Nov 4, 2010Is there a standard way to add a footer to a context menu, in which I can add a checkbox to make the selected option the default one?
Similar to the context menu that comes up when choosing the default home screen for example.
From the Api docs for ContextMenu I see that you can set a header view, but not a footer view. Also the setCheckable / setGroupCheckable methods don't seem to help much here.
Does this need to be done via a custom (alert) dialog? I would be wondering if nobody has yet developed such a component yet in case it's not possible through the standard SDK api. Any standalone open source component out there (beside the Android source itself)?
HTC Desire :: Handcent And Default SMS Application Working In Tandem?
Apr 23, 2010Is it possible to get to the HTC's SMS message widget app to open up the Inbox of Handcent? I've turned everything off in the Desire's default messages app, but it still continues to open the HTC message app. Also when I've sent an SMS & press back, it automatically goes to the HTC message app?? Will pressing 'Force Stop' in the manage applications section stop the HTC app, or will it stop everything to do with the SMS functionality? I've read all I can on this & other sites, but I can't get it to change. Is this just the way it is & it may be altered in the future.

Jul 27, 2010Got my Evo this past Thursday. Loving it. I'm interested in trying out handcent, but a deal breaker is having an icon with the number of unread messages. I installed Handcent today but there was no widget option, just the app option. Any idea why? SMS Unread Count didn't seem to have an option to start Handcent (that and the default icon is too cutesy).

Dec 8, 2013Since the time I have upgraded to KitKat- I have been facing the issue of Call History. Every Time I miss a Call and I click on the name/number- Its asks me to select a default option of whoch way to open that entry , that is, through Dialer or through History. I tried selecting history and clicked on the "always use this option" but the same thing kept happening every time. After a few tries, I chose the other option and did the same thing and it again kept appearing... It looks like there's a bug in this and it never really saves my preference.

Sep 9, 2010I don't know if this is the right forum for my questions, but I'm sure this will be appropriately moved if it's not. I rooted my EVO and flashed a ROM that has Launcher Pro installed. While I was playing with the phone I chose for the default launcher to be used. I'd like to change that now and can't find a way to make LP my default launcher.
Second, I'm not 100% sure about this, but I believe that most or all of the Sense widgets cannot be used while LP is being used. If that's the case, are there alternatives to the bookmarks widget and the Friend Stream widget?
And lastly, can anyone confirm that the EVO has LED colors other than red/orange and green? Those are the only two I've seen.
General :: How To Make Default App Stick
May 6, 2014i've been trying forever to make the default apps to stick, but each time the phone reboots - it will always ask me again which app should be the default one.
i've tried using 'default app manager pro' but it has done nothing.
this problem has become worse in recent days - now even without rebooting, the default app doesn't get saved even when i click 'Always'.
I'm using Note 3 on 4.4.2 Stock rom.
