Android :: Load Images In OpenGL Without Having Thin Outline Appear Around Images?
Nov 2, 2009I'm basically using the same method of loading bitmaps in OpenGL that the SpriteMethodTest example uses and have been unable to get rid of an annoying outline that appears around all of my images.
For example, If I were to load an image of a white circle on a white background, I would expect to see nothing. Instead, I would see my circle because its edge would be gray. In SpriteMethodTest, I replaced the background image with white and was able to see that the edges of the android images flying around also don't seem to be rendered correctly.
Does anyone know how to load images in OpenGL without having a thin outline appear around the images?

so my confusion is that "is there anyway to load an image in imageview from string(imagename variable) like temp1.jpg,etc."

Sep 14, 2010(HTC Desire running Froyo, not been rooted/molested).I have the stock email app set up to send/receive email through my BT email account.This all works fine with one exception.If I am sent an email which contains an image, I just receive the text no image at all (not even any sign that an image should be there). If the image is sent as an attachment then it is fine, it is only a problem when the image is in the body of the email.I have checked through settings and have set mail size limit to 'No Limit'.Can't see any other relevant settings.I found an old thread about this when I searched and it suggested that this was a known issue and may be corrected in 2.2. However, I am running 2.2 already.This is especially annoying as my cousin has been sending emails containing photos from her iphone and finds it quite amusing that my HTC cannot even display them

What is the absolute path to assets folder? I think that with the absolute path of the images I could to load these images in my html file into my webview.

Oct 29, 2009I have an Android application that generates some HTML which is rendered locally, in a Webkit view. The details of the HTML generation aren't really that important except for: the bulk of it comes from one place, and I cannot change it the template around that HTML (including headers, footers, HEAD etc), the CSS, and Javascript is under my control. most images are under my control, and rendered separately from the untouchable HTML. These images come from local disk, and do not require the network. It can be assumed that these images are always available. The untouchable HTML contains images which would, ideally be displayed. If the network is unavailable, it is these images that would fail to load. the complete HTML file is likely to be stashed to disk, long before it is rendered. i.e. we cannot render different HTML based on network availability.

Nov 11, 2010Having issues on our phones to where the Lotus Notes Traveler application will not notify the user that there is new mail until he/she "wakes" up the phone by pressing the power button on. It only happens after the phone has been on for a day or so.Once the power button is pressed that turns the screen on, tons of new mail will come in. Almost like that it doesn't see a data connection until it is turned on.SMS messages and phone calls work fine. "Always On Mobile Data" is set to ON.Also, everything in the application is set to 'Sync all the time'Any ideas what it could be? It seems that the data connection is not notifying the phone until the screen gets turned on.

Oct 3, 2010My husband and i just got Droid X's. We have a business with a website and associated webmail. Our email address is an IMAP account created by our website developer. After trying to configure the embedded mail program, we installed K9 based on a lot of good reviews on this site. We've got it working, the only issue is we can't seem to get it to automatically notify us when a new email comes in as the phone does with Gmail. The notification doesn't come in at all - you have to go into K9 and "Get Mail". We have it set to sync all folders.

Sep 26, 2010So one of the cool things about Froyo is being able to check off Enable Automatic Update for market apps. So i have that checked off for like 80+% of my 80+ apps (that took a while to do let me tell you). Now i have had three apps have updates available since i checked off the box, yet they never actually automatically updated. I waited, hours, still never updated. Is there a setting i need to modify? Do i need to tell it what time of day to do it? Anyone else noticing this? I only really want it in apps that i don't care about reading the new features. But it is annoying that i have it enabled and it does nothing.
