At first I got my email to set up fine. I received a list of emails after i set it up, so I know it was connected. But then when I tried to SEND emails they wouldn't send. I deleted my email account and started over, and now I can't even get it to set up correctly.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with an HTC Desire. I have an emailaddress that does not require authentication for the outgoing mail. I've unchecked the "authentication required" tickbox and saved the settings.
Somehow the phone automatically resets the Authentication setting and there I can't send email.
My question: how can I prevent the Desire from automatically place a checkmark next to "Authentication Required"?
I have an HTC Magic running the stock Roger's 2.1 rom, using K9 mail with MobileMe. I find if I compose an email from scratch, no problems. But if I reply to a message it won't send... it just sits in the Outbox. If I manually force it to send from the Outbox it will usually go... but not always. Has anyone come across anything like this before? Seems pretty weird that a 'fresh' email will send, but not a reply (the only different seemingly being that K9 is filling in the To field itself). I guess in the meantime I could give another email app such as MailDroid a spin, but I'm rather fond of K9.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to figure out whats going on. I have 2 DI for myself and girlfriend. I have my email (gmail and yahoo) setup through the HTC Mail Client and they work fine. I setup my other phone the same way and it worked fine, but once the yahoo account completed the process of downloading the inbox, I got an Authentication Error stating the login was incorrect. The login is not wrong and works fine to login via the standard web page. I tried to delete the Yahoo Account on the HTC, but when I went to setup again I had the same issue. Not sure how or why this could be happening. Any advice is appreciated. Also verified all the yahoo email settings on my working device and they are all the same on the other device with the issue.

Mail app that was recently put in the Market, I have been using the stock mail app to check my Yahoo! mail.Last night when I checked my Yahoo! Mail through the stock mail app, I was getting weird error messages. Most of the time it would go ahead and put me in my Yahoo! inbox but there would also be a message saying "login failed." I would click OK and then go about my business because e-mails were coming through. I figured it would sort itself out at some point.This morning, it was still doing it and it was annoying, so I re-booted the phone. Same problem. So I decided to delete the account and re-install it (a few weeks ago I had some issues with my Exchange mail account and deleting then re-installing fixed them.)Now, when I try to re-install the account it says "Authentication failed. Please verify your username/password." I have tried it over and over. I know I am using the right username and password - I just used them on my desktop PC to get into the account. And my Yahoo! Mail app still works on the phone.Anyone have any ideas what has happened and/or how I can fix this? I really want to continue to be able to check my Yahoo! mail on my phone without having to use the Yahoo! app.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have all of my contacts stored as (xxx) xxx-xxxx. When I am within my own area code, I have always only dialed the last seven digits (no area code). When I do this, my Incredible doesn't recognize it as a stored contact.
I've tried storing it in different ways, xxx-xxx-xxxx, xxxxxxxxx, etc, but I do not seem to be able to make it hapen.
From what I've read, one solution is to dial the area code everytime, but who wants to do that in a local setting? Very annoying every smartphone I've ever had prior to this was able to interpret the last seven as the contact when the phone is in the default area code (and yes, mine is set to my area code).
I have a pop e-mail account set up on my incredible to check every 10 minutes for new e-mail, but it never does. the only time it checks for new mail is when I manually launch the mail app. My Gmail account works fine. I will send myself a e-mail from my gmail account to my pop e-mail account (another email address) and that email will not hit my incredible until I manually launch the mail app.

I've synced it with Exchange so I get my gmail as it comes, but when I reply from either the gmail app or my PC, it doesn't appear in my HTC sent mail. I've refreshed and nothing happens. I prefer the HTC layout better than the gmail app and love that I get previews on the widget, but the gmail app works exactly as I need it to. How can I display/sync my sent mail on HTC mail when sending from my PC or gmail app?

I recently placed a call to someone, and when the call became connected I heard a loud beeping sound constantly and the person on the other line couldn't hear me. I had installed an app, Task Killer, prior to this so I naturally thought this was affected. I shut down the app, placed the call again, and the same thing happened. I had to reset the battery on the phone to fix this problem.

I remember getting this with handcent and default text program but easily shut that off. Can't seem to figure it out with mail. On my computer, I can see they are linked.I have my Yahoo account listed in Gmail on my laptop when I look at it.I can see all the Yahoo messages imported in my Gmail on my laptop.I also have my local cable provider email (Cox) linked to my Gmail which also shows on my laptop and it imports on both my laptop AND my Inc.I have a seperate Yahoo Icon on my phone and I can get my Yahoo emails on that just fine but I want to have all my emails linked and dumped into my Gmail so I don't have to go into different icons to get my mail.I heard you can do this, even called Verizon and he assured me you could, then wasn't sure, then said he didn't know but to get in touch with Google for this.

I looked for a mms option when texting and didn't find one. I am using Handcent and shapewriter for a keyboard, but also looked on the stock messaging app and didn't see one there either.

But she can send me photos just fine.I've tried to lower the quality down and she still does not receive them.
