I've noticed in my old blackberry that when I would send a message I had the option of adding a BCC recipients so that nobody else can see who else I fwd to. How can I do this on the Incredible? I've looked but I haven't been able to find that option. It's gotta have it I'm sure!

I was sitting around testing the PhoneTell app. I was calling my NON Google Voice phone number, the phone that receives GV calls and this is what i learned. Upon rejection of the phone call or if i miss the phone call it is automatically forwarding calls to my Google Voice Gmail account (voip)! Keep in mind I was NOT calling my Google Voice #. So upon rejection or missed call of your Normal number the call will be routed...and of course it will work as expected when actually calling your GV number.
This is astonishing and literally means no more missed calls. When I'm in a no signal zone it would seem like I don't have to go through the trouble of telling people my GV number as it will automatically route the call anyway?!
Here's my situation: I have an app that's been compiled using 1.5 SDK and minSdkVersion=3. Now I want to add 2 icons: one for high density screens like Droid and another one for low density screens like G1.
For this, I added the high density icon to new directory drawable-hdpi- v4/. I then compiled using 1.6 sdk and added targetSdkVersion="4" to the manifest. minSdkVersion is still 3.
This is working in limited testing, but I'm not sure if I have done everything correctly.
I have many questions:
1. By specifying v4 in drawable-hdpi-v4, the icon will not be displayed to 1.5 or below OS's. But what about users with 2.0 or higher SDK's? Will they get the non-hdpi icon, since they will have v6 or v7 ?
2. The documentation for targetSdkVersion states, "Specifying this target version allows the platform to disable compatibility settings that are not required for the target version (which may otherwise be turned on in order to maintain forward-compatibility)". Does this mean that my app will not be forward compatible as soon as I specify a targetSdkVersion? What exactly is being turned off?
3. Even if I leave out the targetSdkVersion="4", the app runs ok. So do I really need it?
4. Should I be using the latest SDK (2.1) and setting that as the targetsdkversion and compiling against that? Or some other combination of targetsdkversion and compiling sdk? I'm not using any API's that are not in 1.5..
5. Is any of this related to why some of my HTC Eris users have complained that they can no longer find my app in Market after upgrading to 2.1?
I did a search on this and didn't come up with any hits for the inc.If I want to send a long message (over 160 characters) I use to be able to send as mms on my bb and it would not break the message up into seperate messages like it did on regular sms.How do I do this on the Inc? I looked for a mms option when texting and didn't find one. I am using Handcent and shapewriter for a keyboard, but also looked on the stock messaging app and didn't see one there either.

I took a picture and tried to send it to a friend of mine and my wife two different times, with two different sized pictures and the message never goes through. I just keep getting a message sending error, until the notification gets so annoying I delete the message all together.

But she can send me photos just fine.I've tried to lower the quality down and she still does not receive them. Just this morning i turned my phone off when i get to work to charge it and turn it on...and i show i sent a text to my gf at 12:09pm...its now only 9:25AM. WTF? Its always force closing as well. View 2 Replies View RelatedIm having an issue sending a video on my incredible. i dont understand whats going on and i dont think im doing something wrong but who knows...
I went into camcorder, changed everything to defult. i changed the resolution to the 640 and was able to send up two a 2 second video. then i went to the lowest resolution which was like 320 or whatever and was able to send up to a 5 second video. thats about it... i sat on the phone with verizon maybe...2 hours? THEY could not figure it out. they said they has to borrow another verizon enployee's phone to mess with it and she kept getting the same issue saying the file is two large. its set for 30 seconds, then 20 seconds, 15, 10, all of them will not work over 5 seconds of a video to send. they said they dont understand why there is nothing in the settings saying switch to mms or sms or something and contacting someone to update that asap because it made no sence to them. i dont understand this and its getting annoying.
So then, i tried downloading some app called youcast or whatever, and it kind of worked. it says it bypasses the size limit or whatever. i sent a video to my friend and it says he got it, but needs to download the app first to view it. im waiting to hear from him if he downloads it and is able to view it. but that still sucks because what if you dont have an android? then youcast wont work.
And not only is this issue with me, but 6 of my friends with the htc incredible are not able to send videos either after they messed around with it all.
So my questions are...
Is there any other apps out there like youcast that might work or be better too?
My settings right now on camcorder are...
white balance: auto
resolution: QVGA(320x240) and i tried switching around between that all the way to 720p(1280x720)
storagehone storage and i have switched to storage card
encoding type MPEG4
Recording Limit: 30 seconds. again i tried all other settings.
I got the phone today. IT'S AWESOME. however, i've set up my gmail and school email accounts, seemingly without a hitch. I started getting emails right away. Then... i go to respond to the emails, through either account, and my email sending keeps failing! I sent it, then get a message a minute later saying they couldn't be sent.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can send mms to my friends on at&t that DON'T have iphones, they get them just fine. however, EVERYONE I've tried to send an mms to that has an iphone, it never gets through. this is using chomp for the most part, but I've also tried it with the stock messaging app (the girl i sent the message to using the stock messaging app got it once, but I've tried it at least 100 times over the past few days trying to figure out the issue.and she's gotten a message ONCE).regular SMS texts go through fine, and i can receive from iphones just fine.

I have a friend who is added to my Desire's contact list.
1. He is on my Facebook contact. (His facebook pic appears in my Desire contact list)
2. He is my Gmail contact as well.
3. He is added as a 'Phone Contact' as well.
I sent him a text few days ago but don't remember if it was using facebook or my phone (network provider sms) but now when I go in to 'Messages' and send him a message, I just can't figure out if I am sending him a message via Facebook or to his mobile number.
I've been using Handcent and I have trouble receiving and sending picture messages. When I get a picture is views it as a movie? how can I change it so it is just a picture, as for sending pictures, It's not working at all! Any fixes?

View 3 Replies View RelatedStill, same issue since i had the DInc from day 1, picture looks great, full 8mp, great looking, fills entire screen. I send an email, says converting to MMS, and it brings my great picture to a thumbnail size pic to other people who have DInc, BB storm, Iphones, and N1s. I see the UI resizing the picture but it's resizing it to something like 70kb, instead of resizing it to the max of 1200kb. When you resize it that low (70kb), you're losing almost 90% of the image size, my brother, who has a storm2, has to download the picture, then zoom it will give him a better picture, but if he doesnt do that, he gets only half a page.
I tried to change size to 5mp, to try to get it to somewhere around 1100kb, which will bypass the phone from resizing it and that seems to work, but it's hit or miss due to the texture of the picture, some will go WAY over 1100kb even if i use the 5mp option. Have we figured out how to send full screen, hi res shots to end users that have capable phones? its 2010 and almost everyone has a smart phone in some way shape of form, i hate that they are not receiving the full benefits of our camera when sending?
When I take a picture and try to send it via email it always tells me it's unable to send email and then sits in the outbox. Is there a way to find out why? I can send emails without attachments just fine.

So if they have a work, home and mobile it also gives me the ability to send messages to all 3 of those numbers, why? If I send a text I only want it going to their mobile....is everyones contacts set up like this?

When I do, it will show the person's name and phone number more than 20+ times! It's actually doing this for every contact I have, but only when I'm searching for a name when I'm trying to send a text message.
It doesn't affect my sending or receiving of messages, but it's a little annoying.
Just noticed that when I click on the "People" icon from home screen that some of my contact names are listed more than a dozen times!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a widget called APN OnOff to try to have a widget that turns off 3G when Im not using it, like the Mobile Toggle in Sense. But ever since I turned off APN I cant send MMS messages. So I want to know if the MMS is related to APN and if I can turn APN back on, because the APN OnOff toggle doesnt work.Oh im currently using Chomp, and its not Chomps fault because I cant send MMSs through Chomp or the default Messages app.

I thought it might be too big, but knew that the evo should reduce the size and send it.After doing some reading online, I found many people suggested downloading handcent.I did this, but still can't send or receive mms. My phone is not rooted, don't know what that would do anyway.I know there are some hardcore evo users reading these threads and I see many people have had the same problem I have, but I have not found an answer to this yet.It's not a huge deal if I can't see the picture my buddy send me of his ass, but with this phone I should be able to see it if I want to.
