I have the Motorola Droid for Verizon and can't get my saved and edited tones to work.I save them, but now whenever I receive a phone call or notification, the phones uses default tones for both.Anyone else with this problem?

Is there any way to do this on the droid or a third party program available?Also, these are very simple. Is there any way or app out there that when i plug my phone in it will make a full screen clock like it does on blackberries? (in the picture of the phone in the media dock--that I don't have it shows something similar to what I want) Next, How do I choose different ringtones for my alarms. There are not that many to choose from in the list and I don't like any of them. Oh actually and I just thought of another one:some of my contacts are not linked to my facebook contacts, some are, how do I manually add facebook to a contact. (I only know of hitting the sync button on facebook, but that doesn't have any manual select setting)

Notifications
Ringtones
Alarms
In these folders put your favourite MP3 files. You can now use these MP3 files as per the topic.
Notifications - Message tones and Notification tones
Ringtones - Your phone ringtones
Alarms - Your alarm mp3s
Using these folders there is no need to play the MP3 files first in Music Player.
I know you can change and have separate ringtones for separate contacts and separate notification tones for text vs email but can you have separate notifications for text messages? I would like to have my twitter messages as silent but all other text messages have an alert.

The problem is that if I go back into the settings it defaults back to the "Droid" tone and does not keep the one I want.

However, fire department and my wife I would like to assign seperate notification tones. In addition I would like to download ringtones other than the standard ones on the phone. I see them in the phone ringer section but not in messaging. How do I get them in there. I am new to this so I need detailed instruction.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIt seems like the Music Player saves the ringtone to internal memory while Ringdroid saves it to sd card.I created several thru Ringdroid and set for contact ringtones and they only worked occasionally.Most times I would get default ringtone.I removed them from sd card and created a few with Music Player and I dont see them on sd card but they do show up in the ringtones list.Hopefully they now work better being internal.Does anyone know how I could delete a ringtone from internal memory?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI got my wife a Hero and everything works appart for this. I have copied my MP3 files into a Music folder on the SD card. I then used ringdroid to pick one of these and convert it into a ringtone and assigned it to a contact.This created the folder /media/audio/ringtones on the SD card which contained my new ringtone. I checked the contact in the People application and the ringtone is correctly assigned to them. This ringtone is also in the dropdown list so I can manually add it to other contacts in the People application.However whenever I ring the Hero from the phone associated with this contact I always get the default ringtone and not the custom one.
I have rebooted the device and this does not make a difference.I can set the new ringtone to be the default ringtone and then it plays, but for all users.I have tried everything here, including doing a factory reset for the phone, but I just cannot get this working and this is something my wife needs.
Is there a way to have different notification tones for each email account? Also, differnt for a text message and/or VM left?I am coming a from blackberry where by sound I knew which account recieved an email.

I was getting the wrong ringtone for certain people and no notification ringtones at all. So today I go into ringdroid to edit some of the ringtones and now ringdroid wont work. I click to edit a tone and I get error reading file on any file i click on. 2.2 is REALLY annoying me about now!! I'm thinking of doing a factory reset. Anyone else having issues with ringdroid?

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe reason I KNOW its not me changing these ringtones in all of the assignable designations for media files to be played for the ringtones and such is that I have not a single of my music files within any of these settings as an option to assign in the first place. They are showing up randomly. This morning I awoke to Rock n Roll by Led Zeppelin, and earlier today a friend called my whose ringtone was changed to 99 Red Balloons.
Let me reitterate; I have never assingned a music track as a ringtone, alarm, or notification. The previous ringtone still exists in my library and is functional IE; i can reassign the same ringtone to a person again. I THINK that only ringtones which are NOT DEFAULT are changing. I do have an abundance of navigation (gps, turn by turn, ect), some news, a widget for quick settings (wifi, bluetooth, ringer on/off, gps), Music (shazam, pandora tunee music, The house FM christian radio) Astro file manager, Emulators, facebook integration.I have noticed some coming on by themselves. Ill try to note when I have done nothing to activate them.
I've just rooted my X8 from 2.1 to 2.3.7 (GingerXperia v10). When i try to set my notification tones and alarm tones i didn't find any good ones.
So my request is can some one post all the tones (notification and alarm) of Xperia X8 2.1

Is there a way I can backup my contacts/groups sms tones and ringtones settings?
I have assigned individual ringtones and sms tones to many contacts and groups on my S4 and sometimes after a restart, the phone reverts to default tones, so what I need is an app or utility to backup just these settings for me so I can restore them easily.
I have a Droid Eris. I have Zedge. I have a certain notification sound that I downloaded from Zedge. It shows up on the list, but there is apparently no sound associated with the item in the list. I manually downloaded the notification to my phone to see if it would play on the phone at all...and yes, it does. But I can't select it from the music player to be a notification sound...all that lets you set is the main phone ringtone...and I don't want it for that.
I hooked up the phone to my PC and made sure all the files were in their correct and happy places...notifications in notifications folder, ringtones in ringtones folder, zedge in zedge.
This is an update.zip type format for the Droid X ringtones as well as the well known Droid notification sound. This will add them to the appropriate places under /system, instead of needing to put them on the storage, or sd card.

When I go to change the notification ringtone in the settings, the ringtones that I have on the SD card don't show up, only the stock ringtones show up. I have tried the main settings, Handcent SMS settings, and the defualt Messages settings. Nothing works. I have uninstalled and re-installed Handcent but that didn't help either.

When I go to Settings->Sounds & Display->Notification Ringtone and select from either Android System or any other ringtone program I try, any tone plays when I select it. But no tone for sms, email or notifications.
