When I take a picture and try to send it via email it always tells me it's unable to send email and then sits in the outbox. Is there a way to find out why? I can send emails without attachments just fine.

I've been using Handcent and I have trouble receiving and sending picture messages. When I get a picture is views it as a movie? how can I change it so it is just a picture, as for sending pictures, It's not working at all! Any fixes?

View 15 Replies View RelatedStill, same issue since i had the DInc from day 1, picture looks great, full 8mp, great looking, fills entire screen. I send an email, says converting to MMS, and it brings my great picture to a thumbnail size pic to other people who have DInc, BB storm, Iphones, and N1s. I see the UI resizing the picture but it's resizing it to something like 70kb, instead of resizing it to the max of 1200kb. When you resize it that low (70kb), you're losing almost 90% of the image size, my brother, who has a storm2, has to download the picture, then zoom it will give him a better picture, but if he doesnt do that, he gets only half a page.
I tried to change size to 5mp, to try to get it to somewhere around 1100kb, which will bypass the phone from resizing it and that seems to work, but it's hit or miss due to the texture of the picture, some will go WAY over 1100kb even if i use the 5mp option. Have we figured out how to send full screen, hi res shots to end users that have capable phones? its 2010 and almost everyone has a smart phone in some way shape of form, i hate that they are not receiving the full benefits of our camera when sending?
Has anyone else had a problem when trying to send a MMS message. I took a picture and tried to send it to a friend of mine and my wife two different times, with two different sized pictures and the message never goes through. I just keep getting a message sending error, until the notification gets so annoying I delete the message all together.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can send mms to my friends on at&t that DON'T have iphones, they get them just fine. however, EVERYONE I've tried to send an mms to that has an iphone, it never gets through. this is using chomp for the most part, but I've also tried it with the stock messaging app (the girl i sent the message to using the stock messaging app got it once, but I've tried it at least 100 times over the past few days trying to figure out the issue.and she's gotten a message ONCE).regular SMS texts go through fine, and i can receive from iphones just fine.

I got the phone today. IT'S AWESOME. however, i've set up my gmail and school email accounts, seemingly without a hitch. I started getting emails right away. Then... i go to respond to the emails, through either account, and my email sending keeps failing! I sent it, then get a message a minute later saying they couldn't be sent.

The Motorola Droid definitely had this option, but on the Incredible it looks like it only lets me apply a "Label", which I'm unfamiliar with, though this does not actually move the e-mail to that folder.
Seems that camera is saving pictures darker than originally taken. Anyone else notice this? To test i took a couple pics of my computer monitor, they are nice and bright just after camera takes the pic but when i go to albums to view them they are considerably darker. I even bumped the brightness all the way up to +3 that helped some but still dark.

Is there a way to have your images on your SD card backed up to Picasa as an automated process? I think I lost some recently after I did a factory reset the image numbers started over I think and it has overwritten about 50 images.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure how to explain this. If I take a picture with my camera, it looks great on my phone. Colors are deep and full and the sharpness is fine. However, when I mail it to myself or try to access it from my computer, the colors look washed out and flat. It's not really a blown highlight problem and I'm shooting at 8MP. Here's an example:

When I tap to focus on the camera and am really close to something it goes from blurry to sharp and then blurry at the last second (when it snaps the picture) I took this video to demonstrate what I mean. Is there any way to take a picture like this? Or to manually focus with the stock camera app? Or an app that will help me take good quality macro pics of coins, pins, etc. I will pay for an app. I saw posts with the macro camera lens but I have no desire to glue a metal washer onto my camera lens.

I have a rooted phone with froyo.
Just got the phone today I was putting music on my phone from doubleTwist everything was going fine.
Then i put pictures / videos on my phone and i started getting an SD error and my camera stopped working.
So i reformatted the SD card and the card started to read fine but the camera is still not working
The camera / video looks like its just flashing red & white no picture at all.
(I tried google goggles as well and it looks the same)
Camera was working FINE before SD problems started
Tried doing a factory reset too
Anyone having trouble with the Layar Camera View mode? When I first installed this about 3 month ago, I was able to use it. Several updates (any maybe Froyo) later, It wont go into camera mode.I've uninstalled and re-installed, still no change.Any advice? When I send an email via my yahoo account (using the native app), it fails to send perhaps 1/3 of the time. This is not a new problem, but seems to me to be getting worse. I simply get an "Unable to send mail" error notification. Usually, a couple at sync will make it successfully send. Or it will go out sooner or later if I wait. Tonight, it's not working at all.I've checked my settings, and they are all correct. And I do not have WiFi on. And as I said, it does work sometimes. But I did notice that if I try to re-confirm my settings using the setup wizard, it returns with a "server not responding" error for the SMTP settings tonight. I hadn't thought of doing this before, so I don't know if this is the usual issue, or "just tonight".Have others experienced this issue? I'm wondering if there is something broken locally, or whether Yahoo's servers are unreliable, or Note that all other network connectivity seems fine. And I have tried deleting and re-creating this account (on the handset), which has not helped - though I haven't tried it recently.

Right now I would rather pay to downgrade to another phone like a BB or even pay full retail value for a completely different Droid because I am afraid if they send me another Eris it is just going to break again.
If I call VZW and talk to them, will they send me another Eris that will most likely to break or will they send me a D1 or an Incredible?
I love my Eris but i just can't use it anymore and i feel like i will keep having problems if they keep sending me refurbs.
I have my work email setup in the email app. Ive never had an issue sending email on any phone ive had before.
All of my settings are correct and i can receive them fine.
They just sit in outbox and whenever i go select them all and tell it to send selected messages nothing happens. They don't send and I don't get any error or anything.
I have just got a Samsung Galaxy Portal and discovered it does not support sending pictures by bluetooth!
Does anybody know of an app I can use to provide this function?
When I first got my phone, which was Monday, It would send pictures messages fine. Now for some reason, when I send them, my friends say they can't see it. The error message they get when receiving it says, "One or more of the messaging components have been deleted by MMS adaption. Either the message was too large or the components were unsuitable for your handset." This has never happened before.
