I know you can change and have separate ringtones for separate contacts and separate notification tones for text vs email but can you have separate notifications for text messages? I would like to have my twitter messages as silent but all other text messages have an alert.

I have the Motorola Droid for Verizon and can't get my saved and edited tones to work.I save them, but now whenever I receive a phone call or notification, the phones uses default tones for both.Anyone else with this problem?

The problem is that if I go back into the settings it defaults back to the "Droid" tone and does not keep the one I want.

However, fire department and my wife I would like to assign seperate notification tones. In addition I would like to download ringtones other than the standard ones on the phone. I see them in the phone ringer section but not in messaging. How do I get them in there. I am new to this so I need detailed instruction.

View 2 Replies View RelatedUsed to use Rings Extended and Ringdroid, but uninstalled when I could no longer get SMS or any notification tones to ring. Alarms etc still work. When I go to Settings->Sounds & Display->Notification Ringtone and select from either Android System or any other ringtone program I try, any tone plays when I select it. But no tone for sms, email or notifications.

1. I mounted my Hero to my computer.
2. I have the media folder with the files of RINGTONES, NOTIFICATIONS.
3. I have the mp3s that I want, in EACH folder.
4. Unmounted the Hero.
Now I'm lost, because I went to my settings to set a default ringtone for my phone calls, and they are not showing up. The only ones showing up are the ones that came with the phone. The same thing is happening for my notifications.I'm pretty illiterate when it comes to this kind of stuff, so if there is anyone out there with the patience to help me out step-by-step,
Just got my Moment and noticed that I can not have different tones for text, voicemail, and email. They all have to be the same as well as when I plug the usb cord into and disconnect it from the phone. Any idea if 2.1 is going to allow people to customize the tones for the phone? I really depend on those. I use the sound to determine weather or not I need to get to the phone to check on it or if I can just ignore it. Also any idea on the voice command? The one that comes with it is worthless, I really liked the "live search" from the instict and you would think Samsung would be able to put in the moment since it was in the instinct.

When I got my Droid the sales Rep stated some benefits over my BB Storm were cheaper data plan, free visual vm, and free ringback tones. where do we get them? You can't thru Verizon site they said you need to use a Droid app , but I can't find any app?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have read a few threads about missing contacts but have not seen this mentioned.I set ring tones for a lot of my contacts, not all, maybe I'll get around to it one day.It seems that when I set a new song as a ring tone, one or more of my contacts end up with the new song for a ring tone. I noticed that the default would change to the new song but that is easy enough to reset.The problem with an already set contact is I don't know it until I get a call from them.

Thus far, I have had to Google how to's for everything I've wanted to customize: ie ringtones, changing default tones, even the colour of my sms window. I've been able to figure everything out, but am stuck on creating custom tones for emails from specific contacts. With my trusted berry, custom tones for email and sms were linked together for my contacts. So whether I received a txt, or an email from "John", I would hear the specific tone I'd set for him. With my Nexus, I've learned the same is not true. I can only customize contact sounds for sms (and of course, only with an App, I really like Ringo btw). Emails, not so much. They all come in under the one tone, regardless of who it was from.

Also, not sure if it is a setting or not, but when it rang this morning it was talking at the same time telling me what the number was that was calling. How do i turn this off?

I have assigned individual ringtones and sms tones to many contacts and groups on my S4 and sometimes after a restart, the phone reverts to default tones, so what I need is an app or utility to backup just these settings for me so I can restore them easily.
Have the phone. Went through all the fun of finding my own prefered ring tone - well I made it from a song, and another ring tone for other uses.
Set them up, set the "Message" tone, set the alarm tone and all was good.
It wasn't long after that I bought a SANDISC8 gig SD card.
Coppied ALL files over and swapped the cards.
I am not sure exactly WHEN the problem started, but it still exists.
Now and then the phone is in my pocket and it starts making a sound. It isn't one I selected, so ignore it until it becomes obvious it is mine as no-one else is talking on their phone.
I look and it is a message/phone call/alarm.
They are NOT the ones I set. So I go through the process of seting them back to what I like.
Someone says it could be a dicky SD card. I shall test that soon by putting back the original one and seeing what happens. The only problem with that is that it is SO INTERMITANT that it is hard to know if it is or not really the problem.
