Anybody having web page loading really slow on the droid 2 compared to the X? Try engadget.com it just stalls at 75 percent for a while then finally finishes, really slow, maybe I will try a factor reset, anybody else?

Have any if of you guys been experiencing this kind of slow laggy delayed scrolling while on internet? I am running launcher pro and started noticing this effect after getting the 2.2 froyo update. 2.2 doesn't seem to impressive. Other than the flash capability. I could careless for it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm Running 2.2, CyanogenMod 6.0.0, using a Chevyno1 LV 1.0 ghz kernel with FRG22D.My home screens take forever to load after i do anything, from checking a text message, to reading the news on an app. It takes about 4 or 5 seconds to have all my widgets and icons load up. I'm OCing it to 1.0 ghz and it still loads slow. My phone performs fast overall except for this. I have five screens on my Launcher Pro home, and each one has just one widget. Is there anything I can do to speed it up? Can I clear any caches?
View 27 Replies View RelatedCurrently I am running Blueberry Liquid Frozen Yogurt 1.6, with Slayhers 1200 Kernel. I set it up last night and I've been using it very lightly and now I have about 50% battery. Just for kicks and giggles I decided to try ChevyNo1's 1.1Ghz ULV Kernel to see what would happen as I have heard very good things about it. And when I flashed it and upon Reboot the boot animation loaded extremely slow. And when it finally got to the Droid Eye it went into the dreaded boot loop. So now I pose these questions to the Root Gurus, did I do something wrong? Should I choose another kernel? And how do I go about choosing the optimum kernel to maximize performance? With LFY 1.6 and Slayhers 1200kernel I can get a 1339 on Quadrant, and a Short Bench of 316-466, and a long bench of 579-585. And a native bench of 945.77. This is all with SetCPU set to Ondemand.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIve had my evo since day one.Absolutely love it.It's just that within the last month it's been taking awhile to open anything.If I click on mail it seems as though it stalls for awhile, then "loading" screen then it opens.Same thing with the messenger to check my text.Again with the loading screen which stays open longer than it use to. Ive tried to reboot here and there but it doesn't seem to make any difference.I just miss the way my phone use to run and open everything up so quickly.Im not complaining, if this is normal than o.k.I can wait a few more seconds.Is it that I have too many apps.Ive used up most of my space on my sd card, is that it?I have my phone stock.Is it time to root and will this solve my problem?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI got my x on launch day no root no 2.2 all stock .well i've been noticing its getting slower don't have much installed only about 10 apps. The browser will start and then stop when u tell it to go somewere then after a dew sec it takes back off. Text message when u bring it up it takes about 10 sec to load then another lag to start typing and there wont be any old messages in box and when they do finally come up u can't scroll threw the old ones.

From what I've found this should be possible again, but I can't seem to get it to play nice with me. Is it possible now (without too much monkeying around)? While I'm thinking of it: are the brower's bookmarks saved as a webpage? That might make things more convenient.

When I open the Gmail app to either check my email, or read an email that I received an alert for it takes forever to load the email in the app. It also sometimes takes awhile to load the list, the problems with network connection with it being very fast and loads web pages including Mail.google.com fast.
Is that true? If so, that's a serious flaw for me because I resize text instead of using my reading glasses, constantly. I really don't want to have to keep scrolling back and forth to read larger text. Darn. What were they thinking?
View 32 Replies View RelatedI own HTC Desire (Bravo). I rooted my phone year ago or so, tried different ROMs etc. I dont remember when exactly, but my Google play store is loading pages really slow. I am not in US, I doubt its carrier based issue..
Currently I'm using CM..I think its 8 or 9, not sure of the version because recently my ROM manager app stopped working. (Will try to reinstall it when I get calm enough to open Google Play Store again )
On the startup it says CM 7 (mod) but I think it does so for all versions. I flashed CM using clockwork mod.
To solve issue I've tried clearing cash/data but it didn't work . Btw I use wi-fi mostly, but issue is the same whether I use mine or some other wi-fi.
Anybody else get delayed data problems, unlock phone and then signal drop's then goes up a little, hard to get a webpage to load, just something with data connection, and the phone can't stay at a reliable signal bar just keeps jumping all over the place?

I opened Droid X Bootstrapper and hit bootstrap recovery and got Success!
I then opened Rom Manager Flashed clockworkmod recovery, went to download rom, stock images, and downloaded Verizon Droid X 2.2, I first tried just backup existing rom, and then tried wiping data also, then tried neither of the two, none seemed to help the issue
Phone then reboots, goes to motorola screen then starts to install rom
Then it says
-assert failed: apply_patch_check (" /system/app/AdService/apk" , and alot of numbers and letters)
-Error in (location of file in sdcard)
(status 7)
installation aborted

Can someone give me a list of needed programs and apps that i would need to go forward..........AND the order in which i should load them?
I have Titanium Backup and have done a backup with it. I have the full 2,2 SBF on my PC with RSDlite.
I know this has probably been asked a million times but a step by step would be nice (for me at least). I am reasonably tech but am a very nervous person.
I have backed up all the settings for LP on my SD card. I have ASTRO and I see it there, I just have no idead how to retrieve all the files to allo my D1 to re-load LP again.

I figured I could just swap the 8gb SD card I was using in my Eris (because it's a class 6) and put it in my Droid. But when I went to the gallery it started acting really strange. View 24 Replies View RelatedI have read quite a bit on task killers and decided that I didn't want to use them, but a friend of mine who has a G1 brought up an interesting point. He told me to look at the programs that are currently running. So I did and saw that there were about 7 that were running in the background that I NEVER use. I understand that you don't want to be constantly shutting down programs you use because it will make your phone run slower (can't access them as quickly). But what about programs I never use? I only use the GMAIL ap, so I don't need the email or the corporate email running. I don't have virtual voice mail, so I don't need that... and so on. Right now, rooting is beyond me, so I'm not going to do that. Are there any other options other than rooting to keep these from loading?

It started out as the phone lagging and everything and I went to a representative for Verizon and told me to get the application Advanced Tasked Killer to kill all the task so it won't lag. It worked for awhile and it started again even though I used that application. I pulled out the battery to restart it and its stuck at the android eye loading icon. What do i do? get it replaced?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI still have rooting on 2.1 but every time I run 2.2 (with the superuser icon), I try to run a program like setcpu (y'know because I thought I was rooted) or any other program that requires root. It still doesn't work and says "no rooted access detected". I load up the superuser app no messages or anything just a black screen. I've tried the "update.zip fix" about 20x and still nothing. Am I doing the update wrong or something? Cause reboot in recovery with clockwork mod and hit "apply update.zip".
View 3 Replies View RelatedI got my Droid about a week after release, and have really loved it. A few minor issues here or there, but nothing overly worrisome. In the past few weeks, I've noticed when I'm in an app (and it's not just one or two, it can be almost any app - Dolphin, USA Today, Pocket Kingdoms, etc), and I press home, it takes about 3 seconds for the app to go away and my home screen to show up. However, when the home screen does show up, it just shows my wallpaper, and then takes 5-10-15 seconds for the shortcuts and widgets to load.
My home page(s) are not terribly widget oriented at all. When I restart the phone it fixes it for a couple of days, but then starts up again. I've really just noticed it since the most recent OS update. Anyone else 1.) have this issue, and 2.) know a permanent fix? It's really rather aggravating, especially when I'm in a hurry before going into a meeting or something. I can give some more specific information if needed, as far as specific widgets and apps I'm running, etc. I'm using stock 2.1, no mods or anything.
I find myself pressing the wrong link quite frequently and I was wondering if anyone has discovered a faster way than pres menu>stop or the X next to the URL? Preferably on the keyboard.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using the ROM Manager but I have had this issue too when using the nandroid methods.
When I install just about ANY ROM other than the Cyanogen ROM I have issues with boot looping. Its very odd. If I am running the Cyanogen ROM I have no issues at all. I get the boot loop immediately after loading the ROM. No applications have been installed yet, and I have not even had the chance to do any restores using Titanium Backup.
The latest ROM I attempted was the Steam Dark Edge 1.2. Before that I have tried the Bugless Beast (Prior to 1.0) and with both I have boot loop issues. Also the same with the latest Ultimate Droid and Smoked Glass. So it must be something I'm doing or not doing.
If Im in the ROM manager I choose the option to allow the wipe. I have also booted into the Clockwork Recovery and manually wiped 2 times and attempted the update and again, boot loop.
When I am doing the ROM install from ROM Manager, the phone is running Cyanogen at the latest version. I don't remember ever installing a custom kernel but with all of the ROMS I have messed with over time I may have however that should be cleared with the wipe correct?
I'm sitting next to my girlfriend in class right now and we both attempt to look at our internet banking. I was able to pull mine up, then hers up before her banking home page would even load. I tried the google homepage and it seems to take even longer than most other websites. I would think of all sites to go slow, google.com would not be one of them. Anyone have any ideas as to why my browser loads pages so much faster than hers?
