I've looked pretty hard to find an answer to this but only found things about sending multiple page texts, not receiving. As a Verizon customer I loved being able to send and receive 7 page texts to and from other Verizon customers. I recently upgraded to an Eris from that horribly lousy Alias and noticed that when the same Verizon people send me multiple page texts, the Eris splits the texts up. I'm fine with it doing this, but the thing that really bothers me is every time I get a multiple page text from a Verizon user it also sends me (and the person sending the text) a notification saying the text had special formatting removed or something to that extent. Some people I talk to tend to send texts that are 2 or more pages every time and the constant notification can get really irritating. Is there an app or a workaround to prevent this?

I installed Handcent and SMS Popup and every time I get a text, I get a popup from handcent and a popup from the stock messaging app. I tried everything that was said to fix the problem and all that did was stop the notifications from the stock app from coming up in the status bar. I'm still getting a popup from both apps and would like to just have handcent show up.

View 7 Replies View RelatedFrustrated! I am receiving all my texts from different people under one thread. Then, when I reply to the last person who texted me under that thread, it goes to the first person on the thread and not the person intended. Went to the Sprint store the first time this happened, they did a hard reset and that worked for a couple of days but having same problem again. Tried disabling my task manager but that didn't help this problem either. I downloaded Handcent and disabled Hero's text messaging but no luck with that. Please help....ready to throw this phone against the wall. Has anyone else had this problem? Anybody know how to fix this problem?

My question is this: When I receive such text messages, which often ask me to respond in a certain way (by sending back the word STOP for instance) in order for me to unsubscribe, should I respond? It's a dilemma because I want the spam to stop but I don't want to confirm the validity of my number either (that would invite more spam).

I rooted my stock 2.2 DX. After installing Rom manager and downloading and flashing FlyX, every time I get a text, it comes through 4 times. 2 through the stock message program, and 2 through the messaging program that got installed during the flash. Can any one help?

1. The main thing is that my texts won't send anymore when I turn my screen off or even exit out of the text message window. I have to keep my phone on and on that screen for at least 5 minutes until it finally sends. Before this, I could just text, send it, turn my screen off, and put it in my pocket and not worry about it sending. With my job and my life, I can't be doing this. I need a fix for this if possible.
2. This problem isn't as big as the other two but someone will send me one text and I will receive 2-6 times. I'll either receive all of them at once, or I will receive one text, and then 5 minutes later get it again, and then again 5 more minutes, and so on and so on. Now this can get very annoying when I am quickly texting and I keep getting texts like 15 times. I need a fix for this as well if possible.
3. One of the most annoying things about all this is my keyboard is not typing. I'll click on the "insert message here" box and start typing but the letters won't appear. The word suggestions will appear and whatnot acting like I am typing but it won't. My only temporary solution to this is exiting out and going back into the text but it doesn't seem to actually work as I am finding myself sitting there for about 10 minutes exiting and entering back into the texts over and over.
I'm wondering how to add words to the dictionary (aside from going into menu>settings>language & keyboard) like I used to be able to with my droid. If i was texting along and came to a word that wasn't in the dictionary, I could just long press and then select "add to dictionary". Well this phone doesn't have that option and so I'm wondering if I'm just missing it or what..?

I went to verizon today thinking maybe something was wrong with my phone and they suggested that I use Zedge. I downloaded it don't like it much (hard to find what your looking for)

I am trying to do this through the phonebook.I read in another thread that it can be added to the phonebook and then set to "send to voicemail". I can do that, but it doesn't send the call to voicemail. Am I doing something wrong? I'd rather not use an app for this if I don't have to.

I'm going through my phone trying to free up some space. I use Uninstaller Pro to delete apps. Today I noticed that Google Maps is listed four times in Uninstaller Pro. Each one has the same version number and the same download date. I don't want to uninstall the program completely, but if it has somehow installed itself three extra times, I'd like to remove the copies. Root Explorer only lists the .apk one time Has anyone else had this problem or know of a reason why there would be four copies of Google Maps listed?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had my X10 mini pro for about a month and now I can't stand some of the "features" anymore. First, I thought people where crazy, sending me the same sms two or three times in a row. But now I've realized that they aren't, it's just my phone that receives them over and over again. It is the same thing with notifications. If I set a reminder in the calendar, the reminder pops up in my notification bar sometimes five or six times before I get to angry and delete the whole event from the calendar. Is these problems specific to me or do anyone else recognize them?

I have no idea why this file was activated and when I looked at my task killer, most of my phone's memory had been used up but no programs were running in the background. I've never seen it get this low even when using 20 programs at a time. I've been using a mixture of apps that I've downloaded off of my computer and through the market. Is there any way that someone has access to my device and can look through all of my files/folders? Are there any known hacks/Trojans/viruses that do this?

When it came back on, it told me my software had been successfully updated to some kind of version 3.2.something. I didn't pay attention to what it said had been updated, I just thought "cool" and hit OK. Well once I hit ok, things start force closing. I reset the phone and Color Notes stops unexpectedly immediately. Lots of my widgets say "Problem loading gadget". At least 3 out of 5 on each home screen. Lots of my apps will not open. They open then immediately close. Lookout will not initialize. Pandora closes immediately. Also, I lost most all of my contacts. My Google contacts are still there, but all the Phone contacts are gone. My call log is gone. Internet history. Some settings are gone like default program settings and sound settings. My wallpaper, emails from my Gmail account as well as settings, unlock password, calendar entries, and some other things are still there on the phone. I have NO IDEA what the hell happened, but I would really like to try to get this fixed without hard resetting my phone.

I will send a text to someone and a completely different person will recieve my text. It happened on my original Droid after a few months as well. Ive double checked everytime, and no im not accidentally choosing th wrong person. I look through the text history and it appears it was sent to the correct person. Now i am scared to text anyone knowing that it could be sent to the wrong people.
