Did you see that Bell wireless is discontinuing their HTC Legend phones because of screen shortages. They are not taking any more orders for Legends'. Hmmmm.... makes me wonder how long before our incredible Incredibles' follow. We could soon all be owners of a very rare breed though! Might increase re-sale value.

I don't know if there has been anymore elaboration on the subject of the impending switch to LCD for the Incredibles or when it was supposed to go into effect, but I may or may not have stumbled onto something. I, finally, received my phone today. I haven't turned it on yet, as I have it sitting on the charger for another 3 hours. However, I did happen to flip through some of the booklets that came with the phone. If everyone could gather up their "Product Safety & Warranty Brochure," we can compare and see if there is a difference. On page 8 under the "Cleaning" bullet, it says "blah blah blah blah, but NEVER use water to clean the LCD screen." If any of you got your phones weeks or months earlier and it says "LED" for you, the switch may have already happened. As I said, I haven't turned the phone on yet and this is the only thing I have to go off of right now.
View 49 Replies View RelatedIs it me or are the super amoled screesn simply not as sharp as normal lcd screens such as the EVO or Droids?I am a stickler for a sharp screen and looking at the super amoleds seems like looking as font constructed from lego blocks.The resolution grid, if you will, is very obvious/visible and not very impressive.I noticed this first on the Droid Incredible and to a worst extent on the Samsung Galaxy S which I looked at yesterday.I am simply not very impressed at either of these screens and wonder if we will suffer the same visual fate in the event that a future superphone or even subsequent revisions of the EVO switches to the amoled screens. Sure the colors are great but if that means blocky font then I am not willing to take one step forward and two backward.To be honest I am completely satisfied with color on my EVO, just wished resolution was higher.

The main reason I sold my MotoDroid to get the HTC Incredible was for SenseUI and now everybody is wanting to ditch it. I need more Sense ROMs to play with and theres just nothing to choose from. SO I figured I would start a poll and see if I am the only one. So is it a Sense or Senseless ROM preference?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been agonizing for a month between the X and the Dinc. Up until last night, I still had no idea which one I was going to buy. I liked the video capabilities of the X, but from everything I'd read motoblur sucks. Also, for some strange reason I was hung up on the Dinc's lack of a dedicated camera button. I ordered my Dinc at 3 pm today, and I'm pleased to say it will be here by 3pm tomorrow. At which point I'm going to run over my Blackberry 8900 with my car.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have an Incredible and a friend just got the Evo. I also went to HTC's Evo launch party in NYC so I've had my fair share of time with it and I have to say, IMHO, I was shocked at the difference in AMOLED vs LCD.
I never really gave much thought to it and I always thought it wouldn't really make a difference but HOLY COW.
It was the first and glaring thing to me whenever comparing the phones. Everything from the home screen to widgets to photos, videos, web sites. It was quite dramatic. The LCD on the Evo always looked kind of washed out since I've become used to the AMOLED.
The viewing angles, crispness, deep blacks and color saturation on the AMOLED is a huge win for me.
My battery has never been worse since upgrading to Froyo. I don't use an auto task killer but I did use SystemPanel to manually close applications once in awhile. Now that I can't kill tasks easily, I just let everything run to see how it would turn out. I'm not saying the battery life is horrible, but it is noticeably worse now. I realize users experience will vary based on how many applications they have installed and running. I have not installed any new applications since Froyo.

I've noticed that all of the official literature regarding the Incredible describes the screen as WVGA OLED -not AMOLED. Can a screen be OLED without AM (active matrix) technology - and if so, what will the difference be between the Incredible's screen and the N1's AMOLED display?

When I was on the main home screen, the phone switched over to all three of the left home screens on its own (it switched to these home screens one after another). The phone decided to have a mind of its own and was actually switching between screens itself. Every time I hit the home button it would switch to screen 2 and three and so on and so on. Also when I tried to text right after that I was unable to input text for w.e. reason. After a shut off and turn on of the phone the issue was resolved; "weird". Anyone else having this problem?

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I go to use my phone to pull up an app and hit the home screen and it starts scrolling between 3 or 4 different screens without me even touching the phone. It did it for about 10 seconds then stopped, then started doing it again, all the while I haven't touched the phone.
So I thought maybe it was a rogue app I installed so I got to delete the last few I installed and when I hit the uninstall button it is highlighted green like I am pressing it, but I got it to uninstall. Then when I go to hit the 'OK' button after the install it wouldn't let me because the button was highlighted green.
Strange I thought.
Is this a software issue, a rogue app issue, or what?

View 2 Replies View Relatedyeah unforunatley my phone hase been flawless since the 6/05 when I got if from Amazon, besides the pink hue of the screen, but I have noticed that I have lint/dirt between the screens you think there would be some kind of sealant or a gasket to keep this crap out of the screens, mine is just a few specks but they are really big specks and bugs the f-out of me so I emailed amazon yesterday and they are going to sent me a replacement, they said july 13th-july 20 it should be here, so hopefully the one I get is still the AMOLED screen not the new one they are talking about switch too.
