Motorola Droid X :: Errors With Ringdroid After 2.2 / No Notifications

I was having issues with ringtones and notifications, they just weren't working after 2.2. I was getting the wrong ringtone for certain people and no notification ringtones at all. So today I go into ringdroid to edit some of the ringtones and now ringdroid wont work. I click to edit a tone and I get error reading file on any file i click on. 2.2 is REALLY annoying me about now!! I'm thinking of doing a factory reset. Anyone else having issues with ringdroid?

new to the moto droid need some help w/ ringdroid .... from what i read it's the best app for custom ringtones but every time i open it it'll force close (i'm on my 2nd droid and it's happening on both of them) any other apps out there that can help me w/ ringtones or what can i do to make ringdroid work on my droid

I have the Motorola Droid for Verizon and can't get my saved and edited tones to work.I save them, but now whenever I receive a phone call or notification, the phones uses default tones for both.Anyone else with this problem?

facebook app (one that comes with phone) seems to have some problems loading notifications most of the time and also other unknown errors... like "Cannot retreive notifications.... [601/parse error... at position 57] and some others.

All of a sudden, Ringdroid isn't working any more.Whenever I try and cut out part of a song, no matter where it is, the song keeps playing from the beginning.I saw this link (Ringdroid help), but that didn't work.I powered off the phone for a few minutes then back on, and I have the same problem.I have an Eris with the 1.5 OS on it.I thought it was working previously, but admittedly, I don't use it all that often.Any ideas?

I am on the Froyo OTA and I rooted my phone (can't find the thread I used for that). I then started with titanium backup, got that bootstrapper and did a full backup and then tried to deodex my phone from this link (xUltimate). I kept getting errors on one of the steps and ran their little utility called Test.exe and it said my phone was already deodexed. So I thought maybe that happened when I rooted the phone. I then went to try install a theme that I liked, but I got an error so I had to recover. So I tried another one that was supposed to just make the top bar dark, had to recover. I then installed this one and it worked thought the text on the bar is not white and in the thread someone else had the same issue and was told that their phone is not deodex'd. So I guess my basic question is how can I tell if I am or not?

I just flashed the new Cyanogen but I'm having trouble mounting now. Whenever I try to move a file over it gets stuck, and when my display goes to sleep it won't wake up unless I pull the battery. Is this a ROM problem or something else? It was working fine a few days ago.

I have the google search with voice command widget on my home page. I learned how to work it really well. From it I can search maps, get flight info, etc. It has worked amazingly well. The past two days though, I have been getting connection errors more often than it works. Any ideas as to why its doing this all of a sudden?

I was using Fab's NexTheme R2 and updated to R3 without formatting and figured it would be fine, and it was for a while but then started to get laggy. So I decided to backup my apps with titanium and update to R3 from fresh, formatting DATA, SYSTEM, and CACHE.
Well when I restored my apps not all of them did. So I verified my backups and there were errors. Luckily I had an R2 nandroid backup so I went to that and updated to R3 again as before.
But I would still like to install R3 fresh but every time I run Titanium Backup and then verify my apps they all or most atleast come up saying there was an error. I clicked the "problems?" button and busybox should be ok so idk what to do.

I can make my own now (ringdroid), GIMME BACK MY MONEY A lot of people will be feeling that way with Ringdroid now appearing on the Android Market. Whereas carrier supplied ringtones typically cost a dollar and spammy.

I seek everyones pearls of wisdom once more. I use a program called "Ringdroid" to make ringtones out of songs in my library. However, most of the time I get calls a default ringing sound is what I hear. Not always, but sometimes. Other times my custom tones work.

I'm getting texts and that's it. Gmail isn't working with new emails also not getting facebook. Went home last night and to my surprise when i checked via my computer i had a few emails and facebook messages that never came through on my phone. I tried a test email again this morning and again nothing. Im using launcher pro plus not rooted and on 2.1. Could this be the same reason my facebook and twitter apps aren't refreshing automatically?

I have Bugles Beast V.04 with the Bugles evolution theme on my Droid and just about every day or every other day I get the OTA updates to get 2.2/Adobe. I downloaded the patch that Pete Alfonso posted on his website and have flashed it 2 times now and I am still getting the OTA update notifications, anyone have any suggestions on how to make this stop?

I am having issues with sms notifications. I'm running the custom rom listed below. previously i had "missed call" which had been giving me duplicate sms notifications (with local notifications off), i then uninstalled that along with the sms, mms apps which I replaced with handcent, which also has custom led notifications for sms.
Now I have two things going on, one- there is a little sms icon, just like the one from missed call, sans the red # mark, that always stays in notification area, and when i pull down not. menu it reads 0 sms. So, why is it there? Is it part of Handcent? Handcent uses the icon I picked from it's menu, which is different than what's in the not. bar.
two- still getting 2 sms not. ringtones, first one is default, i think, second one is one I selected, just one new notification though, which is the one I picked.
Now, I still have a ringtone under main settings>notification ringtones, which I assumed I would need for emails, but may hap that is cause of dual ringtones for sms messages, as I have one selected in handcent. ok just got a brainstorm, disable not. ringtone in handcent, but leave custom led, then leave ringtone in settings menu, which should alert for both. I would like to have different ringtones though, for text and email, but missed call was giving me issues, like dual notifications, not audible, but in bar, one i would always have to clear which became annoying. Also, I really like the custom led's, but when there is more than one alert, it just defaults to green, instead of displaying one color, then another.
side question- is there a way, or an app, to make separate ringtones for sms and email? yeah, missed call, i know about that one already, if someone was able to troubleshoot similar prob (dual notifications, with droid one OFF), then I would gladly listen, I used it fine before, maybe it has something to do with the rom I'm using, everything else works perfect with it though.

I just got a new Droid a few days ago because I was sick of my Blackberry. I set up my Yahoo email account, but I haven't been getting any notifications. I rebooted it and got a notification a few minutes later, but out of the 10 or so emails I've gotten in that account over the past two days, that's the only notification I've gotten even though I got several emails other than that one after I rebooted. I have it set to check every 30 minutes but half the time when I go to the account, I have to refresh before I see any new emails, even ones that came hours before. I also have it set to show notifications in the status bar and vibrate when notified. What can I do other than rebooting again to get email notifications? Should I look for a Yahoo app rather than using the stock email app? Should I just try to forward it all to my gmail account so it will actually work? I'm completely new to Android, and coming from a Blackberry, this email issue is really bugging me.

This is the first phone that I've owned that has LED notifications, and I've become very reliant on them. Has anyone ever felt their phone vibrate in their pocket only to power on the screen to find out it didnt really go off (phantom vibration). Well for me, its now the LEDs. For most of the day, the droid sits on my desk and i'll look at it every now and again to see if the light is blinking to see if i have an unread message. Every now and again i'll see it blink when there are no new notifications, and its making me feel crazy. anyone else get this at all?

Why can't i get any notifications from facebook? I have it set so the notification refreshes every 30 mins, but that doesn't work either.. someone commented on my wall and even after 2 hours, i didn't get any notification. is this just how the facebook application is? if it is, are there any other (better) facebook app for droid?

Ok, so I have LauncherPro and I tried Handcent and chompsms, both messaging apps I got 2 text message notifications for 1 message. I have searched and learned I need to turn my notifications in settings off. But I can't figure out how to do that. People say go to setting>notifications>and turn it off. But when I go to >setting, then there is no >notifications option. The only notifications setting I can find is under >sound>notification ringtone, but not an option to turn it off or on.
