On one of my contacts, I set "mark as default" on one of the phone numbers. Now I want to clear this (so that there is no default) but I cannot figure out how to do it.

Earlier I had set some DNS Servers for use on my phone but now i want the DNS server to be decided by the router. i.e. i want to clear my dns settings. but i do want to set a static ip for the wifi. how do i proceed with it??
deleting the dns server from the menu provides an error(type a valid IP)
Edit: i'm using 2.3.4 custom ROM.
I'm playing with the alternative Home app that comes with the SDK.
I can set this as default for 'Home' action.
I can unset this by -->Setting->Manage Application->My Alternative Home-> "clear defaults"
Question:
How to do this "clear defaults" by code?
I've browsed the forums but cannot find an answer.
I find the "data synchronization" option is missing from the Settings on the last version android source code. Is this issue a bug? How to add the "data synchronization " option to Settings.

Now where to find them since I don't have the "all" button in settings-> apps where at the bottom there are disabled apps in my other android devices.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a standard way to add a footer to a context menu, in which I can add a checkbox to make the selected option the default one?
Similar to the context menu that comes up when choosing the default home screen for example.
From the Api docs for ContextMenu I see that you can set a header view, but not a footer view. Also the setCheckable / setGroupCheckable methods don't seem to help much here.
Does this need to be done via a custom (alert) dialog? I would be wondering if nobody has yet developed such a component yet in case it's not possible through the standard SDK api. Any standalone open source component out there (beside the Android source itself)?
So I did a factory reset and all of my downloaded applications were still there. I thought it clears all of your downloaded apps and it was supposed to clear all of my settings. Such as display and sound settings which it also didn't do. Is this the way its supposed to work or not.

View 18 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Galaxy S phone (Epic 4G) and I have the following problem.I created a shortcut to a contact on the Home Screen like this:
- from the home screen, menu->add->shortcut->contact
- contact manager comes up; select contact
- the icon appears on the home screen.
Then when I tap the shortcut, it pops up a menu (call/info/message/email icons). Tapping the "call" icon displays all the available phone #s for that contact. However, I used "Mark as default" to set a default number for that contact, and now it dials that number right away instead of giving me the choice of numbers. I want to UNDO this, and clear the default number setting but I cannot figure out how to do it!

I downloaded Instant Upload (a nice, simple FTP app) that allows me to upload individual files from my "Files" browser directly to a web server... but I'm curious to know if I can add this as an option in my "Share via..." menu?
The "Share" menu has a bunch of options I will likely never use, but I do use some of them, and additionally I would like to add certain apps such as Instant Upload to the mix. Is it possible to manually modify this list?
