HTC Incredible :: Way To Sort People Widget Other Than Alphabetically?
Jul 14, 2010Is there any way to sort the HTC People Widget other than alphabetically? Or, is there a way to place a person shortcut on the home screen with a larger thumbnail (like the size of the ones in the People widget)?

May 19, 2010My problem is this, I downloaded Handcent and really like it, however, I can't send messages from home. I have marginal service here (around -98 avg.) but I do get 3G. Whenever I send a message it says Message Failed - Retry, Cancel? I've even had this problem in places with great coverage for both 3G and cell service. The stock messaging app works just fine. So what I've been doing is receiving messages with Handcent and then sending them using the stock app.
So, does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? Are there any settings that can be changed? Does handcent use 3G to send messages?
I'm now trying Chomp to see if that's any better. And, just an FYI, I'm having trouble with text messages, not MMS. I haven't tried sending any pics or videos yet, I've just been sending SMS.

Sep 3, 2010Has anyone else noticed that you can't send a text message to more than 10 people at a time through the stock text messaging app ever since Froyo? This was a major blow to me as I coach a softball team and have to send out a text message to 15 or more people every week. It worked before Froyo but not anymore.
Handcent allows this, so I switched over to it. But now I am getting double notifications when I receive a text message. How do I turn "off" the stock text messaging app?

Sep 9, 2010It wont let me choose contact when starting a new message. Usually when i start to type a contact name it auto finds contacts with those letters. I get nothng now. I uninstalled and re-installed but it happened again.

HTC Incredible :: Sending A Text Message - Show Person's Name And Phone Number More Than 20+ Times
Aug 10, 2010When sending a text message, I click on "new message," then type in the person's name.
When I do, it will show the person's name and phone number more than 20+ times! It's actually doing this for every contact I have, but only when I'm searching for a name when I'm trying to send a text message.
It doesn't affect my sending or receiving of messages, but it's a little annoying.
Just noticed that when I click on the "People" icon from home screen that some of my contact names are listed more than a dozen times!
Sprint HTC Hero :: Not Getting Texts With Handcent While Phone Is Idle / Sort It Out?
Dec 10, 2009This is a multi question post kinda =). If I kill Handcent with task killer and put my phone in sleep mode with a single press of the power key I will not get any texts until I wake my phone up and then they all roll in. If I don't kill the task I seem to get texts while the phone is idle and asleep. Also I set the default text app the hancent now when ever I send a text it only opens handcent which is good, but if I receive a text it opens handcent the default app and google voice.
Any ideas on how to sort this out ? I did a forum search but did not find any thing that solved my issues.
HTC EVO 4G :: Texts Sending To Random People
Jul 1, 2010I had this problem three times today already, and its getting annoying. I go into the messages app and click on a person to send a text to. that person's thread opens up, and i can see all the messages to that person. i type the message and click send. a few minutes later, i get a text from a DIFFERENT person, asking me what i was talking about. Apparantly the text gets send to someone else, even though i am SURE i was in the correct thread. i just installed the update the other day, and this never happened before. anyone else experience this?

Jun 17, 2010I have had no problems sending mms on the EVO until tonight. I sent two picture MMS today no problem. However, tonight I am unable to get anything out. I've tried turning my wifi off, but i can't send either way. I just get the cycling circular "working" icon to the left of the message and nothing happens. It should be noted that the stock Messaging app still sends fine.

It'll say the file size is too big and then I get the little red x to resend, but the same thing happens. When I open the stock text message app, take a photo, and send it the app resizes it automatically. What's the issue? How do I get Handcent to resize the photo automatically? Is there any setting I may be missing with handcent.I checked the settings option and found nothing. It tells me it is resizing and everything, and it has worked in the past. Sep 27, 2010I'm going to post this here first as this may be Galaxy S specific. I have handcent installed and love it. It's been working great. However tonight when I went to test out sending a picture to my girlfriends phone she received two copies of it. It shows up on my screen as me sending one, but on hers as if i did it twice in a row. What I suspect is that Handcent is sending one and the default messaging app is sending the other. When I open up either of them they both show the thread and show 1 picture sent. I've looked through all the menus in both apps and can't figure out what the problem is.
