I heard people talking so highly of Vlingo so I installed it last night. It really does work great. My problem is that when I tell it send an email, it uses my gmail account and not my other pop email account which is currently set as default in the Incredible settings.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have several email accounts that all funnel into GMail, and I have GMail set up so that I can send emails as if I were emailing from one of those various accounts (for example, I have an email account through my school. Emails received in that account go to GMail and I can send an email from GMail but put the "from" email address as my school email). I can't figure out how to do this on my Droid though.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI started a thread that wound up in the Droid X Troubleshooting forum, but I think this is an Android problem, not a Droid X problem... I'm having read receipt issues with the stock Gmail app (it won't let me send them and it auto-sends them to people who request them of me, without giving me the option of sending or declining). In addition, I'm pretty disappointed with the Gmail app, especially when compared to the Blackberry's handling of Gmail. Blackberry's only gmail issue is when you send an email to someone through gmail you get a copy regardless of whether you want one or not.
I'm really concerned about this and would love to find an alternative -- K9 doesn't appear to be compatible with GMail so even if I wanted to I couldn't use that. Anyone have any suggestions? The web interface, incidentally, doesn't feature read receipts -- already considered logging in to send important emails that way. I'm guessing if there's no alternative then the only alternative is to return to my Blackberry for the time being :-/
I have 2 gmail (apps) accounts on my phone.The first account: I want to know when I get an email.The second account: I don't want to know when I get an email - but still want, for checking and sending only when I look at the account.Is it possible to disable notification on one account and keep the other?I've got a Sony Xperia X10 Mini Pro and have waited a looooong time to get 2.1, JUST for the multi email accounts capability - now that I've got it, I'm not liking it because I get disturbed when I get email on the second account.

I have experienced it on the stock rom, and now Liquid's rom 1.4.1.I always do a complete wipe, and everything else works great, but if I reply to any email, the synchronizing between gmail on the phone and gmail on the computer never works.If I star something, read it, or send a reply, nothing ever gets accomplished, the sending just stalls at "sending" for ever. Anyone have a solution?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with my Gmail app where I think no information is being 'sent' from the phone. I receive incoming mails, but no mails are sent. Though I delete incoming mails, the next notification which I receive when I get the next mail will show "17 mails" though I would have deleted the previous 16 emails. When I check email on my browser, all the emails what I had deleted are still there. I have tried a factory reset and I still have a problem.

Is anyone else having this issue, or had this issue and care to help how to reslove it? I had the Smoked Glass Rom, but switched back to my old edited rooted nandroid backup, then even tried the OEM version I had backed up, but it still won't send.

At the moment I am using the default htc email widget, however when ever I read an email from my gmail account it doesnt update the read status so it still shows as unread.
I would like one that would update the read status and possible the support for unified inbox so I can see new mail from hotmail account and gmail.
My gmail account was easy to set up, and by going into options/settings I can edit my signature. But the option for editing/adding a signature on a none-gmail account is nowhere to be seen. What gives?
View 19 Replies View RelatedI have setup up two Gmail accounts and a couple of other email accounts on my Note 3 (4.3) but only the first Google account shows up in the email app. Both show up in the Gmail app but I prefer to have everything working in email so I can monitor all my email (hotmail, Exchange, yahoo too) in the combined inbox. Do I need to add the email account for the second Google account manually as an email account? That seems stupid and everything else is working for both Google accounts and both have email sync enabled.

Anytime I click it it gives me an authentication error and asks me to sign into it, which I can't do of course, becauseit no longer exists. View 2 Replies View Relatedi'm trying to add a 2nd gmail account through the gmail app. it goes through the entire process, goes to the sync page and allows me to select what i wish to sync up then gives me a confirmation that the account has been added but when i go to the gmail app and check accounts it still only lists the 1 original account. i've tried powering the phone off and restarting - also added the account via HTC email app and deleted the 2nd account via HTC email app just in case it was conflicting there

I know I can set up the Eris to poll foor hotmail but I have a question.Will email run smoother if I just forward my hotmail account to my Gmail? View 6 Replies View RelatedI have wiped data and restored my apps twice with Titanium so far. It all works well, but two minor problems. First, every time I do it all of my previous call logs, and all of my previous handcent text messages also get reset. Is there a way I can restore all of these as well?
Also is there a way I can restore my non-gmail email account so I do not have to go through the whole set up of putting in the incoming and outgoing settings all over again. It isn't a huge deal, but it does get annoying redoing the path, the port and the security every single time.
I might just not be doing the correct restore as I only do the batch restore missing apps with data and not all apps with data, but I do not know for sure.
I usually send out group emails on my computer so I thought id set it up on my razr. I got the group set up under contacts without any flaws. I go in to send an email to the group and it had them all set up for me nice and neatly. Then it asks me for an account and gmail isnt even an option.
I really dont want to have to add my gmail account under the email accounts section then id have two email apps if you know what i mean.

I'm in the process of switching from an iPhone 4 to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus purchased direct from Google. I wish to setup my Yahoo account, but I've run into a problem. I can receive and send emails without problems, but I can't find a feature to automatically bcc messages back to myself. I do this so that I can synchronize Sent messages with my PC. Is this feature missing in Android V4.1 or am I just not seeing it?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using the email app that came installed on my AT&T Captivate to check my gmail and Exchange email but I also setup the gmail app in order to sync with my gmail contacts and calendar. I now get my gmail in both apps, is there a way to stop the gmail from retrieving my email without affecting sync with contacts and calendar?
Can I stop the gmail app from running all the time if so how? everytime i check task killer i have both email apps running.
I have been reading up on the concept of push email, and how it's supposed to be a huge battery saver (since in theory, the phone would only receive a notification of an e-mail, and not the actual e-mail itself). I have also been reading up on how the "Gmail" app's version of Push email is not the same as other Push e-mail software, in that it requires the phone to "Sync" whenever an e-mail hits the Gmail server. As a result, whenever I would try to turn Auto Sync off (supposedly to save battery), I would no longer be able to get my e-mail notifications in real time.
With this in mind, I attempted to find another application that would enable me to use Push email for my Gmail account, without having to "Sync" with Gmail's server. After messing around for a bit, I found that I could manually input my Gmail account info (Incoming Server, Outgoing Server, Username, Pass, Etc.) into the stock "Email" app that comes with the X. Once this was done, I was able to enable "Data Push" in the "Email" app's Settings menu (as well turning off any Polling intervals). By doing this, I was able to receive new Gmail notifications through the "E-mail" app, even when Auto Sync had been turned off. As a bonus, I received them around 15 seconds faster than I did with the "Gmail" app's version of Push.....
I got the phone today. IT'S AWESOME. however, i've set up my gmail and school email accounts, seemingly without a hitch. I started getting emails right away. Then... i go to respond to the emails, through either account, and my email sending keeps failing! I sent it, then get a message a minute later saying they couldn't be sent.

All of a sudden, when I do the same thing, it opens up the G mail In box and I have to click the email itself to open it. Am I delusional and this is how it's always been?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen Froyo came in, I noticed the Exchange calendar became `combined' with the Google calendar. This was a bit alarming, as I don't use the Google calendar and the Exchange account completely disappeared.
I re-setup the Exchange account and spent some time coaxing it to sync the calendar.
Every few days I get a notice that the email service requires a FC and the Exchange account disappears. Start again from Go.
I have Sync turned off, as well as auto app sync. I do not pull mail unless I need it. Calendar and Contacts are set to sync when I turn on Sync. Not sure if this impacts anything but this only started after Froyo. Getting tired of replacing the Exchange acct.
I have my original gmail account "slaved" to my google apps account, so when I log in to user@gmail.com it displays my google apps user@domain.com as being logged in. For most things this is great, but now with the android phone there are some gotchya's First was the Market. I had to create yet another gmail account to buy anything off the market, because when I sign in to my 'gmail' account on my phone it signs me in as an apps user.
Second, is my google voice (attached to gmail) has its own set of contacts associated with my gmail account, and they are not synced with my google apps account. I was hoping the phone would sort of mesh them together, however I'm not seeing that. On my iPhone I was using soocial, however they recently stopped allowing unlimited contacts and their new free limit is below my number of contacts. Is there a way for the phone to keep these to contact lists "connected" and synced together?
