View 6 RepliesJust got my new Droid X on Saturday, and started playing with it...first installing LauncherPro, and Beautiful Widgets.
Then I started to play with the camera taking pictures...I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to change the "save location" on the phone for when it takes the photos. I don't know whether the photos are being saved to the SD Card (like I WANT), or to the internal memory (which I don't!).
Essentially, what I'd like to do is to be able to press the 'back' button on my Hero to take a picture, rather than pressing the trackball.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThere was a post about camera app (paid) that makes better picture.
That post had a pics with Hero's app and that one.
However, i can't remember the app's name, nor i can find that post.
Can someone confirm a picture taken with the stock settings in the camera can now be sent via sms?
On my end, it will show compressing the pic, the recipient never receives. (No I am not connecting via wifi.)
We have multiple apps that save pictures to the phone.
We use the following code for that:

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new to this phone and so far so good.Working things out and getting it set up like I want it. I have two photograph widgets on one of my screens, one set up for newly taken pictures and one set up for newly shot video. The only problem is, I don't know how to change the default video save location. I am using the astro file manager and have seen that all videos and pictures save into a file named DCIM on my SD card. How do I change this to make it save pictures and videos into different files?I have made a different file for my videos and manually moved them into the folder but the phone is still saving new videos to the same old default place.

I just wanted to post an issue I found. I downloaded ES File Explorer and was browsing a shared folder of pictures on a desktop. I selected a picture and, with the file explorer's picture viewer, browsed the next few pictures sequentially. I found one that I wanted to use as a background, so with a menu option, I chose set as background. The device froze, and started a never ending reboot cycle. I had to hard reset the device and wipe it with the POWER + X button option. I am not sure if this is an ES File Explorer problem or a problem with file transfers initiated some way other than copy and paste, or just simply trying to assign a remote path as a background image location, but I thought it necessary to post. I have sent this to the author of the file manager as well.
I tried an old(er) example / tutorial to capture a picture from the camera. But "android.hardware.CameraDevice;" cannot be resolved. Has the name changed or have somebody a good tutorial for android 1.6 and the camera? If I press a button, I want to open the Camera and make a picture. After that i want to save the picture on a sdcard and go back to my activity.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHow can I add a watermark in the picture (.jpeg)? I have this project in mind where I'd like to have such feature - to take a picture using the camera (already developed this) and then make it watermarked. So basically just take the .jpeg file and then blend it with some .png file that is semi transparent.

What I is that after taking a picture, the crop/editor comes up, with a fixed aspect ratio of 1:1.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHi Guys! I'm coding a little app, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The App does the following: - Launches a Service which listens for an sms, then captures a picture with the cam and sends it to a predefined email adress. (no, i'm not trying to spy somebody out... I'm using the app to get a "3G-Webcam", sort of at least)
The problem: My App works great in the emulator, but as soon as I try it on my HTC Magic (cm6, android 2.2) it stops working.

I'm writing an application for Android. I need to make some image processing on the picture taken from camera.I use Camera.PictureCallback to get the photo, and I get picture in byte array. The problem is I want to make operations on every pixel of photo (some filtering and other stuff) so I guess, have photo in byte array is not a bad idea. But I don't know how interpret information in this byte array... The only way I know to make the processing is use BitmapFactory.decodeByteArray() and then use Bitmap object. Is this a good way to handle a lot of image processing?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying for my app to create a picture this way... It works fine, except when doing this, the picture is written in the "Camera" folder (/sdcard/dcim/Camera). Since the picture was not taken with the camera, this is not desirable. Is there any way to put it directly in dcim?

I am having an issue w/ 2.0 in the emulator when I am trying to set a couple of parameters. Including the size.
It appears these messages appear.. I guess my question is, why is the picture size stuck at 213x350? If I set my picture size to 640x480 it fails.
