I placed pictures on my phone via my computer, but now can't remove them. I don't get a delete option, I can see them when I have it plugged into my computer. does it have something to do with my SD card? suggestions please, short of my formating the card (assuming the images are on my card?).

I'm having no luck deleting some pics that I no longer need on my phone. I had previously created a new folder called Stuff using ES File Explorer where I had temporarily stashed these pics. This folder is visible when I go into the Gallery, as are folders named Camera and Messaging. Some of these stashed pics were copied from Camera and some from Messaging...so like a dummy, I have the same pics showing up in three different places.
Anyway, I finally decided today that I wanted to delete those pics. I opened the Stuff folder in the Gallery, menu selected all, then hit delete. The screen flashed momentarily, then all the images reappeared. I tried the same thing again, but no luck. I even deleted the Stuff folder while in ES File Explorer, but it still shows up when I go into the Gallery. When I opened the other folders, Camera and Messaging, when I try to delete the pictures, the Delete option is grayed out.
I have no idea why, but I then went into ES File Explorer /sdcard/dcim/.thumbnails (had to select the option to view hidden files/folders) and wondered if maybe it was just the thumbnail images which still remained. So I deleted those too. Still no luck.
What am I doing wrong. Where do I have to go, or what do I have to do, to delete this stuff permanently?
Can someone please tell me how to use the zoom option on my ally?

but when i connect it to the computer, i am not able to transfer files between computer and phone as there is no option for it.my reverse tethering is working fine. on my phone it shows usb debugging mode.
I have tried all the previous posts about this issue; however, no luck. I want to transfer files from my phone to computer. Computer runs windows 7 64bit so VZ Cast or what ever it's called won't work. How do I set up an HTC sync? I also want to be able to do drag and drop. I was able to do this in the past; however, I reimaged my computer and now I can't.

The whole thing seems easy, Ive done a lot of work on my DX so this is easy, but for w.e reason i cannot get my computer to recognize the phone. I've installed all the drivers from the "How to get back to stock" thread in "all things root" and Ive installed drivers from LG's website. The computer installs them fine but when i open LG Mobile it says "disconnected, please connect phone." Mass storage is turned on, and Ive tried this on multiple computers at work.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI woke up this morning to find that my Ally has the wrong time in the notification bar, as well as one of the widgets that i have for an alarm which shows when the next alarm comes up. however, the correct time shows in the weather widget. as it is Sunday morning, i looked up daylight savings and noticed that the clocks in Europe get set back an hour today. could my phone somehow be in European mode or something? maybe an android 2.1 glitch, since it came out after the last fall switch if I recall and therefore may not have been tested for a problem like this. I can't find an option to switch the clock manually anywhere, is there a way to fix this or do i just wait a week for the US daylight savings to click in?

1) Why doesn't Gmail give you a count of how many new message there are? how do i get this option?

a bit of a learning curve as u can see, and going from a physical QWERTY to a touch screen is difficult. Got some ROMs installed and definitely more apps, but pretty much similar to what i had on my BB...
how to have back DELETE button in notifications?
In settings I have found now two options:
1. Show archive, delte or both in buttun bar
2. Enable Swipe to xxxx
where in option 2 xxx changes depending on the value for option 1:
- if 1 = archive then xxx = archive
- if 1 = delete then xxx = delete
- if 1 = both then xxx = archive (!!!)
The above makes no snese at all....
I installed the driver for Samsung moment in my computer but it still does not read it... Do I have a setting on the phone like blackberries do for mass storage? is it windows 7? Please help. How do I sync or at least import those pics and videos?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to find a way to not display the recent calls in my phonebook when either selecting someone for a message or just scrolling through the names when pressing PHONE from the home screen. Is there an option to remove the recent calls as it mucks up the alphabetical order of the thing and frankly is very confusing.
