Motorola Droid :: Camera Photos And GPS Location

Nov 20, 2009

I noticed when I take a photo, if you look at the details of that photo, it has the GPS location of where it was taken recorded. Are there any apps that take advantage of that? Like something that shows the images on a map or something?

Motorola Droid X :: Camera Picture Saving Location

Aug 1, 2010

Just got my new Droid X on Saturday, and started playing with it...first installing LauncherPro, and Beautiful Widgets.

Then I started to play with the camera taking pictures...I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to change the "save location" on the phone for when it takes the photos. I don't know whether the photos are being saved to the SD Card (like I WANT), or to the internal memory (which I don't!).

Motorola Droid X :: No Option To Take Widescreen Photos Like Stock Camera App - Apps To Do So?

Sep 8, 2010

I purchased Vignette Camera because I liked the edits. However, I noticed there is no option to take widescreen photos (takes up the whole screen of the Droid X) like the stock Camera app. I can take a photo with Camera first, then import it in the other app, but that's just more work. Any other options or apps out there?

Motorola Droid X : Camera Focus Sound File Location?

Jul 23, 2010

So does anyone know the location of the sound file for the double-beep camera focus? I found the "camera_click" and the "videorecord" sound files but don't see the one for the focus. It's not located in system/media/audio/ui like the other 2 camera sound files.

I really hate the double-beep focus sound and yes I know 3rd party camera applications will enable you to silence it but I was looking to just replace the sound file with a silent sound file instead.

HTC Droid Eris :: Where Are Camera Photos Stored?

Apr 9, 2010

I just installed Astro File Manager, and I can't find where the Eris stores photos taken with the camera. I have a folder called 'Photos' on my SD card, but that only has photos I copied to it from my PC. (so I could use them as wallpaper). When I use the Albums app, it lets me choose the Photos folder on my SD card, or a folder called 'Camera shots' with 29 photos in it (that I took with the Eris camera), but I don't see that folder anywhere with Astro , even when trying a file search.

1) I'm not a photographer

2) I used Vignette on the Evo 4G

3) I used both the Stock camera and Vignette for the Epic

4) The Epic pictures were taken while there was more sunlight out, the Evo was more in optimum lighting.

5) Neither has been retouched in any way

I also have 720p video shot with both phones, just don't know where to upload it yet.

Also, can I "tidy up" this area of my phone, and would the phone still recognise and find the files? Could I create a folder which newly taken photographs will automatically be located?

HTC Incredible :: Camera Photos Pixelated / Washed Out

May 14, 2010

I have read all of the out-of-the-box rave reviews of the camera quality. I am not having the same experience. It seems that most of my photos are way too vivid, pixelated, and washed out looking. I have researched all of the forums I know of. I have tried reducing MP, ISO, brightness, etc. I just can't seem to find a good balance. I love photography, but am less than an amateur when it comes to camera technology. I am the point and shoot, and pray it comes out looking good kinda guy with my other cameras. How to get better image results?

Motorola Droid X :: Camera VS HTC Incredible Camera

Jul 17, 2010

So I spent the last hour or more in my backyard in 107 degrees taking pictures of flowers at stock settings with both phones. NOT an easy task I will tell you that. My back hurts, but besides that... I did my best to show the best quality of BOTH cameras, because they are both great. I realize that not everyone will agree with me, or will think I messed with something in my pictures. But these are all completely stock settings, not messed with at all. I only touched the flash on/off button.

My decision is I like the X camera better, it is easier to focus, and much snappier. Plus designated camera button! I found on the Incredible while the pictures look great on the phone itself and in gallery, that as soon as they were uploaded the colours looked washed out and not as great. I know this is due to the AMOLED screen. But both overall great. My decision is the X though.

NOTE: Inc would NOT focus any closer without being extremely blurry, tried a gazillion times.

HTC EVO 4G :: Pink Spot In Center Of Photos / Out Of Focus Camera?

Jul 29, 2010

I seem to have the pink spot issue in the center of my photos. I don't see it in all of them, seems to be more in grey days or shooting concrete. The center of the image seems soft or out of focus. Here is an example (You can see how the center of the image is pinkish and out of focus)

I did some searching and see this was an issue with some HTC phones, but it didn't seem to show up in search for the EVO. Has anyone had this issue? Is there a fix for it? I am in the 30 day trial and would like to know before I commit to keeping this device.

I have not noticed this posted yet so just adding here for those that have not found it. The new camera/video/gallery application supports cropping. After taking a photo or viewing in the gallery, press the Menu button and Crop. You can resize the crop box by touching the edges or move it by touching in the center. Using this feature I was able to create and share panoramic images that were much more interesting. Clicking Menu and then More reveals the "Show on Map" command which displays the location the photo was taken.
