Just a couple questions bout the Hero.
1: How do u delete a contact, I click people then the contact i want to delete but no option for deleting.
2: How do u add a picture to an existing contact?
3: I changed my notification ringtone with RingDroid, but it still just beeps once and vibrates for 1 second, wondering if theres another way to change it or im doing something wrong.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have synched a lot of my contacts with their Facebook accounts, but for a couple of them I have chosen custom pictures to appear in the phonebook. Whenever I connect to the Internet, the custom pics gets replaced by their current Facebook profile pictures. Is there any way to disable this without completely removing the Facebook synch?

While this is nice I would like to clear out the updates once I have seen them and can't for the life of me figure out how to do that. I don't use the auto update feature so when I press refresh I get everything which is fine but once I have seen them I would like to delete them off my Hero.

1) Why doesn't Gmail give you a count of how many new message there are? how do i get this option?

4) is there a sound profiles setting or a good app out there that can set different sound profiles for different situations (i.e. work, home, silent, vibrate etc) found an app just now called simple profiles.. seems to work okay..

a bit of a learning curve as u can see, and going from a physical QWERTY to a touch screen is difficult. Got some ROMs installed and definitely more apps, but pretty much similar to what i had on my BB...
how to have back DELETE button in notifications?
In settings I have found now two options:
1. Show archive, delte or both in buttun bar
2. Enable Swipe to xxxx
where in option 2 xxx changes depending on the value for option 1:
- if 1 = archive then xxx = archive
- if 1 = delete then xxx = delete
- if 1 = both then xxx = archive (!!!)
The above makes no snese at all....
I'm having no luck deleting some pics that I no longer need on my phone. I had previously created a new folder called Stuff using ES File Explorer where I had temporarily stashed these pics. This folder is visible when I go into the Gallery, as are folders named Camera and Messaging. Some of these stashed pics were copied from Camera and some from Messaging...so like a dummy, I have the same pics showing up in three different places.
Anyway, I finally decided today that I wanted to delete those pics. I opened the Stuff folder in the Gallery, menu selected all, then hit delete. The screen flashed momentarily, then all the images reappeared. I tried the same thing again, but no luck. I even deleted the Stuff folder while in ES File Explorer, but it still shows up when I go into the Gallery. When I opened the other folders, Camera and Messaging, when I try to delete the pictures, the Delete option is grayed out.
I have no idea why, but I then went into ES File Explorer /sdcard/dcim/.thumbnails (had to select the option to view hidden files/folders) and wondered if maybe it was just the thumbnail images which still remained. So I deleted those too. Still no luck.
What am I doing wrong. Where do I have to go, or what do I have to do, to delete this stuff permanently?
I got my droid eris recently and I am loving this thing but yesterday I sat down to slowly enter all my contacts into the eris and I noticed something. There is no contact list, am I wrong? Because I have spent about 30 minutes trying to figure out where the contacts are on this thing and its just not there. By contacts I don't mean something complicated, I mean literally a button on or in the phone that will take me to a window which will allow me to enter a name and a number, and then will show me in alphabetical order, simple as that. I cant find it.

I don't get a delete option, I can see them when I have it plugged into my computer. does it have something to do with my SD card? suggestions please, short of my formating the card (assuming the images are on my card?).
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhile transferring songs onto the SD card, there were M3U playlist files in those folders. After deleting them off the card, they still appear in Mediascape. Doing a long press on the playlist only brings up the slide with the album art (like on timescape), and no option to delete.
Is there anyway to delete these?
When I create a new contact and save it to my google account, I don't have the option to put that contact in a "group" on my Fascinate.

1. How can I remove apps that are pre-installed like soundhound, talk, stock. The remove option is greyed out.
2. Can I create a sub folder in the menu tree and move like games into one. I have created a sub folder on the home page, but cant rename it from 'folder'
3. My phone picks up WiFi signal at home everytime I am in range. Does this mean WiFi is always on, searching. My experience from my E71 showed me this kills battery. I seem to struggle to get more than 10 hours life from the battery, what gives.

There is shown a picture on notification bar even People app doesn't have any picture
The problem is when I create a contact # I later on come to check on that contact # and I get many repeats of that same # in the form of a text and a cell #. Is there an option to disable it because it pisses me off.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have all my contacts in Gmail and sync'd with facebook on my desire.Some contacts I have images in google too (which are low res as we all know).I used Facebook Sync (or fbSync) from the market to pull images from facebook and upload to Gmail.This appears to work fine.Out of the contacts that have images for facebook and google contacts, some default to using the FB image (which is what I want) and some default to google.I need google images because HulloMail VVM only uses gmail contacts so I don't get a contact image unless I have a gmail ones for my voicemails.I have tried to find a trend between the contacts that default to google and those which don't but have been unsuccessful in finding one. I have tried turning off contacts sync but also to no avail.Has anyone else had this issue, or has anyone got any idea on what could be causing this please? I've been trawling the web for too long now and can't find any reference to this issue at all.
