SMS message and then stopping it at the point that I choose, saving it as a draft, and then continuing my text in a new SMS starting at the beginning of the next sentence, phrase, etc. Then, once the set of drafts is completed, I will first proofread and make corrections in the entire group of drafts, and only then will I manually send them off, one after the other.
Yes, I know I can type a long message and the SMS app will automatically split it into pieces after 160 characters, but that often splits words or breaks sentences and phrases in places that I don't want them broken.
Here's how I try to accomplish this on my G1:
Invoke the Messaging app.
Select New Message.
Select recipient.
Compose first SMS.
Select the Back key (draft 1 gets saved).
Select New Message.
Select same recipient as before.
Compose second SMS.
Select the Back key (draft 2 gets saved).
However, at this point, draft 1 has been overwritten by draft 2. In other words, only draft 2 remains.
Any way for me to accomplish what I want (or at least something similar) on my samsung galaxy note 2?
