Does anyone know if the lack of "bubble notification" (the green circle with the number of missed VM, Emails) is lacking because of no Root access or is this something that ADW, LP, Etc. just have not incorporated. It's wierd but I like the bubbles.

I am having a heck of a time getting any pictures and many downloaded wallpapers to show up on my HTC Incredible. After I set the picture or whatever and crop it, I return to the home screen and the Colorful Bubble HTC Wallpaper always shows up instead, only the live wallpaper really works all the time. Anyone else have the same problem or know a solution?

View 2 Replies View RelatedCould an alternate home screen app replace the assets such as s "menu_item_background_pressed.9.png" or "list_selector_background_focus.9.png", both found in frameworks/base/ core/res/res/drawable in the open source project? I have altered those by changing out the assets and recompiling.
But can I make it so the installation of the home screen will open up framework-res.apk, replace the asset, then re-package framework- res.apk? I realize this would then have broad ramifications, but just wondering if it could be done. thanks.
Also wondering if a alt home screen app, can replace icons of core apps, such as Contacts, etc.
The Home sample in the android sdk doesn't implement the Add item, which bring up the "Add to home screen" popup window, and Notifivcations item in onCreateOptionsMenu and onOptionsItemSelected. How to do that like the default home?

When I have e mail or text messages I get a notification sound and a number over the box or up the top but I get nothing with the face book app.I have it set to refresh every 30 mins and notifications are switched on.Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?I am using version 1.3.2.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWith the old 1.6 software on my X10, the lack of an automatic screen lock when in an active call was mildly annoying, as not all areas of the screen were active. However, with the new 2.1, just about anywhere on the screen becomes active (especially when juggling two simultaneous calls). What are the chances that we'll see a 'lock screen' function for phone calls? Those of us who actually use the phone for phone calls whilst holding it would surely appreciate it. Other android devices have had this for years.

Seven is really pointless for me, it makes finding the right screen take a little longer and there's just not enough good quality widgets that I need to use. I could do better with 5 and possibly just 3.Second is that when I'm not on a homescreen and I hit the home button, I'd like it to go back to the LAST homescreen I was on, not the center one. And if I'm already on a homescreen, once again pull up the homescreen select menu, instead of going to the center homescreen. It's a waste of a button press to always go to that center screen when pressing the home button.

The main reason I sold my MotoDroid to get the HTC Incredible was for SenseUI and now everybody is wanting to ditch it. I need more Sense ROMs to play with and theres just nothing to choose from. SO I figured I would start a poll and see if I am the only one. So is it a Sense or Senseless ROM preference?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been agonizing for a month between the X and the Dinc. Up until last night, I still had no idea which one I was going to buy. I liked the video capabilities of the X, but from everything I'd read motoblur sucks. Also, for some strange reason I was hung up on the Dinc's lack of a dedicated camera button. I ordered my Dinc at 3 pm today, and I'm pleased to say it will be here by 3pm tomorrow. At which point I'm going to run over my Blackberry 8900 with my car.
View 12 Replies View RelatedMy battery has never been worse since upgrading to Froyo. I don't use an auto task killer but I did use SystemPanel to manually close applications once in awhile. Now that I can't kill tasks easily, I just let everything run to see how it would turn out. I'm not saying the battery life is horrible, but it is noticeably worse now. I realize users experience will vary based on how many applications they have installed and running. I have not installed any new applications since Froyo.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI now understand that the strange red-eye housing over my camera lens, which looks so much like an android (or maybe an HTC engineer) after a long night of drinking, is purported as protection for the actual lens. Why HTC didn't just settle for a sliding blackout cover instead of this bulky lesion is anybody's guess. I know that it's relative permanence over my lense will certainly not protect my photos from any dirt and scratches which this protector picks up, so I have been extremely careful to keep it clean and un-scratched. What I suspect is that this lens cover may be responsible for some of my camera quality issues, such as high noise, a reddish tint which tends to flicker on and off, some periodic jerking of the autofocus (flashing out of focus) when you are hardly moving, and indoor shots which are much, much darker than life without the flash. Hey, I get that this camera, no matter how many megapixels they can list, doesn't come with a world-class sensor, but I would like to know from anyone with a background in photography what they think of my concern that even a clean, transparent cap can reduce the amount of light entering the actual lens, while adding its own reflective noise. The same with the opaque cylinder which surrounds the lens (the red eye housing), from a photo-quality standpoint is looks to me like it's only good for cutting the light. If removing this cover would make a significant difference, then it may still not be the best solution as it leaves the lens at risk, but I am still interested in any qualified opinions on how much this red-eye housing causes, if any. It may be good for the future of smart phone design if they see that they have educated consumers, who are paying attention to such possible problems.

It will have one number before I open my inbox and then another unread count within the app (before downloading any new emails). It then updates itself when I exit the messages app. Do you think it might have something to do with too many widgets on my homescreen? I don't have anything major...1x1 more icons, 1x4 smooth calendar, vibrate toggle, htc clock. Anyone else have this issue?

I am on a Verizon family plan. My line is not due for an upgrade for a long time, but another line on the family plan is (just a standard flip phone). my question is: Can I use the other (flip phone) upgrade to get my self a new incredible WHILE leaving the flip phone a standard, non data line? When i go to purchase online using the upgrade, it makes me choose a data plan.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen the INC is sleeping I can feel the vibrate or hear the notification sound, however, it won't wake up or let me know that I have something waiting for me just by glancing at it from a distance if it's sleeping. This isn't an issue if I am in a quiet environment, but otherwise it is. I have checked all the settings and there doesn't seem to be a way to make this happen.

Instead when I select them I am taken to a screen with uninstall and details as choices. Usually if I tap the widgets they are placed on a home screen where they can be launched.

The phone is suppose to be fully customizable but it seems that the one thing I have yet to figure out is how to change where my home screen is located. I would much rather have my home screen set as the left most screen instead of having it directly in the middle of my seven available screens. You know, sort of like how the iphone is and what not.
