I find myself pressing the wrong link quite frequently and I was wondering if anyone has discovered a faster way than pres menu>stop or the X next to the URL? Preferably on the keyboard.

I have read quite a bit on task killers and decided that I didn't want to use them, but a friend of mine who has a G1 brought up an interesting point. He told me to look at the programs that are currently running. So I did and saw that there were about 7 that were running in the background that I NEVER use. I understand that you don't want to be constantly shutting down programs you use because it will make your phone run slower (can't access them as quickly). But what about programs I never use? I only use the GMAIL ap, so I don't need the email or the corporate email running. I don't have virtual voice mail, so I don't need that... and so on. Right now, rooting is beyond me, so I'm not going to do that. Are there any other options other than rooting to keep these from loading?

When on 4G network, the majority of web pages do not load completely; they stick somewhere between 50-80% loaded and never complete. Stopping and refreshing sometimes gets the page to load, or switching to 3G. This happens regardless of browser (I've used stock, Dolphin, Dolphin HD, and Firefox), and both unrooted and rooted (Myn's 2.2, 2.3). When I've run speed test, I get downloads of 9+ MB/s but it doesn't make a difference if most pages don't load.

I need to know when the webview finishes loading a page that has a random number of redirects (sometimes to the same page, and the order of the redirects also change), so I can remove the Splash Screen only when there is a fully loaded page. On the webviewclient the onPageStarted and onPageFinished functions are called once per each redirect, as is the onNewPicture (even though the screen is always blank during the redirects). So I can't be sure when it's called the last time (page actually loaded). I also tried using the onLoadResource to count the number of resources loaded (dangerous and unreliable approach, but I am getting desperate here), but this also failed, since after the page is cached, it is called only one or two times. That is one big puzzle I am unable to solve using what I know so far, can anyone please help me?

Sometimes it's takes quite a while to load the page, and in these cases I want to be able to use the built in back button on the phone to cancel the loading and go back to my application. Sometimes when trying to load a page the green loading bar goes about halfway and stops (the page is already loaded), if I try to stop the action and hit the X button it says 'Stopping' but the bar stays stuck on halfway, and when I try to enter text like in google, nothing happens when I hit the search button. Its not my internet as this happens both on WiFi and 3G. I would take the phone back but I am a bit scared as my phone so far has no light leakage, 30+ hours of battery life, hardware 003, and a nice novatec screen.

Which, as already happened to me once on a rom for the old model (solved by changing rom) that the 'application youtube, when playing HD video upload of videos about 50sec and then stops charging, obviously causing blockage of the video.
I installed the 'latest version of youtube from the market (that I added because the series is not present) and in any case if I look at the videos from the site you can see ... like this? (obviously not a problem with the network or wifi)
if I disable the 'HQ and reactivated the video start again for another 50sec and then stops.
Has anyone figured out a way to have the Captivate default browser not load mobile pages? I didn't fork out all this extra money to load websites in the same format as my old flip phone.

Is this something that I can do in the settings on the Nexus one, because I do find it a little annoying having to regularly reload pages in "classic" view?

I read before my upgrade that this would happen once and then go away after it was declined once but mine seems to be persistent. I'd really rather not install their unnecessary software.

As a Verizon customer I loved being able to send and receive 7 page texts to and from other Verizon customers. I recently upgraded to an Eris from that horribly lousy Alias and noticed that when the same Verizon people send me multiple page texts, the Eris splits the texts up. I'm fine with it doing this, but the thing that really bothers me is every time I get a multiple page text from a Verizon user it also sends me (and the person sending the text) a notification saying the text had special formatting removed or something to that extent. Some people I talk to tend to send texts that are 2 or more pages every time and the constant notification can get really irritating. Is there an app or a workaround to prevent this?

I opened Droid X Bootstrapper and hit bootstrap recovery and got Success!
I then opened Rom Manager Flashed clockworkmod recovery, went to download rom, stock images, and downloaded Verizon Droid X 2.2, I first tried just backup existing rom, and then tried wiping data also, then tried neither of the two, none seemed to help the issue
Phone then reboots, goes to motorola screen then starts to install rom
Then it says
-assert failed: apply_patch_check (" /system/app/AdService/apk" , and alot of numbers and letters)
-Error in (location of file in sdcard)
(status 7)
installation aborted

I figured I could just swap the 8gb SD card I was using in my Eris (because it's a class 6) and put it in my Droid. But when I went to the gallery it started acting really strange. It started out as the phone lagging and everything and I went to a representative for Verizon and told me to get the application Advanced Tasked Killer to kill all the task so it won't lag. It worked for awhile and it started again even though I used that application. I pulled out the battery to restart it and its stuck at the android eye loading icon. What do i do? get it replaced?
