View 5 RepliesIf I am not mistaken it's the same as the Talk, I heard that it uses a lot of the battery power, and I don't really use it. I went to settings and I unchecked the auto sign in, but when i go to Talk again, they automatically sign me in, did I do anything wrong? or am i signed out when I exit Talk?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with Google Talk auto logging in after open the program. I went into settings and unchecked auto login. It's logged in to an email address I don't want to use. Is there a way for me to switch it to another one or be able to choose between the two of them? Is the auto login a glitch? By the way it's on my HTC Incredible.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy status on Google Talk never changes despite the fact that I have the settings checked in settings to "go to away when I turn off the screen" as well as "show mobile indicator to friends". This wasn't functional in 1.5, 2.1v1 and now 2.1v3 on my Eris. Has anyone had success? I've seen this function work on a TMobile rooted G1 but that's it.
I can watch the indicator change on the web when I change it manually (signed in as another user), and its very responsive. However, no auto-away when i lock the phone, and no indication that I'm on a mobile phone.
I'm on CM10 with default 3.9.xx play store version and I want to keep it, but the play store still auto update it to 3.10.14
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anyone has been using Google Talk exclusively for SMS and ditched their texting w Verizon all together. I mainly ask as I am curious how reliable it is as a replacement for SMS. I'd love to cut my phone bill by $20 a month. My friend (5-6 months ago) said he was having issues w Gtalk in regards to some msgs not sending, or he never actually received them to his phone. He had issues with his N1 on Tmobile. Is anyone still experiencing similar problems? My SMS MUST function and be completely reliable as I use it constantly to communicate with my managers.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI was chatting with my brother Joseph with Google Talk on my incredible. He's chatting using a computer at work and i'm using google talk on my phone via Wifi at my home. We're both using google talk. There's was another person on my end of the phone chatting with my brother and I didn't notice it. The text highlighted Red is the douchbag hacker. My name is Austin in the conversation. So this douchbag was telling my brother where my sister lived. In the end, it seems as there were a networking problem but I have no idea.
Red text = 3rd person
Joseph: do u or anyone go to costco?
Me: Who is this?

I think I understand that you need 2 accounts for gmail to get one on the HTC Mail widget. One registered to the phone, which only uses the gmail of the phone. The second allows you to associate it to the widget. My question is, I figure the google account associated to the phone is the one that has gtalk associated with it. Correct? Can you log out of that one and use the 2nd account for gtalk as well? Or are you stuck to only using the google account associated to the phone? The reason I am asking is we use Google Talk at work as our IM service, and would need to use that at times, but also want to be able to turn on my personal one as well.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI kinda liked the fact that the old system only rotated when put on one side. I didn't realize that I counted on the screen orientation to stay the way when it was leaned the other direction. But I do like to type with the unit on its side from time to time.Is it possible to switch it back to the way it used to be (pre 2.2)? I saw an on/off for the entire rotation, so I doubt it but felt it worth asking.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a gmail and a Google Apps account. I have been able to set up the gmail account for both chat and mail. I have only been able to set the Google App up for mail. I cannot seem to get it to work in meebo or any other app. Anyone using a Google App as a secondary been able to set it up for chat/talk? If so, how or what app worked for you?
View 5 Replies View RelatedGoogle talk service starts running as soon as the phone is on, even though the app is closed (with ATK). Anyone know how to prevent it from starting up with the phone? I dont really use gchat on the phone so I dont want it to run unless i open up the app.The same occurs with google voice (which i only have set up for voicemail). This one I dont care too much if its on since at least its useful for voicemail.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyone lately get the Google talk authentication error notification repeatedly and find that they can no longer download apps from the Android market? Mine is going on the third day now and endless Google searches reveal that this problem has affected various Android devices worldwide, including the Incredible that just came out. I've tried all kind of suggestions but none work and there doesn't seem to be any official response from Google on the matter. I wonder if it is a hardware problem since these forums are not buzzing on these issues at all. In my case the phone worked perfectly for 2 days after activating and knowing how high the demand has been surely more people would be experiencing the same issues were it a device or cloud software problem. If anyone else has the same problems please post here.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got the OTA Froyo update for my HTC Incredible on Verizon. Now when i go in to the People application and touch the icon next to a person's name, the menu comes up with two "phones" on it, one to make a call, and one where gtalk used to be. When i touch the second phone, it brings up a list of crazy apps to associate it with. Most of the apps to associate are not actually anything.
Has anyone esle experienced this? I'm not rooted (yet) and to be honest im growing tired of the junky HTC apps on this thing. I'd love to just have the android contacts manager because i think it'll interface better than the htc ones.
Has anyone else noticed that typing in landscape in gtalk is less than ideal?
First, the entire window is taken up by the input screen and the keyboard, so
you don't get to see what your partner is typing (other than an abbreviated preview in the notification bar).
Second, every time you press 'enter' to send the message, the keyboard disappears. This can be a good and bad thing depending on what you're trying to do. But, most often, it interrupts the flow of the conversation and slows me down.
I wish there was a way to change this...
Seems like there are a lot of programs, when I look at my task killer that have started on their own for example
Footprints (what the heck is that anyway... wanted to uninstall but can't)
Skype Mobile
Google talk
City ID
Handcent SMS
Mixzing
Is there a "msconfig" of sorts where I can stop them from starting on their own or....?
I'm trying to limit my mobile data usage with out jumping through hoops.
I'm looking for a widget, that with one click of a button, it can restrict background data, disable auto-sync and enable mobile data, and when pressed again, enable WiFi, disable background restriction and enable auto-sync.
This function, no matter how trivial, would save time and effort.
Is there anything like this out there? Would something like this require root?
Galaxy Nexus
Since root has been attained, I have a feeling this app would be possible:An app that disabled the screen dim right before the screen times out.My guess is (and please correct me if I'm wrong) that the voltage outgoing to the screen changes, and therefore dims the screen. If an app could be developed that maintains this voltage, the screen could be at a constant voltage, and not dim, ever.Has anyone heard of an app like this, and, if not, is there anyone interested in developing this?I am sure a lot of people (like myself) would be willing to donate for a program like this.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes, well actually a lot of the time, when I flash a new ROM after wiping down the entire phone I find that after signing into Google in the beginning stages of the activation that suddenly apps begin appearing.
I've found that if I skip the Google integration setup until after the initial process is completed the apps don't auto restore.
But where can I find this cache that google is pulling this stuff from and completely delete this?
On a stock Android system, it is possible to disable sync for Google Contacts, Calendar, etc. Under Sense UI on the Incredible, there is no way to uncheck "contacts" under "Accounts & Sync" that I find. I have disabled the entire Background Sync, but of course that disables the Market. Is there a way to disable Google contacts sync that anyone has found?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Google Voice, which I recently discovered counts against my minutes when it sends me a transcript/recording of my voicemails (this is because VZ forwards calls to GV and charges for the time). I am leaving the country and the cost of calls overseas is $2/minute. I need to avoid charges for calls where people leave me voicemail messages, so I need to disable GV for the time I'm overseas. I can't figure out how to temporarily disable GV.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm fairly new to android development - I'm having trouble finding documentation on how to disable the accelerometer/auto-rotate feature for an app (i.e. when you turn the phone, everything 'corrects' changing the layout). Is it possible to disable in the emulator?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a WebView which may contain data that appears to be getting "auto linked". Something that looks like an email address is becoming clickable, even though it's now within an <a> tag or has an onclick attribute. How do I disable this auto-linking? I've looked through the WebView docs, as well as the WebSettings docs, but didn't seem to see anything that mentions this behavior.
View 2 Replies View Related it is possible to code an app so that it does not rotate if/when the user rotates their device. I have built an app that is designed for portrait view only. When it is flips to landscape, it gets distorted. I have apps on my android that do not rotate when I try to rotate my device.
I am using Eclipse to make my app. I'm hoping it is something that I need to add to the manifest.
