I have the Moto Droid and I use Handcent SMS. When I go to change the notification ringtone in the settings, the ringtones that I have on the SD card don't show up, only the stock ringtones show up. I have tried the main settings, Handcent SMS settings, and the defualt Messages settings. Nothing works. I have uninstalled and re-installed Handcent but that didn't help either.

I can't get my Droid to play anything but the stock sounds for notifications. If I try a custom sound I get this crappy digital phone ring sound. I have made all my folders on the root of the card. I have tried rings extended but it still does the same thing. It shows the sound I want. It plays it in the selection screen but when it comes time for the phone to play it all I get is that stupid bell. I even used sounds that I know work as ringtones by copying them to the notifications folder, but still that ring is all I get.

A couple key features that woud make this a great application:
1) Ability to store the password (though not visible)
2) Ability to automatically redial when disconnected.
I hate having to retype my password everytime the network (verizion not work) bumps me off and it is anoying to have the vpn disconnect and not realize it until I haven't gotten any new messages for a while.
I took a video on my Moto Droid, and sent it to my friend on his Eris. He downloaded the file from Gmail and but when goes to play the file, it states that the video is not supported. We have tried converting it to a .mp4 and it will not play either, even with a couple of App's from the Marketplace same result. Yet I thought the droid/Eris both supported .3GP? Works fine on his PC with Quicktime, and the video plays fine on my Droid. Is it because I took it in Hi-Res mode, and the Eris does not support that screen resolution? Or did we screw something up?

View 21 Replies View RelatedThe reason I KNOW its not me changing these ringtones in all of the assignable designations for media files to be played for the ringtones and such is that I have not a single of my music files within any of these settings as an option to assign in the first place. They are showing up randomly. This morning I awoke to Rock n Roll by Led Zeppelin, and earlier today a friend called my whose ringtone was changed to 99 Red Balloons.
Let me reitterate; I have never assingned a music track as a ringtone, alarm, or notification. The previous ringtone still exists in my library and is functional IE; i can reassign the same ringtone to a person again. I THINK that only ringtones which are NOT DEFAULT are changing. What is going on here? I have lookout AVP app loaded and running at all times.List on my runnng apps on EVO:

I do have an abundance of navigation (gps, turn by turn, ect), some news, a widget for quick settings (wifi, bluetooth, ringer on/off, gps), Music (shazam, pandora tunee music, The house FM christian radio) Astro file manager, Emulators, facebook integration.I have noticed some coming on by themselves. Ill try to note when I have done nothing to activate them.

I am becoming sick of the Incredible's stock player, mainly because of its poor shuffle mode. I have looked at apps like MixZing, Cubed, and DoubleTwist, but these all seem like they won't play music from both the sd card and internal phone storage like the stock player. Are there any players that will do this, and perhaps find album art like the others?

That in itself isn't so bad but what winds me up more than anything is that I have to interact with the phone to stop the tune from playing. Anyone got any ideas as to what it could be. I am rooted and have successfully copied .ogg .wav or .mp3 ringtones to system/media/audio/ringtones, notifications or alarms folders. I can even play them from those folders on press.
My hassle is I am not able to select these as my tones. They don't show up in the menus. I want them in the root because if I am connected to my pc and an email/text/call comes in that is assigned a Custom tone on sd, then my tones revert back to a default tone and I have to reset them all when i disconnect from pc
is there a way to get the stock ringtones and notifications off the droid? or maybe someone has done this already and i can download it. i mainly want to do this so i can put it on a non droid phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid Eris. I have Zedge. I have a certain notification sound that I downloaded from Zedge. It shows up on the list, but there is apparently no sound associated with the item in the list. I manually downloaded the notification to my phone to see if it would play on the phone at all...and yes, it does. But I can't select it from the music player to be a notification sound...all that lets you set is the main phone ringtone...and I don't want it for that.
I hooked up the phone to my PC and made sure all the files were in their correct and happy places...notifications in notifications folder, ringtones in ringtones folder, zedge in zedge.
Is there a way to have different notification tones for each email account? Also, differnt for a text message and/or VM left?I am coming a from blackberry where by sound I knew which account recieved an email.
