Does anyone know of a specific problem with blackberry's receiving picture messages? When I send them my friend gets an error message and can't download the pic. I have tried sending different sized pics, even pics he sent to me and still the same problem.

I'm having some problems with an error message I'm getting from the Facebook application that came with the phone. The message im getting is "an error has occurred while fetching data [malformedJSon]". This is when I go to new feeds. Anyone else having this issue or know how to resolve it?

I took a picture and tried to send it to a friend of mine and my wife two different times, with two different sized pictures and the message never goes through. I just keep getting a message sending error, until the notification gets so annoying I delete the message all together.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am currently working on implementing C2DM stuff and have got this far.
1. Register the device and get back a device registration ID 2. The server gets a Client Authorization Token for "ac2dm" service 3. The server then sends a message to the device via C2DM using the registration id and the client authorization code and gets the following "NotRegistered" message back.
Meaning: NotRegistered — The registration_id is no longer valid, for example user has uninstalled the application or turned off notifications. Sender should stop sending messages to this device.
The thing is as soon as i get the registration id i am sending it to my server which is then sending a message via C2DM all within the space of 1 minute. so how can it not be valid?
I have registered for use the C2DM service and i would expect that if i was not registered with Google then i would not get a registration device id right? Although i don't remember getting an email from google saying i was registered apart from that when i registered to be white listed it did say something about being added to a list. Anyway your views and opinions are welcome.
It comes up when sending text messages. Not in the messaging widget, but when you actually go into your text messages, and I think its some, not all. After the message is sent, on the right side of the screen/message, there is this red exclamation point.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI can send mms to my friends on at&t that DON'T have iphones, they get them just fine. however, EVERYONE I've tried to send an mms to that has an iphone, it never gets through. this is using chomp for the most part, but I've also tried it with the stock messaging app (the girl i sent the message to using the stock messaging app got it once, but I've tried it at least 100 times over the past few days trying to figure out the issue.and she's gotten a message ONCE).regular SMS texts go through fine, and i can receive from iphones just fine.

Handcent sometimes is sending the same message over to some people even hours after sending it, does anyone know what might be the issue?

1. He is on my Facebook contact. (His facebook pic appears in my Desire contact list)
2. He is my Gmail contact as well.
3. He is added as a 'Phone Contact' as well.
I sent him a text few days ago but don't remember if it was using facebook or my phone (network provider sms) but now when I go in to 'Messages' and send him a message, I just can't figure out if I am sending him a message via Facebook or to his mobile number.
When sending a text message, I click on "new message," then type in the person's name.
When I do, it will show the person's name and phone number more than 20+ times! It's actually doing this for every contact I have, but only when I'm searching for a name when I'm trying to send a text message.
It doesn't affect my sending or receiving of messages, but it's a little annoying.
Just noticed that when I click on the "People" icon from home screen that some of my contact names are listed more than a dozen times!
I finally got the guts to do root, and this is my problem.When I am trying to connect to my device i get this error message in the middle of the loop of the adb shell
* daemon not running. starting it now *
then the loop stops, or I should say hangs up there till I hit control c then hit yes. I tried and tried for a couple hours and cannot get this to work. I followed everything on the 10 min video, but still cannot get it to work. in my device manager it is installed under android devices (my htc) not sure what that is windows XP pro.Also in the recovery mode it goes to HTC storage device.What am I doing wrong?
A day or two after updating to FROYO I randomly receive an error message that says " Sorry,The process com.android.mms has stopped unexpectedly.Please try again later." It asks me to force close also.It doesn't seem to affect anything but I'm wondering what this error means.Any insight?

However, within the last day, I've been getting an error message which reads "Connection Failed: This application requires network access. Enable mobile network or Wi-Fi to download data." I've gotten this message when initiating the browser, going into email, etc. Of course, I can't access anything via the web.
When I go to settings, mobile network is checked off, although it does say "turning on..."
Whenever I get a picture message it says download error. I am able to retrieve the picture but I have to open my message app and see who sent me a message. I am unable to access the message via the notification bar. I am using the stock messaging stop.

I have handcent, but get the same error message with stock messaging app.
The only things I could find within the incredible forums was that it may be linked to a app bug, which that specific app I have never used, or this is a known HTC error which I can't confirm.
I have been getting a error message in my notification bar that says "mounted read only--the sd card has an unexpected problem. tap this to fix" well it usually get fixed when I tap the message but not today, the message keeps coming back, any ideas?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have 9 Favorites set up on my Incredible, 8 of them work perfectly (I have them fixed up so that when I choose the person, the entire address card comes up so I can choose to call, email, text or whatever), and the ninth (set up only to place a telephone call) used to work perfectly, now not so much.When I select the contact, I get a message that says "Call not sent, no valid number entered".I have looked at his address card, and all seems correct.I have not changed anything so really don't know what is going on.I thought maybe if I deleted this one contact and then re-added, it would fix it, but when I try to delete this one, the phone looks like it wants to delete the other 8 as well, and I really don't want to have to set this up again (actually, can't remember how I got them to show the whole address book entry).

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Hero is frequently haven't problems with failed SMS messages. It's increased since I upgraded the handset to Three's official 2.1 upgrade, although it had a habit of failing messages when it was running 1.5, too.
Three have swapped my handset because of previous issues with it, so it would appear to be a network/ Android issue.
Today at work I went into my people application and sent a contact card too a friend.
When I done this it went to send it through messages rather than through handcent for whatever reason. Either way the friend didn't get the contact card. After this I went into handcent to send a contact and nothing would send. So I tried sending a normal text message and nothing. After half an hour I rebooted phone but still nothing do. I decided to turn phone off and take battery and SIM card out and then turn back on. This still didn't fix it so I went into manage applications and cleared all cache and data from HTC messages application.
Again this didn't work but I am worried what data I may have deleted now? 3 hours later and everything was working ok or seeming too however every now and then I got the message sending failed. I've had full signal throughout this. Also when I now receive a message I am getting 2 messages notifications come up one from handcent the other from HTC messages application? On another note what cache can I clear? I've got astro which allows me too clear thumbnail and internal cache which I do weekly but how can I clear all my application cache at once? and should I clear caches?
I love Handcent and I know it's super-easy to send message to a group of contacts but I have two questions that I have not been able to figure out:
1) is there a way to create a group and name it instead of having it appear as just a list of people?
2) whenever I send a message to a group it shows each individual message getting sent...is there a way to 'consolidate' this so when I send a message to the group I only see the message I sent once instead of once for each contact it is being sent to?
I'm just wandering if there is a way to stop the notification tone from playing after I send a message?
Running android 2.1.
I text my kids with the same message sometimes. Is there a way of creating a group with the 5 of them and a saved message?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a small but very annoying issue sending texts sometimes...Basically my office has an intermittent signal so occasionally my connectivity drops. If this happens while I'm trying to send a text the message just sits there with the 'processing' animation (the spinning circle thingy) going constantly - it rarely times out and outright fails, usually just continually tries even when I'm back into a good signal area (I've even left it in a good signal area and checked hours later to find it still trying!). I've tried going in and out of airplane mode or even turning the phone off and on to try to get it to just fail so I can send again but nothing makes it give up or succeeed. When it gets into this state the only way out seems to be to delete the message and enter it again. (for info I'm using Handcent, but checking in native message service shows similar effect so don't think thats related)

Is there a way for sending a single message to multiple recipients for the message to be placed inside the conversation for each individual instead of creating a new thread for that one message?
I downloaded the Handcent App and even it does the same thing as the stock app. It appears there's an option to split the message up as described when sent to a group. But it still creates the new thread whenever sending to individual names.
So when sending text messages, I get the following message every single time i press 'send'
"com.android.mms A large number of text SMS messages are being sent. Select 'ok' to send"
So.....I did send out 100+ messages within like 5 minutes...just sending out a mass txt message letting people know of my new number. So is this Androids way of anti-spam?
I need a way to turn it off, because now I have to make this extra step every single time i send a text message
