Nexus :: Google Browser Home Page Stop Working
Feb 8, 2010I'm sure it's something simple, but my mobile Google browser home page has stopped working, I just get a white screen now. I've tried clearing my cache, but it didn't help.

View 1 RepliesI have the tronsmart CX-919 mini pc running 4.2 and there is an issue with the browser reverting back to the home page or the previous page. When I try to display a webpage on our intranet it reverts back to the homepage or previous page after about 3 hours. I need it to display constantly. I read somewhere that it was a Download Manager issue and disabling it would work but I can't find where to disable it. Also it was stated that Flash was an issue but i tried uninstalling it and it just reinstalled itself and the problem kept occurring. I just want to display a page in a browser and for it to stay on the screen (full screen) until I manually navigate away from it. I plan to leave it on for weeks at a time.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy nexus one phone crashed a week ago, I reseted the factory settings, and since then I can't find the power control system(wifi, gps, Bluetooth and screen brightness) widget which I had on my home page when I first bought the phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have entered the homepage and it displays fine whenever the browser has been killed and I start it (either with a task killer or switch off/on). However when in the browser I can't work out how to navigate to the home page, can someone give me a clue?
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy dad has an Aria, so I am asking this question for him. Under the settings for the Web Browser my dad set his home page to Google, however when he opens his browser it always opens on an AT&T Yahoo page. I have an Eris on Verizon and my browesr opens to the page I set as the home page. Is this a problem with the Aria or AT&T? Is there a way to fix this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSpecifically, I wanted to know if I could set touch.facebook.com as a page on my home screen.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhy is it that the browser does not go back to the home page after closing and reopening.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am aware that I can specify and set a home page within my browser, but how do I access it? I can't seem to see a 'home' button, etc
View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyone using the most current Dolphin Browser? I can't find anywhere to set my own home page... Am I missing something?
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe default Browser application on my HTC Hero v1.5 just keeps coming up with the standard "Web page not available" page when I try to connect to any website. This happens when I use GSM, 3G, HSDPA or Wifi to connect.
I generally use Opera Mini to access the web and this works perfectly, it was only when I used the Dolphin Browser (to access a site that doesn't display properly in Opera) that I realised it wasn't connecting and coming up with this message, so I tried the default Browser and realised this had the same issue. I then tried Skyfire and this also did the same!
All other applications are fine and can connect to the internet perfectly well. As I said above the Opera Mini browser works perfectly but this may be to do with it proxying the data so therefore works slightly differently to all the other browsers.
So it seems like something is amiss with my settings / files that the default Browser, Dolphin and Skyfire use.
I have a couple of questions about layout.
First, is moving things I don't use from where they are. It is possible to move the Browser icon off the home page?
On the first tap to the right I have the music application, and I never use that. I would like to use that space for App icons. Can I move that?
Finally, two taps to the left is the calender. Can I move that?
I was using an LG Lucid up until a couple days ago, and for a while now it stated trying to open up "goolgle" as the default page when opening the browser. I figured it was just the phone acting retarded since it was rooted and romed and it's been randomly restarting a lot too, so who knows...
So I bought a Galaxy Nexus second hand and it works great. But ever since I signed into my Google account with it it's started doing the same freaking thing! Opens up "goolgle" when I open the browser.
I have an specific requirement to change default home page of Android Browser which is by deafult "google.com" Can any give an idea how to change it like when I click on browser it should come like "yahoo.com".
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Nexus 5 has been great but many of the widgets freeze regularly especially any with a clock or weather. I've did re-installs on them and it continues to happen. The clock and/or weather will update for a while and then after a few hours will freeze in time. I have everything stock still but did try a few custom launchers including nova & apex to see if it occurred with them as well and it did so I went back to stock. I did a hard reset and they began working for a few days then back to the same issue today. I've tried everything I can think of. The problem is consistent and with every widget no matter the developer. Those for sure affected are HD Widgets, Beautiful Widgets, PolyClock (a world clock), and RetroClock. I'm assuming this is a kitkat compatibility issue but do not know for sure.
I also have a Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus 10. The 7 hasn't been affected at all but the 10 has it intermittently. All 3 devices have updated to 4.4.2
This is very annoying as widgets are one of the primary thing that sets Android apart from iOS for me.
Whenever I launch the internet, it always starts at the last page I was on, and not my home page (google). Does anyone know how to stop this from happening?
View 12 Replies View RelatedEvery time I open up my browser, it opens a new window with Google, over the one I had precious been viewing. I'm running Home++ with 2.0.1. Is there an option I can toggle to change this feature back, so the browser will simply pick up where it left off, and not opening a new window?

I can't figure out how to change the time option. Clicking it is not working.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI set up my google account when I first received the phone and everything. However now when I open up the home screen the Google Search bar has disappeared. Gone into Basic settings > Setup Guide to check details but Google Account settings not even listed! (Just SIM Contacts; Time & Date; Email; Facebook; Twitter; Sync) Have checked Applications and it shows Google Search (enhanced) as the default setting but it is not showing up on my screen either as the search bar or in the applications. Have tried taking out and re-inserting the sim card. Any ideas on how to get it re-instated?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI intend to buy an N1 soon, but I have been reading some reviews and I found many complains about hitting the home buttons by accident when you don't want them to work, and have problems pressing them when you need them. Was that issue already addressed in some previous OTA update? Or is it a hardware flaw? What can I expect about this problem?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I fire up my web browser, Google is my home screen. Just below the search field my browser says "location unavailable update". When I click update it tries to acquire location but can't. I think I've tried everything to get it to locate my location. I've turned it on through google settings. I've turned on GPS on my phone. I've got nothing. I'm at a loss at how to enable this feature because I used to have it and liked it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI did a quick search and didn't see this tip, but I just accidentally discovered that if you hit the volume key up or down it will scroll the browser page up or down respectively....just thought i would throw that out there in case no one knew..

Google+ Notifications Now Sync Across Devices
It had been working beautifully for awhile on my Nexus 4 and Nexus 7, but now it has stopped working on both I've got syncing checked on both devices under accounts, so I dunno WTF is wrong. Since I use G+ on the desktop most of the time, it's extremely annoying to have to clear notifications on three different devices (PC, phone, and tablet).
I have the galaxy discover phone from bell . new to android always had an iphone . Explain the difference between the google search bar on the home screen and the browser when i go to the applications .
does it matter which i use ? for example if i know the www address or if I just want to search say for car rentals and do not know the web address.

I'm new to Android, just bought a Google Nexus and When I turn it on it takes me to a screen that says My library, I don't want this. How can I have it go directly to my home screen?
When I slide my finger to go to Home Screen first thing I get is a blank screen, if I slide again I get a screen with Reccomende Play and Recommeded Apps plus the two icons I tried to put on my home screen. How do I get rid of the blank intermediate screen and how do I get rid of these Recommended things.
I come from a windows world and don't want these annoying things coming up all the time. When I load Chrome it takes me to the New Tab page, obviously I loaded this sometime previously, but how do I just get Chrome to load with a blank-page?
also, sometimes finding current location on GPS doesn't work.
I'm guessing i should try a new radio, huh?
I have a Google galaxy nexus ( from Google). The Google now works as far as voice recognition and asking questions, however cards are not displayed and at the bottom of the Google now screen I do not have a area that is supposed to have "more Google cards" button. I have activated everything I can think of and cards still do not display. I even allowed google to save web searches on my account ( its active). It also said to tap in the Google now window go to settings and then "Google now" to turn on or off....well I do not have a "Google now" option....strange! I am on 4.1 Jelly Bean ( did not root ) its standard upgrade.
